I honestly thought Elder Scrolls was Satanic along with most of fantasy outside LOTR back when Morrowind and Oblivion were a big deal.

I didn't understand mythology and storytelling at the time. But I also thought Morrowind looked too clunky. If it was a better game, I probably would have given it a chance despite my slight irrational fear of being possessed through the controller.

My big beef with Bethesda is that most of the time you are collecting and improving junk. No matter how far you get in the game. Don't get me wrong, junk collection for $ is a thing in any RPG, but games like Mount and Blade and New Vegas help you streamline the junk collection process with action, story/quest advancement, etc. Or at least a non-repetitive discovering of locales.

Skyrim and Fallout 4 entice you to raid a bandit camp, to get junk, to go back to your workbench only to find the need for more junk. I really like those games. Great moments, but a lot of monotony when I look back and compare them with other games I spent too much time playing.

As for a love hate relationship with Bethesda, kinda. I thought Skyrim was really great and fun, but I did not like Oblivion as much as everyone else wanted me to, or Morrowind either : p Morrowind felt too clunky for me to get into, and Oblivion was cool at first but everything felt the same, every dungeon looked the same and nothing changed ever. But I did really enjoy Skyrim, it was probly the first game by them that I actually liked : p

The Witcher 3...now that was a game. You still connected junk, but the junk didn't rule you.

Assassins Creed 2 is the most fun man br ever had playing a game. Nothing is more fun than free running.

I did a book report on that and it would have been the first official game ever but the guy who made"pong" didn't have a patent yet so magnavox got the fame with star wars as the first official video game ever!

thinking isn't required for playing games,that was your first mistake,fun is what makes a game a game lol!

I still don't understand schools,they'll teach mythology,crossdressing and magic spell through shakespeare but not teach the bible?!
WHY?????
pretty silly really because they'll teach a bunch of religious type stuff but not the bible....makes sense doesn't it???if you are off in lalala land lol!

I was obsessed with AC2/ACBrotherhood. Recovering addict lol. That multiplayer was fantastic too.
 
I'd argue they don't really teach mythology or Shakespeare. At least not to the extent they should.

When I look back, I can only think of one year in High School where the class itself actually stretched my brain and tested my limits.

It's okay to think of games critically. There are some factors that make one game more worth playing than another.

Or worth going back to.

They're like books.

i LOVE video games. Ever since final fantasy 7 came out when i was 12/13 i never looked back lol! I love all the final fantasy's, all the metal gears, all the parasite eves.

Currently playing zelda breath of the wild and Tales of Graces f

Im a video game nerd :):)

Oh, I really liked Tales of Graces, even more so than Tales of Xillia actually.

Is that the first tale of game that youve played?

Am I the only one who thinks the Final Fantasy series is only really good looking back?

I will say though that the score put to piano is one of my favorite albums of all time.

Abyss is my second favorite, right after Tales of Symphonia. It is amazing though, yeah. I also really enjoyed Lukes character development, too. It was definitely an awesome game, but I would put ToS ahead of it for having the best storyline ever : p

I still have ToS but sadly I no longer have TotA. Im sure it cost alot more than it did when I first bought it nowadays : p

Ive actually never been a huge FF fan, Ive played 7, and it was good. Id like to try 8 and 9. But I have played other JRPGs that I thought were better written and more enjoyable than this series : p I usually dont think of it as highly as others.
