Crawfish season is over and that's bound to make his low country boil sub-par. I'll bring the flour if you make some of those cupcakes I saw pictures of somewhere around here.

[insert Big Lebowski quote here]

Crawfish...BAH! My boil contained crab and shrimp and was perfectly cromulent. I'm in Iowa, so any low country boil I make is a riff. It was a heck of a riff though. Adam Jones level. Fo' realz.

LCB without crawfish is like breakfast without eggs.

LCB without crawfish can still be good.

As for breakfast: PIZZA! The mother of all breakfasts. No eggs needed.
And breakfast can be good without eggs, but a proper breakfast contains eggs in some form.

Today a proper breakfast was a tuna sandwich. A large one. I did brush my teeth before heading off to w*rk though.

Yesterday a proper breakfast was pasta, sauce, egg, cheese, cornbread, all mixed up together and cooked scrambled. Somebody called it carbonara. I called it delicious. There's your blankety-blank egg though.

I think I am finally going to have to leave CC.

A few things are becoming apparent:

- Many (most?!) Americans think Europe is a communist-socialist society brianwashed by either the government or the dangerous terrorists lurking in every corner ready to kill us all

- According to the sane people, Americans have freedom of speech, others do not
Thus Americans can say the above things unchecked, while if Europeans say anything negative (or just against what is considered correct by the masses) in the US, we are ignorant or brainwashed or whatever other insult people can come up with

- Not to mention all the people telling everyone they are going to hell if they don't agree with them :p
.....

I am not saying you ("my" crazy gang) are like that. I just needed to let you know what is going on (and keep myself from storming out of here with a silly thread like so many of the others who left).

I am going to miss you incredibly much, but the overall CC community now makes me feel unwanted.

The only reason I have stayed so long, is you guys, but CC is now draining me, rather than filling me spiritually.

*hugs all*

Thanks for all the laughs, hugs and prayers.

Bye all.
Oh wwjd, if you're referring to what I said about europe, let me please clarify because i don't think its all that bad really. I didn't know u had taken it so seriously (if that's even what this is about)...

Ok,...I think europe is still a beautiful, wonderful place and I'm sure most of the people there are nice, hard-working indiividuals who just want to live a good life and don't want to hurt anyone. My parents toured europe a few times and they always came back loving it and they always had a great time and had great things to tell about it.

I'll be blunt about what scares me. Its the brazen, anti-conservative attitude that seems to be popular there now and they have a reputation for not liking americans, especially now that Trump's been elected. I really wish you were here to correct me if I'm wrong about these things. I don't want to have to be careful about what I say whenever I'm conversing with someone. Also I have heard from some friends who have been there that they curse a lot in public. I don't like to hear cussing. Sometimes I hear people do it here but its still rare.

Also, my parents were robbed in front of the Eiffel Tower by a couple of clever young boys who distracted them as they pickpocketed their travelers cheques. Luckily they did not get anything else.

I'm really sorry if what I said about Europe in previous posts offended you. If you would have told me I was wrong and told me what things were really like I would have believed you 100%.

I don't know the response this will get but, for me Greek mythology is probably the most interesting and most entertaining series of stories ever written. I've been hooked for years, and then Percy Jackson movies to a big crap on it.

No matter what you say, or how you say it, you are guaranteed to offend somebody here at CC. The question becomes whether or not someone will step up on their soapbox to take you to task for the things you say.

I can relate to this, but I will never be as clever and funny as wwjd Kilden is. I meet people from all over the world at work, at church, at home. I meet more foreigners than Norwegians in a regular week. And their worldview and view on them selves are shaped by their native country. Talking with a Somali, he might have learnt about the Norwegian welfare state before he headed here. Talking with Finn, he might start to talk about famous skiers from Norway. A Dutch about skaters and Vikings. An English might relate to some common history. Americans????? If they are Norwegian-Americans they might talk about the Lutheran church, lutefisk and lefse. If they are not, they might talk about socialism and ask things like do we have refridgerators and telephones in Norway. Do we have dirtfloors in our homes? Yes. I have been asked those things!

I have been naive to think I could post something at the BDF. It is a harsh place. And I try to stay away from discussions that can get mean. I used to be argumentative in my past, but God has changed my ways, and have closed the political world for me. Praise Him that I never became a politician. Anyway.......

I will miss my fellow viking here. But I think we all could learn from this. 1. Don't judge a person for having another perspective than you. 2. Show respect to the country that owns the problem or situation. 3. Be openminded that the rest of the world do exist. 4. Be curious about how people from other countries live and think and listen to them. It might broaden your mind.

It's of course sad that the convo gets harsh at times, but I have a hard time comprehending why peope are getting offended. Maybe my skin is thicker than most peoples?.

Having that said this European/US contest leaves me baffled...everyone should know by now that the real deal is Texas. HAHA.

You know what I like best about Texans?

...their modesty.

From my experience, the people in Tennessee are even worse : p We have family from there, and every time they come here they always talk about how much better their state is than ours.
