One doesn't. The bible's not a science book.

Not a science book, but scientific facts can be known from the Bible. There is an answer to the lie of evolution and the truth is in the Bible.

You are absolutely correct! The chronology is followed by adding the fathers' ages when their sons were born. The Bible is actually more specific by saying "When Adam had lived 130 years", not 'When Adam was 130 years old. This phrasing continues in the genealogies in Genesis 5 and 11.

The genealogy takes us to when Abraham is 75 years old. Then we have a 430 year chunk of time spanning from when Abraham was 75 and set out from Haran until the exodus from Egypt, 430 years to the very day (Ex. 12:41).

The next chunk of time starts where the previous left off, at the exodus from Egypt, and spans 480 years to the laying of Solomon's Temple foundation (1 Kings 6). At this point the chronology goes back to the genealogies and the length of kings' reigns.

The video below takes a look at these and gives an overview and context to all of the events in the Scriptures. It also clears up some misunderstandings about the length of time the Israelites were in captivity in Egypt. Have a look at it! I've still got more to do on the exile before it's complete, but it's a good start to give an idea of the Timeline given in the Holy Scriptures.

It was 1556 years from Adam's creation to Noah 500 years. 103 years until Shem begats a son 2 years post flood.(Shem is the youngest son). 350 years until Abram is born (Abram was born when his father Terah was 130 not 70. Terah died at 205. Abram was 75. Abram is the youngest son.) From Abram 75 add 430 years until the Exodus (Exodus 12 and Galations). 40 years wandering. Solomon started to build the Temple in the 480th year after the Exodus. Compare the 480 years to Acts 13, there are 93 years of Judges that need to be added (Bullinger in "Number in Scripture." Add the length of reigns of the kings of Judah in Chronicles because Chronicles only lists the kings of Judah, the kings of Israel are included in Kings, it's easy to get confused unless you get the years of reign from Chronicles (about 500 years). 70 years for the exile plus 483 years until Jesus died according to Daniel 9.

Authors of the Bible were not scientists.

They wrote in the style they used and understand, not in the style of modern age era (17th century-now). I think its obvious.

So how do people estimate the age of the Earth using the Bible?
Scientific age (real time), symbolical age (7 days or eras) or patriarchal age (how many important patriarchs from the creation of the world)?

The first one is not in the Bible, other ways are.

There was an age before this one, this one, and one yet to come.

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

There are two bodies mentioned in this verse; the heaven and the earth. It simply stated a fact and left the time factor out. The verse not only did not say when, but left it totally to our imagination, as to the eternal span of time, and how the creation took place.

2 Peter 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

That means one week is 7,000 years, and we are coming to the Sabbath of that week very shortly, which the common name for the next thousand years is the "Millennium age".
The word thousand is used in many parables to indicate a unknown as to what ever is is view whether it is time sensitive or not. The thousand years is simply informing us God has no time restraints?

I think it all gets real when the 70th week begins.
This is the one of the biggest problems I have with this eschatology. I hope and pray that your and others focus would change, because it is real now! You know Jesus said that we "His body" would do more works the He did here on earth. This should be our focus (our jobs as Christians, ambassadors to His Kingdom).

“Seventy weeks[a] are determined (490 consecutive years)(a strict literal reading of this does not allow a gap between 69 and 70)...
For your people and for your holy city,
To finish the transgression,
(Hebrews 9:15, Colossians 2:13, Matthew 23:29-32, 1 Thessalonians 2:14-16 )
To make an end of[b] sins, (John 1:29, Romans 5:21, Hebrews 10:17-18, Romans 6:14)
To make reconciliation for iniquity,
(2 Corinthians 5:19, Romans 5:11)
To bring in everlasting righteousness,
(1 Corinthians 1:30, Romans 3:21-24)
To seal up vision and prophecy,
(Hebrews 1:1-2, Luke 2:21-24, 2 Corinthians 1:20)
And to anoint the Most Holy.
(Hebrews 9:16-28)

Is it not ironic, that when Peter asked Jesus how many more times he should forgive his brother, Jesus said 7x70? Which equals 490. God put up with the Israelites for another 490 years after the Babylonian captivity of Israel, where Jesus made the decree that he would take their kingdom and give to another, that not one stone would no be left on top of another, that THEIR temple would be destroyed. Is it not ironic that God said through the prophet Moses that if Israel did not repent that He Punish them 7 more times (Leviticus 26), Babylonian captivity was 70 years, so 70x7 equals 490...

Can you guys connect the dots?

So why bother with escathology? Its not really that important. It either all happened or is about to happen. Live for Him and watch it happen.

God is a scientist and He gave the words to write.
I think you have a very specific view on inspiration... you mean something like automatic writings as spiritists do.

Biblical inspiration means that men were inspired but not dictated. They used their own brains, their own world views etc. Genesis is not what you want it to be in the 21st century.

Symbolic age? Really?
Really? Of course, do you know anything about such literature in Babylon and other cultures from those times?
Symbolism, numbers etc, that was their style of producing history and other records.

I wonder why people of today are so lazy to get facts and instead try to read ancient books from the Babylon era like they read textsbooks about chemistry in school.

This leads to various nonsense teachings like "young earth creationism", flat earth, hollow earth etc.

Have you found a difference between 'Bible' and 'Babylon' No? Keep looking. There is a difference.

As to digging our facts....I research about twelve hours a day. Almost every day. What do you know about research? The ancient writings I study are only a part of it. You need to stay away from comic books.

Do you know what dictation is? God gave the writers the very words to write...That is NOT automatic writing, which is demonic.

Actually, I do not believe you. You do not seem like somebody who research ancient writings 12 hours a day. You have too surface view of text for this being true, sorry.

Which writings were given to the writers by God? In my opinion the Bible is a collection of records/minutes and also inspirational writings, some parts as if coming from a direct connection to God, and the people who put the Bible together chose what to put in it and what not to put in it, according to their opinion of what was inspired by God. God speaks through inspiration, and also in a direct form which you cannot know if you haven't experienced a direct connection to God. And every person is capable of this connection because it is what Jesus wanted to teach us, how to communicate with God directly. He said he is the way, the truth and the life, which, in my opinion is another way of saying, I am the blueprint for how to directly communicate with God. However other will think he was saying he is a conduit. We all have our different thoughts, which is no reason to argue, only appreciate differentness.

Mainly it is a love which is pure, a love without fear, a love without reason, which gives you the WiFi password. This is why I am pretty sure most people have never experienced it. And while not experiencing it, they might have beliefs such as the whole Bible poofed out of thin air, or that it was 100% written by God rather than by God and by man, and maybe some of mans subjective reasoning in an ancient time, very different to modern times.

But wholey, the message is love. Because God is Love.

Do you know what dictation is? God gave the writers the very words to write...That is NOT automatic writing, which is demonic.
