.42 And he commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he is the one appointed by God to be judge of the living and the dead.43 To him all the prophets bear witness that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name."

through his name, not through a law, of knowing what a sin is.

what law do you use to give you knowledge of sin.

14 For when Gentiles, who do not have the law, by nature do what the law requires, they are a law to themselves, even though they do not have the lawRomans 2
Actually it reads "show the work of the law, written in their hearts..and do by nature those things contained In the law...clearly speaking of the gentile believrs who have the Spirit of God and through love fulfill all the law..which is the whole point Paul is making in these early chapters of Romans.

No Paul was rebuking the Jews that was trying to pervert the true gospel that He was giving by God and said if anyone preach a differnt gospel than what he taught..th ey was in fact cursed by God.
your talking rubbish,
you can not rebuke, if your cut off from god.

25 But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian,

21 Is the law then contrary to the promises of God? Certainly not! For if a law had been given that could give life, then righteousness would indeed be by the law

.4 You are severed from Christ, you who would be justified by the law; you have fallen away from grace.

you want to answer, what has already been posted at you.

if it was the same law,it would not be needed to be wrote on you heart, they would have gave them the law of moses at acts 15.

.8 And God, who knows the heart, bore witness to them, by giving them the Holy Spirit just as he did to us,9 and he made no distinction between us and them, having cleansed their hearts by faith.10 Now, therefore, why are you putting God to the test by placing a yoke on the neck of the disciples that neither our fathers nor we have been able to bear?11 But we believe that we will be saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus, just as they will."Acts 15

Are you saying Paul was cut off from God? Paul was rebuking those Jews who came to that GENTILE church and tried to pervert the gospel from grace back to certain works of the law..now that's evident to any honest person who reads that book

I will write my law on their hearts? That's the Spirit of God that shows us God's love and we love others with His love..that's all the law fulfilled in love...

Let's look at the Scripture you're quoting:

2 Peter 1:8-9 For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins.

Notice it says: if you do these things "make every effort and be diligent" you not be empty or unfruitful in your knowledge. This is talking about rewards not salvation. And we also know it's not saying they were never saved because Peter says, "forgotten they were cleansed from old sins". That means these people were cleansed and saved, not that they were never saved.

And finally Peter says this:

2 Peter 1:10-11 Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble; for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Peter isn't saying, they are not saved. He is saying make sure you live like you're saved. And why? Because if you do these things you won't stumble. Why does it matter if we stumble? Because we come in through the fire (and everything burned up) or we can come with a "Richly" abundant entrance. I believe this is talking about the rewards of living a life according to the Spirit of God, but I don't believe salvation is a reward, but a free gift.
Stumble or fall in this passage means to stop sinning....

the context means everything here and not any part of 2 Peter 2.1-11 has anything to do with works based or OSAS salvation or rewards....and everything with how to keep from becoming entangled with SIN....

Vs 9 is the key to the context in the entire passage of Vs1-11

[SUP]9 [/SUP]For he who lacks these qualities is blind or short-sighted, having forgotten his purification from his former sins.

Once again, define believe.
Why? I've already defined it, and even posted a long study on the word with the Hebrew definition too. Perhaps you didn't see it. Fran rejected this by the way.

Believe is to entrust your entire well being to another that you trust. When we hear the gospel, we repent of sin, turn to God, and He receives us. It is not mental assent. And nobody here in this thread thinks this way.

Once we believe the gospel message of Jesus, we are born from above. Something a devil will never be. Then we are gifted with faith. We all are given a measure. The measure grows as we experience the faithfulness of God.

So to back up what I just said about believe...let's look at Strongs.

Which is something I do on a regular basis stunned, and I thought you did the same.

~G4100
πιστεύω
pisteuō
pist-yoo'-o
From G4102; to have faith (in, upon, or with respect to, a person or thing), that is, credit; by implication to entrust (especially one’s spiritual well being to Christ): - believe (-r), commit (to trust), put in trust with.
Total KJV occurrences: 248

emons believe He is who He said He is, they knew it for a fact. They know and believe He was raised on the third day. They know what is going to happen, just as He said it will - (did you come to torment us before the time?)

ok.

If you believe Him, you will do one of two things:
1. Yo
u will do all He said or,
2. You will see that you don't and will ask for the help you need.
If we are born of God, baptized in Holy Spirit, and are gifted...we hear the voice of God, and we are led by Him. This is greater than following laws that control. For we are under grace now...a new master. Grace is unmerited empowerment of Holy Spirit to become the Sons of God. He uses His Word for guidance, true.

Aren't we constantly doing these two things as He shows us what our heart is up to in matters? Who hasn't struggled with belief? Who hasn't examined the storing of treasure on earth against all He told us? Who hasn't had their life fall apart or implode at some point and asked, where ARE You, Lord??
Maybe in our immaturity. But, eventually we should be able to see that Jesus has risen and His resurrection power is the life that He wants His body to experience.

We are in three phases of growth that is found in 1John. Babes, young men, and fathers.

Is believing simple? There are a lot of hindrances (the world and our own self for two) to the obedience of faith. Try not storing treasure on earth and wait to hear your own family calling you a fool and the entire world siding with them. Then wait and hear the Christians you know saying you're a fool too!
[/QUOTE]

I've had that happen when first baptized in Holy Spirit. My family thought it was the devil and can't be faulted for this because the church I grew up in taught it.

But, my parents eventually came to this too. It is a hard time but it's a trial of our faith. And trust in the promises of God that all our house will be saved. Found in Acts.

So stunned, nobody has said the Christian life is a piece of cake. And nobody has said all you have to do is just acknowledge that Jesus died and rose from the dead and we are saved. It's a piercing of our spirit with His Spirit and we are sealed then by Him. He takes the responsibility of drawing us, and then keeping us.

This is what (Fran is calling us a team) we are saying.

you would need a law, to define what a sin is, for that law to condemn you.

2 For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.Romans 8

having faith in a finished work. would ask whos work is finished. and whos finished work, gave you grace.

Jesus work freed me from the law of sin and death. My work will never free me from one sin, let alone all I have commited.

Paul said in romans one man had knowledge from the begining that sin was sin, and knew they were rightly judged for it, Paul speaks of the gentile who have no law. by nature doing what is in the law (because the law is written in our hearts)

You might need the law. But I was saved from the law. The law has no more power over me, or use to me. t has done its job in me.

Paul called his fruit based on keeping the law...dung
So the question is where is the fruit coming from...the efforts of men or the work of the Spirit in a true believer
One thing for sure is that if you have the spirit and you are a believer, there is nothing impossible.

Matthew 19:16-26 The Rich Young Man Now a man came up to Jesus and asked, “Teacher, what good thing must I do to get eternal life?” “Why do you ask me about what is good?” Jesus replied. “There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, obey the commandments.” “Which ones?” the man inquired. Jesus replied, “‘Do not murder, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not give false testimony, honor your father and mother,’ and ‘love your neighbor as yourself.’” “All these I have kept,” the young man said. “What do I still lack?” Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” When the young man heard this, he went away sad, because he had great wealth. Then Jesus said to his disciples, “I tell you the truth, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished and asked, “Who then can be saved?” Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

I'm not american. Are you? Why can't you understand english translation? Just asking bro?
What does that have to do with what you said? What you said makes no sense, UNLESS you are sinless was my point.

Think about it, think about what you said, and how it only makes sense if you are sinless,

if you are still confused ask me, I will try to explain it to you.
