Good question Jimbo.

I would say that we are saved by faith as a result of God's grace.
To me the grace of God was what nailed Jesus to the cross.

With regards to whether it's a one time event I'm not sure.
Personally I believe we need and receive daily grace and love from God.

61. God cannot lie.

Titus 1:2: “In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began.”
Do you believe all things are possible with God?

PennEd - is that the "only" scriptural support you have? ....

Thank God for the work and the love, grace and mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ.

And all that is come about because of this truth.

Ephesians 2:4-7 (NASB)
[SUP]4 [/SUP] But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us,

[SUP]5 [/SUP] even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),

[SUP]6 [/SUP] and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,

[SUP]7 [/SUP] so that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.

Now - we can believe that scripture above - or we can believe the lie of our enemy that says our loving Father throws His beloved children into hell if they don't grow up.

Let each person be fully persuaded in their own hearts.

Me - I choose Christ which is why I said to my fellow workers one day -

"When I get to stand before God - I will say with bended knee - Jesus is my righteousness and Lord. It will be my greatest "work" - if one can call it that."

Repentance is needed for sanctification, which happens after being born again and learning from the Holy spirit what is sins and what needs to be repented of.

Faith in Jesus finished work upon the cross and His resurrection is the only thing needed to be saved (aka receive the Holy spirit seal and to be born again).

Afterwards God reveals what is dead and needs to be pruned from our life via the Holy spirit. He waters the good and cuts away the dead.
So your answer is yes, one has to repent of their sin.

Does God love us out of his ability?
I don't understand your question Meggido, but to Sully I offer this stick of dynamite..

~Rom 5:5 Now this hope does not disappoint us, because God's love has been poured out into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.

This might be clearer:

Scriptures are both a command and a promise. His commands lead us to the full expression of our identity in Christ. But, He doesn't reap where He doesn't sow. He empowers what He requires.
Amen....the gospel doesn't demand faith from us from our own power or will - it supplies faith and we get that with the accurate hearing of the word ( rhema ) of Christ Himself.

Romans 10:17 (NASB)
[SUP]17 [/SUP] So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.

Ephesians 1:13 (NASB)
[SUP]13 [/SUP] In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation—having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise,

you were sealed = aorist indicative tense / passive voice = a one time event in the past.

Passive voice = the sealing was not done by us but by an outside force - the Holy Spirit Himself.

This is where the Holy Spirit "cut away" the new inner man in Christ from the body of flesh which still has the power of sin still in it. Romans 7:17-22

This called the circumcision of Christ - or of the heart. Col. 2:11

This is the real reason why "sin shall not have dominion over us." Rom. 6:14

Romans 8:9 (NASB)
[SUP]9 [/SUP] However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him.

Jesus said - that which is born of the flesh is flesh - and that which is born of the spirit is spirit.

I tell you my precious fellow brethren - the understanding of this will change our lives to walk free in the Lord Jesus Christ and stop a lot of religious nonsense from ruining our lives that is deceiving us from the work of Christ in our lives.

So you answer is yes, one has to repent of their sin.
After being saved, God's holy spirit will lead you to repentance of sins.

Before being saved, one must realize you are a sinner in need of a savior and that Jesus is that savior and nailed your sins to the cross and died for you. That He rose again and gave you the ability to be a born again beloved child of God via the Holy spirit.

in any accasion ?
this happened so we have a chance of being saved..
this is being facetoius billy and you know it..

Jesus died on the cross coz he knew he could defeat satan and did... He knew that the cross would come his way one day.. thats why he had the last supper..

He also left instruction to remember him... and also said he would be coming soon to those who accept his blood has been poored out for there forgivness of sins meaning his blood would live on forvever.. also meaning that many will recieve but few will be chosen coz many will fall out of favor with God....

Favor is gained and earned from God and that the truth.. God bless you to i really do mean that...
How am I being facetious?

Maybe it it comes across that way and if so it wasn't meant to be.

I was just trying to say that if works saves us then Jesus would have said so.

I do accept though that it could have come across that way.

Bill Johnson...great teacher of rhema and logos Word. :)
Anyone who believes in the grace of God in Christ is going to be labelled by others that believe they must do things to remain saved as being false and thus be "labelled" in order to ostracize them and demean the message of Christ's work.

It's just part of the religious mind. It's best to just ignore them and leave them in the hands of the Lord.

I don't call repentance works but can kind of see what you are saying about different types of salvation.

Some people are saved from being drunk by becoming sober.

Saved from becoming bitter and anger by forgiveness.

Saved from envy and greed by giving thanks and appreciating the blessings God has given them.

Saved from worrying by trusting in God to provide for our needs.

The list of what God saves us from can be endless.

By following God's laws and teachings, saves us from the consequences of sin in this life....like following traffic laws should keep us safer while driving.

However We can still be hurt by others sinning, just as we can be in a car accident even if we follow all the traffic laws.

We learn the laws because it shows us how the world works.

God's spiritual laws hang on love of God and others but we could spend years unpacking what that means in practical terms.
I can see that those who become angry for not being forgiven have forgiven them selves more than God has..

coz if someone hates you for not forgiving them then they havent fully understood or recieved fforgiveness coz i strongly feel those who have recieved forgivness dont get angry when they dont recieve it of a friend...this to me is in the same league as walking with lucifer... lucifer should get on his hands and knees and beg for forgiveness to every man woman and child for his sins on innocence....

And he should remain fearerfull untill the end..is that going to happen ?... well im in the same league as arc angel micheal i will defend and forgive when God orders it..

yup but you can understand it better when they feal being saved is only a type of salvation..

I believe those who expect others to forgive them to the point of getting angry when they aren't forgiven, have not been made perfect in love.

To be perfect in love, you love your enemies Even when they hate and try and kill you. It's agape love that Jesus displayed. However it's not natural to us and some thing the Holy spirit has to teach us.
.it's easy to love those who love us and are nice to us, but love our enemies and truly bless them?

That takes supernatural power from Heaven and a forgiving heart.

Johnson is NAR, not WOF....
~Bill Johnson is regularly listed as an NAR leader. He believes in the apostolic and prophetic ministries, but says the church does not have any official ties to the NAR."[SUP][[/SUP]
