It has finally sunk into my pea brain.

It is easy to recognize the do-nothing, grace-onlies.

It is quite simple, mention that children of the Most High God should be obedient.

You will be faced immediately with someone who believes he/she isin a positio to command God...

This should never be.. Pray for the grace-onlies......

I innocently came to this forum not knowing that we're not supposed to work for God.
It insults Him.
Asking forgieness could be insulting too since we've ALREADY been forgiven everything.

So, I found out about this by persons telling me that I'm a Pharisee and I "teach" the wrong gospel.
Like I even came here to "teach". I came here to hang out with other Christians.

OK. So now I've learned a new term:
WORKS SALVATION.

I guess I'm going to have to find out what that is.
So I don't get hald killed the next time someone brings this up...

All I know is that Jesus said that if we Love Him we are to obey Him.
John 14:15 (I've come to know this verse by heart)

So I do my best.
If it's wrong, He'll forgive me.

Ooops. I'm not supposed to ask for forgiveness!

so far I got 3 different answers!
I just don't see what the problem is in saying we're supposed to obey God...

We are to work for God.
I have not seen anyone who suggest otherwise.
But we are to work because we love our Savior and want to please Him, not to GAIN salvation or KEEP salvation.
And when we fail, we do fill regret, and sorrow, and we do ask forgiveness.

But what is important is "Why do you obey God".
Is it to please Him. Because you love Him.
Or is it for YOUR benefit? Tho gain or keep you salvation.
Many people so good things, but for the wrong reason.

How could doing a good thing be for the wrong reason??
Of course what I do is for the benefit of Others and also for MY benefit.

Jesus said to forgive.
Is this not for MY benefit?

Why is it important WHY I want to obey?
It could be for the wrong reason, but God will still see my obedience.

This goes to the parable of the two sons.
Mathew 21:28-32

The son who did the Father's will was correct.
Even though he said he would NOT do it.

In the end, God looks at what we DO, not what we say.

When we fail is not salvation lost !

Yes, but then you give Persuaded Likes and I'm confused.

Still trying to sort out what different people believe.

I don't understand the reluctance to say that we are to obey,
for whatever reason.

If we're trying to obey God, that must mean we're born again.
Maybe not... Not sure anymore...
