I do pray for him.
That's good! Me too! And where two or more are gathered and in agreement in their prayer, it will be done. So we'll hope for that. :) It's in the waiting, after prayer, that I run into problems of impatience. I'm impatient often.

Help me by speaking openly about what fault or weakness you see in me.It might help me to see something I need to pray for. I'm feeling chastened and ready to hear because of my arrogant remark last night to meggido for which I had to apologize.
I'm all ears. :)
Can not do that. You say you apologized to meggido, so that shows you are not blinded.
I have not read all your post, but nothing comes to mind from those I have read.

Why can young Christians never learn about Scripture online without wading into a bloodsport over doctrine? Why is our community Bible study so often "not for the faint of heart" if Bible study is our strongest bond?
Hey Ramah,

Our bond is the unity of the faith and of course this has been contended and defended as you can see since NT times and is a frequent topic in NT Scripture. It took place then, it is taking place now.

People tend to believe the early NT churches were all full of unity, pure doctrine, holiness, &c when it reality they were infiltrated by false brother, false teachings, schism, heresy, division, anti christs and much more.

We are to guard the unity of the faith, we cannot manufacture it so the ongoing fight is still for the faith, Jude 1:3 &c. Unity is also not compromise of doctrine for the sake of so-called peace.

There is a local church here where everyone gets their chance, if they desire, to share "their truth." A buddhist I know goes there and he shared all the different gospels being preached and proclaimed how wonderful it was to dwell in "unity." No matter what you believe it is all good.

That's not unity it's compromise.

Now I must ask, is this what you desire in "bible study?" Everybody can preach their truth, and it's all good?

yeah would i be that brother to since you and your cronies support and call me a heretic for declaring that we are reborn in heaven too,...
2 Corinthians 5New Living Translation (NLT)

New Bodies

5 For we know that when this earthly tent we live in is taken down (that is, when we die and leave this earthly body), we will have a house in heaven, an eternal body made for us by God himself and not by human hands. [SUP]2 [/SUP]We grow weary in our present bodies, and we long to put on our heavenly bodies like new clothing. [SUP]3 [/SUP]For we will put on heavenly bodies; we will not be spirits without bodies.[SUP][a][/SUP] [SUP]4 [/SUP]While we live in these earthly bodies, we groan and sigh, but it’s not that we want to die and get rid of these bodies that clothe us. Rather, we want to put on our new bodies so that these dying bodies will be swallowed up by life. [SUP]5 [/SUP]God himself has prepared us for this, and as a guarantee he has given us his Holy Spirit.

True grace doesn't permit us to stay the same; after you know that you are not condemned - it empowers you to change.
This is where I see a split from the teaching Paul provides in romans.

We are not condemned because we walk in the Spirit.
It is walking in the Spirit and following God through love which means our status changes.
If we walk unto the flesh we are condemned and will die.

Our faith and our communion in Christ empowers us to walk in the Spirit.
So for me it is miss reading scripture to suggest you can walk in the flesh and not be condemned,
and because you are not condemned you are then empowered to walk in the Spirit.

I have never known anyone who sins but is forgiven, suddenly finding in the forgiveness they can
then be victorious. Long term this teaching just excuses sin while claiming one is not teaching that.

Now working through repentance, confession of sinful behaviour is freedom and liberation.
We often feel like puppets driven by our feelings when actually it is our perspectives that are wrong.

Are you rich because you know Christ or because you drive a sports can and live in a big house?
Are you happy because people envy you for the life you appear to have or because of the depth of
relationships you experiences in your daily life?

Completion of God's promises., yes..salvation no.

I believe salvation is restored relationship with God by being born again and walking with His holy spirit. We do that now and will continue to do that for eternity.
Our earthly Christian walk is preparation for our Heavenly walk and what God has prepared for us to do.

It's like the story of the man who said it was going to rain. He kept sending the other man out to see if any rain was coming yet. He was very patient it seems to me. He kept saying, go look again, it's going to rain.

I'm the one who shouts: OH please rain already!! Rain!!

Sorry Ariel, I was just trying to add to what you have already said - not meaning to be contrary or intrusive.

You worry too much. It's an open forum. You are free to add comments as God moves you.

I am not that easily offended by innocent comments of my brothers or sisters.

Wisdom is not given to one who is unstable and waver to the truth. JAMES; 1; 6-8' But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering; For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. 7; For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. 8' A double minded man is unstable in ALL his ways .

You are a real blessing to me. You are blessed by God because you are a peacemaker. :)
I drink that up when I become tired and thirsty.
You gave me a drink. :) Didn't know that, did you?
