So be clear: Am I guilty of having literally murdered someone, or literally kidnapping someone when I steal an apple? Or are you just not willing to come right out and say you agree with me that the guilt of 'all of the law' is in regard to not having kept it all?

if you steel and apple your just as guilty as the murderer,

thats is what the Bible says, if you can not see that, it explains a lot.

Someday, somewhere, someone will be able to explain that if this is the correct interpretation of 1 John 2:19 why John then warns the saved people he is telling this to to not also depart but to continue in the word they first heard and are abiding in (vs. 24).

If it's true that John meant only 'not really' saved people fall away then why does he feel the need for these people whom he himself says are saved to be told to not fall away but rather continue in the word they first heard? Simple question.
If it abides in you, john explained it himself,

as he said later, it is based on the promise of eternal life, which we have, and it is this knowledge that we have eternal life (not might have eternal life as you want to preach) that keeps us abiding in him, and trusting him.

To win this race, you must endure to the end whether you are first or last. As long as you cross the finish line, you are in. You quit before you reach the finish line, well, you are up a creek without a paddle.

1Co 9:23-24,
And this I do for the gospel's sake, that I might be partaker thereof with you. Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.

Salvation is a gift, not a reward,

Th saved run a race, and seek rewards, the lost should seek salvation, but they can not earn it,

you workers will will be disappointed if you keep trying to earn grace,

Like Abraham was the first to get saved before the Ten Commandments or Moses were even conceived. He was also a gentile at the time. I hope I got that right....

Yes!
Who is running the race?
The saved!
That competition is NOT open to the unsaved...

The whole context of 1 Cor. 9 is about Paul talking about him preaching the gospel. - it is NOT about losing salvation. It is about Paul's ministry which was to preach the gospel.

Paul disciplined his body so that he could be a good steward of his ministry and would not be disqualified from his ministry.

Paul was "talking about Rom. 12:1-2 ". Present your bodies as living sacrifices.

1 Corinthians 9:16-27 (NASB)
[SUP]16 [/SUP] For if I preach the gospel, I have nothing to boast of, for I am under compulsion; for woe is me if I do not preach the gospel.

[SUP]17 [/SUP] For if I do this voluntarily, I have a reward; but if against my will, I have a stewardship entrusted to me.

[SUP]18[/SUP] What then is my reward? That, when I preach the gospel, I may offer the gospel without charge, so as not to make full use of my right in the gospel.

[SUP]19 [/SUP] For though I am free from all men, I have made myself a slave to all, so that I may win more.

[SUP]20 [/SUP] To the Jews I became as a Jew, so that I might win Jews; to those who are under the Law, as under the Law though not being myself under the Law, so that I might win those who are under the Law;

[SUP]21 [/SUP] to those who are without law, as without law, though not being without the law of God but under the law of Christ, so that I might win those who are without law.

[SUP]22 [/SUP] To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak; I have become all things to all men, so that I may by all means save some.

[SUP]23 [/SUP] I do all things for the sake of the gospel, so that I may become a fellow partaker of it.

[SUP]24 [/SUP] Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may win.

[SUP]25 [/SUP] Everyone who competes in the games exercises self-control in all things. They then do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable.

[SUP]26 [/SUP] Therefore I run in such a way, as not without aim; I box in such a way, as not beating the air;

[SUP]27 [/SUP] but I discipline my body and make it my slave, so that, after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified.

A gentile is a people that were not chosen to be his. He chose Jacob and his seed to be his chosen known as the Israelites . Abraham was included, so was Isaac , because they believed God by faith and was righteous in his eyes.

As a side note - here is Paul saying that he was not under the law which includes all things in the law of Moses including the 10 commandments.

Paul now lives by the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus.

The law of faith ( the law of Moses is not of faith )

The law of liberty in Christ Jesus.

The law of love.

The law of Christ Himself.

The life of Christ in us fulfills all the intent of the law even the places where Jesus elevated the law - such as when He said "You have heard it said - you shall not commit adultery - but "I" say to you - even if you have lust in your heart - you have committed adultery."

Paul was without prejudice to everyone he encountered ,because he knew the gospel was for all to hear. So every one he encountered , whether they were Jew , Gentile, Heathen, or any color, he preached the gospel.

Great observation and question.

I would answer it like this:

Because he believes they are saved. And he is renewing their mind to who they are in Christ.

Exactly the same reason this was written:

Hebrews 6:9 But even if we speak like this, beloved, we are persuaded of better things concerning you, and things accompanying salvation.
Then you believe that believers will always believe, and that the warning to not stop believing is sufficient to keep the believer always believing, and therefore, because they always believe they will always be saved. Correct?

That is the traditional Calvinistic belief about OSAS. I respect it, because it has the requirement for continued believing to the very end to be saved (and the works that go along with continued believing). I differ with it in that I believe the believer can stop believing and, as even Calvinism would agree, anyone who is not believing on the Day of Christ's return will be lost on the day of Judgment.

Unbelief is a sin,

as john said, those born of God can not contain in an,

your following the traditional Roman Catholic view that people can fall from salvation, even if it is watered down, it is catholic

If you want to consider yourself guilty of sleeping with your father's wife, or raping a woman (you are a male, right?), or burning a child in sacrifice to a god by simply stealing an apple, then that is your prerogative, don't include me in it, but I assure you God is not saying you are guilty of doing those things just because you stole a piece of fruit, or thumped your little brother on the head.
