Are you so foolish???

Having started in the Spirit are you perfected by the flesh?

I suppose someone who has not started in the Spirit would ask "Can we not continue our work of the flesh"? But it really is not profitable in light of the New Testament.
Maybe we are not understanding each other here. I am mot talking about "works" by keeping the Commandments...I don't keep them to gain favor or reward, I keep them simply because I love Him. I dont care if it is profitable, I care to love Him...because He loved me first

No my friend you need to learn to see that the High Priest writes the 10 on our hearts... love is given and shown so that we can love and worship in Spirit and Truth our Heavnly Father.
I'll agree with that

then fulfill them in the same way they are written,
in your heart

which is very different from

You must attend church on Saturday.

Good News we have a New Testament.
Yes!1 CORINTHIANS 11:25 After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is

the new testament in my blood:

this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.

Because of Jesus Christ having fulfilled teh law and the prphets, so we, who believe Him, are considered clean, without the guilt of our breaking the laws.

None of the above cancels out the law having been on stone, but now engraved on our inward parts, on the flesh tablets of our hearts, from being just as valid as ever.

Anyone who believes Jesus Christ knows which laws are guided by love and which laws are fulfilled, and which laws do not contin mercy.

All of the discussion on believing Jesus christ is very important, but all discussion of whether or not we should obey Him is ridiculous.

Anyone thinking because he or she has received the grace of God, yet believes obedience is wrong is deaf dumb and blind.

Your heart knows when you have reeived faith, hope and love that we are to obey our Father. Unhappily many do not understand that the Father and the Son are the saem, even with witnesses such as Isaiah, and God Himself.

All who read all of the W·ord know.
yes,
There is really only one thing worth being concerned about. [Luke 10 NLT]

The law Is perfect but man was carnal. The only way man could be In relationship with GOD was to fulfill the law perfectly and only GOD In CHRIST could do that.

That's grace.

Whosoever believes In the WORD of GOD shall have Eternal Life.
Whoever BELIEVES in the word of God shall have eternal life.

What do I do IF I believe in the word of God?

James 1:22-23 says that we should be doers of the word and not merely hearers of the word.

John 14:15 JESUS said that if we love Him, we will keep His commandments.

So are they right?

Do I only believe in the word, or do I have to be a doer of the word?

That is the second which is like the First.. it is affirming and not contrary to what the Messiah taught.

Like we can not say we love GOD if we love not one and other.. The Royal law is to be kept.
All the commands HANG on two...

You are right on the money mate. The problem is the same as it has always been. Not really listening or thinking about what you say.

there is an old saying that I will probably get wrong lol. But it goes something like this: You can never really know a person till you have walked a mile in their shoes.

There is a great truth in this saying. To really understand a person you must for a time drop your own view and step into theirs and try to see things from their perspective to really get what they are saying.

That does not happen here much at all. Instead people ignore that and try to argue their biblical view over another biblical view. But you can not argue two different views together. Rather you have to work from within the others view if you will have any chance of convincing them of anything.

From that point GOD does a work In you,you are just before GOD and your spirit made perfect.GOD's workmanship created In CHRIST unto good works that was before ordained that we should walk In them.

James 1:22-23 says that we should be doers of the word and not merely hearers of the word.
Romans 12:1-2
King James Version(KJV)

1.)I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

2.)And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

John 14:15 JESUS said that if we love Him, we will keep His commandments.
That's correct after you have first believed In the WORD of GOD and GOD has done a work In you,you will seek to purify yourself even as you are pure meaning, your spirit Is just before GOD and made perfect and now you should renew your mind to be like the new creation you have become.

It doesn't make sense to Reject Christ because you love Him. That's what you do when you work at the law in your own understanding.

Romans 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you do it out of ignorance, not so sure about the people who would encourage you...

Galatians 2:21 I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.

Why do you and others like you discourage persons from...

1. Working for God.

Should they be working for satan?
Jesus said that those who are not with us, are against us.
There's no middle ground.

If you're NOT working for God, you're working for the enemy.

2. Serving God as they see fit.
Just because You have a problem with works, doesn't mean everybody does.
You say we're free from the Law and yet you place others under Your Law.
You don't get to make up doctrine. Jesus already did that for us.
He said that if we love Him, we will obey His commandments.
He did Not say to forget about doing them because we are no longer under the Law.
.....which He Himself said He did not abolish.
Mathew 5:17

3. Are you stuck at pre-salvation theology?
Yes. Works cannot save us. Only God's grace through faith can save us.
Since posters talking about works are saved...could we move on to post salvation theology??

Did Jesus say we are to do good works ? Or not?
Easy question.

I could answer with one word...yes.
Can you?

Hi FranC,

Yep you are  I would not worry about Grandpa too much. He is just making up stuff for the sake of arguments sake. So many people here have explained to him that we believe we are not saved by our works and that it is Jesus that saves us from our sins as we have Faith in His Word alone and its because we love God that we follow him.... Sadly he just closes his eyes to reading people testimonies and also the Word of God. We pray for him and others though

God bless

Why did Jesus die on the cross?
For our sins

What is sin?
The transgresion of the law.

Which Law?
Thats widely debated answer.

Did Jesus need to die for your sins?
.....

Does that mean that you are breaking a law today, which require forgiveness?

No law = no need for forgiveness.

To those that observe the Sabbath today because of their tradition and background - to those that see that Christ Himself is our true Sabbath rest and they see Christ in the shadow of the Sabbath as outlined in the Old Testament - we say Happy Sabbath!

To those that say Christians are sinning and dis-obeying God by not following the Sabbath as in the Old Testament way - we will continue to stand against this anti-Christ belief that distorts and perverts the gospel of the grace of God in Christ.

Just as Paul said that he wouldn't stand for the Judaizing spirit to the Galatians for one hour - we too will do the same. A Judaizing spirit is one that comes to say "We must follow the law of Moses - which includes the Jewish way of Sabbath keeping or we are sinning and dis-obeying God."

Galatians 2:5 (NASB)
[SUP]5 [/SUP] But we did not yield in subjection to them for even an hour, so that the truth of the gospel would remain with you.
