Swell...not by works thread 2
Meggido, you'll notice this topic is the sole existence of this forum. It astounds me because to (re)define salvation is why Jesus turned this world upside down. Although it's super frustrating like kicking a cactus in your socks, it's really all that matters that this revelation truth be known. Just my 2 cents.

You can look at it that way, but one team has the truth. We must grow up in truth.

As per usual you don't know what you're talking about. You continue, incessantly to not understand the difference between descriptive and prescriptive texts. You are, frankly (albeit it perhaps in ignorance) preaching another gospel -- Galatians 1:8-10.

Basically Christ sort of saved you, but it is up to you now. Sounds like a sci-fi flick, but it definitely isn't the Gospel. You just cannot discern descriptive/prescriptive texts, and no matter how hard you try, there is no getting by the fact you are saving yourself.

Not going to argue back and forth over it with you. You can get your last word in on your works gospel and wresting Scripture. God's elect will never perish as per His word.

You say they will.
You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to preacher4truth again.

Drat and double drat!!!

All I see now is the manifestation of Matt 12.33-37
Positional sanctification begets practical sanctification. Maybe some exceptions to this truth, but none I've ever seen. It is the spiritual kung fu.

thats because they you never had it,

as john said, they departed from us (another way to say turned away from us) because they were never of us, if they were of us, they never would have departed (turned away)
But how do you turn away from something you were never part of?

And if it's not possible, why did Jesus and Peter say it's going to happen?

if you steel and apple your just as guilty as the murderer,

thats is what the Bible says, if you can not see that, it explains a lot.
I think God does assign weight to different sins, but in the end the penalty for all sins is the same.

To win this race, you must endure to the end whether you are first or last. As long as you cross the finish line, you are in. You quit before you reach the finish line, well, you are up a creek without a paddle.
And I think this is the true resolution to the question. You can be with us here, but if you don't persevere to the end you won't be with us there (in heaven). And if you're not with us there it's like you were never with us at all. Like being the key word.

Dude Its a simple question lol, i understand your passionate about your theory so ill leave it alone

Being passionate about Jesus will keep us in perfect peace.... In Him we live and move and have our being. Without Him we have nothing. (including peace of mind) These things were written to us so that we would KNOW we have eternal life because we have believed on the name of the Son of God...(not on our self sufficiency) This fact is very important to us frail and weak humans.
Jesus knew we needed this assurance. Without the blessed assurance that we are loved unconditionally., there is no health or growth in the relationship we have with God. Why? Because we will always measure our assurance by our behavior and there is to be no assurance in our flesh...The Bible tells us to put no assurance in our flesh... even the so called good works the flesh thinks it can do.

God's love is not dependent on "us" but it's the Love of God that constrains us and motivates us and keeps us. Not our love for Him but His love for us. Herein is love., not that we loved God but that He loved us... We love God because He first loved us. This is not a shame on us.,this is our state while in these perishing bodies. It's a mature believer who has a realization that they are in need at all times for His hand and wisdom in their lives. God works the most in the lives of those who need Him the most. And those who freely admit it and live out their lives according to that amazing truth will see Him do amazing things even while we are in these bodies.

Amen...break the least of the commandments makes one guilty of the whole.........a so called "little white lie" makes one just as guilty of breaking the law as a "murderer".........

Amen, Unlike end times, how old is the earth, Do we speak in tongues etc etc and topics like that, This is the gospel. Peoples eternity will be effected if they get this wrong, so it is the most important subject.

People do it all the time, They come into churches Feed off the churches, and when the church stops feeding them or they stop feeling fed, they leave.

Just because one is part of a local church does not mean they are part of the royal family of God. or a member of the universal church of God.

We can make ourselves part of a local church, but only God can make us part of the universal church, which is his body.

I agree

In the local society, Some sins are worse, Thus God weighed them as different, and instituted punishment for them that was different,

As far as what separates us from God, Adam ate a fruit, and the fall of mankind was the result. We may think because all we did was steal a peace of fruit we are ok, But in the grand scheme of things, we are just as guilty as the murderer, and apart from Christ, we both will suffer the consequence of our sin which is death.

The penalty of sin is death, It does not matter what sin it is, they all have the same penalty attached.
