We can understand why we love God, because scripture states that we love Him because He first loved us. It would make sense, considering reciprocity. Give and you shall receive. However, one must ponder why God loves us. For that matter, why is God love at all? Why didn't He exist as evil instead of good? Do we speculate that He weighed in His infinite intelligence the pros and cons of righteousness and evil and so determined that the fruit of wickedness is incomparable to that of the fruit of righteousness?

If you could see what life is like with evil rampant and also see peace in all its tranquility, is not the option simple? Do you think the Lord came to a conclusion? We hear of His omniscience and being all knowing, yet if He has made a plan does it not point to the fact that His mind turns in like manner as a person solving an equation? That God chose to send His Son for mankind itself is testament to a reached conclusion, rather than just a knowing. Could it be that He saw all possibilities and chose the best route?

Even in pondering all these things I still go back to the beginning. Why does God love us? I think for but a moment that just maybe its because He wishes to share with us that glorious transcendent heart of His. Its His nature to love, and by nature, He loves us. He wishes for us to grow in knowing that perfect love. The why then is simply found in who He is, rather than found in us. Why does God love us then? Because God is love.

It's not really that God decides to love us, God loves us by default, God is love, God is 100% pure unconditional love.

If anyone wonders what unconditional love is, take it apart scientifically, it is love with ZERO conditions. Whether black or white, criminal or law-abider, saint or Pharisee, perpetrator or victim. As humans we often think that this is unfair, and this is how our OWN version of love comes about which overrules God's version of love.

If God did not love us (by default), then we would be incapable of love. However most people disconnect from this pure image of self, and replace it with self-identity at the teenager/adult stage. Those who experience childhood trauma often replace it as a child.

Only by being like this Child, said Jesus. Now who was he talking to, but Adult minds which had already overruled their pure image, with their own self-image.

When you speak, is it YOU, that speaks, or is it LOVE that speaks? Is it you with your own thoughts, separate from God, or is it repeating thoughts that come to mind, as if a channel of God?

One of the aspects of love is - love places "value" on the thing it loves. There is a "value" that God esteems when He looks at us.

What someone is willing to "pay" in order to obtain what it loves - is indicative of the value one places on it to begin with.

Our loving Father was willing to let His Son die and take the sin of the world unto Himself so that we could be redeemed and brought back to Him - the One who loves us dearly and unconditionally.

He wants us to "simply be with Him".

Ephesians 2:4-7 (NASB)
[SUP]4 [/SUP] But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us,

[SUP]5 [/SUP] even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),

[SUP]6 [/SUP] and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,

[SUP]7 [/SUP] so that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.

God is all-powerful.

Nothing could stand before His Wrath or His Anger.

He loves because He is a God of Creation and not destruction. He is a God of Life and not death. He is a God of Mercy and not punishment. He is a God of Grace and not condemnation.

Now the importance comes when you realize He doesn't just love all of us. He Loves you. He Loves you personally as if you were unique amongst His Creation. Even if you don't feel unique... lol

And so we could reflect His Love to those who don't know Him, yet...
That is the reason we are here apart from the God Who loves us. Mat 28 commission to witness and testify of Gods love for us.

For the cause of Christ

I have often pondered the same thing. God is all powerful all knowing and cannot be matched by any means in anything, how easily he could dominate creation and heaven how easily he could if he so chose to be an evil dictator that demands worship of the utmost kind or else you suffer eternally and severely from just one lacking praise, how easily he could have done the most horrific things and would have been justified. He however is not like this, in an alternate realty if it existed where he was the opposite of himself existing alone would be hell.

Yet he loves and adores us he shows compassion where it is undeserved and he welcomes even the meekest of praise as if it was the best kind, yes we know he is love and it is his nature but understanding why is just not possible because the only thing we can really say in the end is he just is we don't really understand why he is the way he is when he could so easily be the opposite

DO you have Children...I hope so? WHY????/ Because from the time they take that first breath of God's breath, You instantly will love them...... from then on they will be your children...

Same is true of God...He made us and continues to make each and everyone of us and those that follow. I do not have to ask why he loves me, As a Father, I already know!

You see, that is the question inherently. Did God choose to be good or has He always been so? God never committed unrighteousness, yet did He see the outcome of a universe if He did (of course having no interest in doing so)? Why is God love? To that I ponder, if He having always existed sat there in eternity counting the cost? We take at face value that He is love, and that is wonderful, but to get to the why is thought provoking. We consider that something is created and exists for that purpose of which it was created. God is self-existing, and so by default in His existence is He simply love? These questions plague the mind in wonder.

this my theory on why God Loves us

He knew Adam, was in his image, and as such was willing to die with eve his bride.

So he set a test into place, not for vindicative purposes, but to see if adam was loving back.

adam failed the test, or he passed depending on the perspective you have.

he is cast out of the beautiful place, and God watches, is he like cain forever mad at God or like abel willing to abide in the Loove of God

and so through thee generations he has set up stumbling blocks, captivity, hurts, pain, to give the option whether to believe or not. nothing he did was meant to hurt, only to illuminate, that he is there waiting for a dicision, do you believe i am that i am and i love you, or do you still want to go it alone

even as the law, showed how bad we were, he continually sent people to say look to God for salvation.

he chastised and conjoled, and thru the years there were some that believed, we call them the patriarchs of faith.

The law didn't prod people into returning to God, it made them more to the belief we can do anything that God asks of us

And so he sent his son, his love is so great, he said i will show you how great my love is. some realized almost instantly that the son was there, and that God did love them. The religious wanted nothing to do with the son. They had this law thing down pat, the Grace and truth that the son showed, was rejected by the leadership. much like today. but the simple folks, said surely this man is the Son of God and they believed, the age old plan had born fruit.

the simplicity of God's plan was as follows

If you love something let it go, if it loves you it will return.

believe that Jesus is the Son of God, and all things shall pass away and all things shall become new

Do you have children? They are often loved long before they take their first breath :) This is definitely true with God, for we were chosen in Him before the foundation of the world, according to the kind intention of His will, that He might show His power in us, and that His name may be proclaimed in all the earth.
