There is nothing wrong with using humorous format to express the truth in His words.

Since there are non-Trekkies, the humor would be lost, but the texts in the pictures of questions and answers does apply His references as truth in reproving an erroneous point about Gentiles needing to keep the sabbath day & the law of Moses.

So address the truth of what those scriptural references are reproving and ignore the rest of the picture if you do not get the humorous format for it.

One can start with Acts 15:5-30 of what former Jews that are believers in Jesus Christ admit about how they could not keep the laws of Moses and so why put such a burden on the Gentiles?

Acts 15:[SUP]5 [/SUP]But there rose up certain of the sect of the Pharisees which believed, saying, That it was needful to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the law of Moses.[SUP] 6 [/SUP]And the apostles and elders came together for to consider of this matter.[SUP]7 [/SUP]And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe.[SUP] 8 [/SUP]And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us;[SUP] 9 [/SUP]And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.[SUP]10 [/SUP]Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?[SUP]11 [/SUP]But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they.

Address verse 10 above how these former Jews but now believers in Jesus Christ admitted that they could not keep the law of Moses.

Even Jesus pointed out their failures too.

John 7:[SUP]18 [/SUP]He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him. [SUP]19[/SUP]Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law?.........

That is why it was written.... in regards to the Old Covenant why it is no longer regarded by God..

Hebrews 8:[SUP]7 [/SUP]For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.[SUP] 8 [/SUP]For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:[SUP] 9 [/SUP]Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.[SUP]10 [/SUP]For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:[SUP] 11 [/SUP]And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.[SUP] 12 [/SUP]For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.[SUP]13 [/SUP]In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.

So stop exalting the keeping of the sabbath day as if justification comes by doing so to avoid sinning, and start exalting Christ Jesus as Lord of the sabbath that by Him dwelling within us, having made our bodies the Temple of the Holy Spirit, we are blameless for profaning the sabbath day because the Lord in us is able to make us stand by His righteousness alone in Heaven.

No saved believer in Heaven is going to boast about keeping the sabbath day holy.

1 Corinthians 1:
[SUP]29 [/SUP]That no flesh should glory in his presence.[SUP]30 [/SUP]But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:[SUP]31 [/SUP]That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.

Colossians 1:[SUP]20 [/SUP]And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.[SUP] 21 [/SUP]And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled[SUP] 22 [/SUP]In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:[SUP]23 [/SUP]If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;

Anybody wants to say that what He had done on the cross to bring us Home was not enough that they need to keep the sabbath day holy? Really? Better ask Him at that throne of grace what it means to cease from our works to rest in Him.

Your self-righteous accusations of my keeping the Sabbath, and my being under the lawa of Moses demonstrated just how powerful the enmy's grip is on your heart, soul, and mind.

I allow for brethren to "keep their Sabbath" on Sunday, wo why may I not beieve God that the day He selected is the Seventh day? You have no basis to argue with anyone, let alone accuse of being under the law of Moses.

God back to all those posts you have read of mind, and bring back once where I say I am under the law of moses.

I have said time and again we must learn from Jesus chrsit about the law and obedience. It is obvious you choose to be disobedient to Jesus Christ because you have not a clue as to what He teachis onthe Subject. Paul does, but you totally do not get what he is teaching.

As far as illustrating God'w Word for any reason, but especially your huimor, we are taught to always be sober minded, and proverbs warns against people who wink the eye and say "I was in jest."

Perhaps you would b e hapy were you to stasrt your own sect, perhaps the First Clowns of the Bible.

Why debate it. Can't we just give up our own interpretations of what we think this or that is and follow the direction of what we have been given?

What is Sunday? What is Saturday? The names of the week are all of pagan origin.

The Romans knew of seven bright objects in the sky: the Sun, the Moon, and five brightest planets. They named them after their most important gods. Saturn was named after the Roman god of agriculture. According to myth, Saturn introduced agriculture to his people by teaching them how to farm the land. Saturn was also the Roman god of time and this is perhaps why the slowest (in orbit around the Sun) of the five bright planets was named after him. In Roman mythology, Saturn was the father of Jupiter. Saturday is also named after the Roman god Saturn (Saturn's Day).

The Julian calendar was established in 45 B.C. Like the calendar of the Roman Republic before it, the early Julian calendar had an eight day week! Days of the week on the Republican (Roman Republic) and early Julian calendars were assigned letters: A through H. All early Julian calendars (fasti) still in existence date from 63 B.C. to A.D. 37.

The Baths of Titus, in Rome, were built A.D. 79-81. A stick calendar was found there which clearly shows Saturn, god of agriculture, as god of the first day of the week.

The pagan planetary week, like the Julian calendar that adopted it, is irreparably pagan. Historical facts reveal that neither the Scriptural Sabbath nor the Scriptural First Day can be found using the modern calendar. If it is important to worship on a specific day, than it is also important to use the correct, Scriptural calendar to count to that day.

There were two calendars available to the Israelites of Jesus’ day:

  1. The pagan, solar Julian calendar with its eight-day week;
  2. The Biblical, luni-solar Hebrew calendar with a seven-day week and a weekly cycle that restarted with each new moon.
It just might be that the first day of every new moon (biblical term for month) was a Sabbath day. Biblical days are numbered, not named. Which calendar do you think the Israelites (and Jesus) used?

In Exodus 16:1-7, we see the first Sabbath day recognized by Israel after their exodus from Egypt. This makes the 22[SUP]nd[/SUP] a Sabbath day. Nevertheless, it appears that the 17[SUP]th[/SUP] day of the first month was a Sabbath day according to Matthew 28:1. Even so, the 15[SUP]th[/SUP] day was a “high day,” in respect to Exodus chapter 16 previously mentioned. More than likely Matthew was written according to the Julian calendar, as was the book of John concerning the time of day.

I guess what I’m trying to say is that God set it up so He gives the “times and seasons” not humans according to our best capabilities.

We "debate" it in order to put a halt to the on-going apostasy since the advent of our Savior, Yeshua..

Not to wory, at least in my case, my heart, soul and mind go out to all here, but love is not always saying yes. Love is being here for the new-to-the Word to hear.

Reading scripture one can't find any other day of rest than the seventh day Sabbath, which day is popularly called saturday (actually fri sunset-sat sunset) in english. However, I would more see the importance of the willingness to keep the fourth commandment as the main principle of setting a day aside for rest (usually sunday observance is argued for on ground of Christ's resurrection at the first day) rather than to stress saturday only seeing the division it sometimes causes. I speak of this as someone who was into the so called hebrew roots for ten years.

This came to mind:

1 Samuel 15

22And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.

read all it is all fitting.

[h=1]1 Chronicles 28:9King James Version (KJV)[/h]9 And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the Lordsearcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.

If we consider the law of faith..

The man that in his heart believes Wednesday to be the Sabbath and loves GOD and sets his heart to obey... is that not the law of Faith? Those who know not the day.. I mean do any of us keep the exact Sabbath if we are scattered? Nay... we do it by what we truly believe.

Where the unbelieving Jewish people do it to the letter of the law...

We who believe the Messiah do it by Grace through Faith.

We know which is pleasing in Heavenly Fathers sight.. for we are taught by His Son and shall live by every word out of His mouth..

In 1582, when Pope Gregory XIII introduced his Gregorian calendar, Europe adhered to the Julian calendar, first implemented by Julius Caesar in 46 B.C. Since the Roman emperor's system miscalculated the length of the solar year by 11 minutes, the calendar had since fallen out of sync with the seasons.

Couldn't agree more. I am retired and am not restricted to a certain day of the week. But now, since a Pope named Gregory revised the Julian calendar more than 300 years ago, and those of us who hold down a 5 day a week job, have no alternative to observe the Sabbath day either Saturday or Sunday. Those are the only 2 days left in the week. Both days may be wrong but that's all we have today.

"And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time. (Daniel 7:25)

No one boasts here.. simply believing and sharing...
I do not believe any one knows all the requirement for keeping the sabbath day holy these days, because it also requires the Jews to enforce the keeping of the sabbath day holy on other Jews. When Jews do not keep the sabbath day holy, a severe punishment is to be inflicted... and it is death. So I can say it is a boast for any christian to say they are keeping the sabbath day holy as required by law from God under the Old Covenant.

You can enjoy a joke at our expense.. because GOD is not mocked.
Spock is representing a logical but yet fictional person that deals with known facts and is not shy in sharing those facts. That is the humorous but yet plain point in those pictures. The scripture references as applied to our reality... are truths.

You can believe in the cross... we believe the power of the cross is GOD and delight in His law.
Then believe in the power of the cross that since you have been saved, Jesus Christ is in you and you will always be blameless for profaning the sabbath day... that includes not executing believers & Jews for not keeping the sabbath.

saved by Grace through Faith unto good works.... if keeping Sabbath justified then the Jewish people would be saved.. but they are in unbelief and not yet grafted in... we believe and bear fruit...
You best believe that by believing you are saved which is why with Jesus Christ in you, there is no requirement to keep the sabbath day holy so you can cease from your own work as God did from His.

Keeping the sabbath day holy was to achieve not only salvation but to be identified as His chosen people. We are identified as the children of God by faith in Jesus Christ and THAT is why keeping the sabbath day under the Old Covenant has vanished away in light of the New Covenant with our bodies made into a Temple of the Holy Spirit with Jesus Christ in us.

So you can regard or esteem the sabbath day to honor Jesus by acknowledging that you can rest in Him from keeping the sabbath day holy BECAUSE He is in you and is with you always as a testimony of how you are saved by to sinners every where so that sinners & Jews everywhere can know keeping the sabbath day holy has nothing to do with christianity at all.

His Testimony teaches to Keep the Commandments and declares He is the Lord of the Sabbath.

I hope you do t mind but I will adhere to The Messiah rather than what you say.. sorry but I love My Master.

Now, I am not the least bit upset, nor do I feel defensive when I ask yu, have you read anything I have posted? Or are you choosing to be ignorant of what I have posted?
How you are applying scripture to respect the sabbath day and judging others by not doing so, even indirectly, is to be reproved. So that is evident in your replies to the reproving posts from others.

It gets tiresome, but ont over bearing, when you and others accue me of all people as being under the law of MOses.
Then why the defense when we only reproved the necessity of keeping the sabbath day holy to void sinning against Jesus Christ when we have been saying that because of Jesus Christ in us, we are blameless for profaning the sabbath?

Also, you are off balanced about my view on the sabbath, also because you do not read what I post,.

Your self-righteous accusations of my keeping the Sabbath, and my being under the lawa of Moses demonstrated just how powerful the enmy's grip is on your heart, soul, and mind.
Do you consider NOT keeping the sabbath day holy as sinning against God? You may not argue for keeping it for your justification, but you are ignoring why by profaning the sabbath day with Jesus Christ in us is why we are blameless.

I allow for brethren to "keep their Sabbath" on Sunday, wo why may I not beieve God that the day He selected is the Seventh day? You have no basis to argue with anyone, let alone accuse of being under the law of Moses.
I do not defend any brother or sister that believes the sabbath day has been moved to Sunday to observe when my posts has been reproving that we are justified for profaning the sabbath day or any day of the week.

God back to all those posts you have read of mind, and bring back once where I say I am under the law of moses.
Since you keep missing the point of my posts and thus assign guilt to yourself, if the shoe fits, you are the one putting it on. If you claim you are not under the law of Moses and that you just seek to honor Jesus that day, fine, but if you have been saying that it is a sin to NOT keep the sabbath day holy... then you are denying the righteous effect of having Jesus Christ in you for profaning the sabbath day... and that is you are balmeless.

I have said time and again we must learn from Jesus chrsit about the law and obedience.
I do not believe you have read His words on the Sermon on the Mount as well as you think you did. Read it again with Him.

It is obvious you choose to be disobedient to Jesus Christ because you have not a clue as to what He teachis onthe Subject. Paul does, but you totally do not get what he is teaching.
Jesus had taught on the subject in Matthew 12:1-7, but you chose to ignore why His disciples and YOU are guiltless for profaning the sabbath day.

You have no teachings from Jesus regarding the keeping of the sabbath day holy. Referring to the law in general is just you missing His point in Matthew 12;1-7 when He spoke about that specific subject of keeping the sabbath day.

As far as illustrating God'w Word for any reason, but especially your huimor, we are taught to always be sober minded, and proverbs warns against people who wink the eye and say "I was in jest."
Between mailmandan's reply and your post in this discussion which is now turning into an argument, you best remember your judgment above and compare to your next quote below and tell me which one was done in Christ's love?

Perhaps you would b e hapy were you to stasrt your own sect, perhaps the First Clowns of the Bible.
I can agree that the humor of mailmandan's has been lost on you guys, but to take offense for not seeing the humor is just you expressing your disapproval over out "lack of obedience" towards keeping the sabbath day holy which is really nothing short of your failure in why we rest in Jesus Christ from keeping the sabbath day holy, because of Him being in us is why we are all guiltless.... that includes you too.

The majority of the anti-commandment folks who are such great legalists. prefer to misunderstand and misinterpret Pau than to go directly to Jesus and hear Him to learn from Him. It is ironic because Paul confesses he learned from the gospel of Jesus christ only, so who is in the dark here?

Why does Jesus bother to instruct to do the following:
Mat 19:17 And he said unto him, Why askest thou me concerning that which is good? One there is who is good: but if thou wouldest enter into life, keep the commandments.
Mat 19:18 He saith unto him, Which? And Jesus said, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,
Mat 19:19 Honor thy father and mother; and, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.

When Jesus was asked what a person may do to enter into heaven He replied, "Believe I am the Son of God and you will be saved." How much more does anyone need to be convinced of grace?

Yet being convinced at least fromthe lips, many here do not believe He is sthe Son of god by their actions, for belieeing is being as much like He as is given possible...

No these do-nothing grace-onlies ae full of sweet words but not deeds, saying if we show are gratitde by good works we are not honoring Jesus, Who always did good works..

Now who isin darkness?

I just looked above with my magnifier.

Do I ask to "resepct the Sabbath?" Are you nuts? Respect God when He tells us to keep the Sabbathof the Lord Holy, separate.
There are many sabbaths, but only one SAbbath of the Lord.

Now do not be slow to understand, though I fear I am way lage to advise that, my contention if it truly were a contention is simple.

God designated the seventh day for His own reasons. I accept His will. It is a pty you have not paid enough attention to my posts to understand what I have said, but then, spreading darkness is not my idea of serving God.

Pay attention or do not respond. You have no justification for continually twisting and perverting what is posted by others. Only Sata would do that as a constant practice.

If you are truly in Jesus chrsit and you have no problems with your canscience in calling Sunday theSAbbath of the Lord, then go ahead. I do not fault you, butyou fault those who yet believe theFather. What dos thi say about the mercy you beieve you have received? Mine certainly is in tact.

His Testimony teaches to Keep the Commandments and declares He is the Lord of the Sabbath.

I hope you do t mind but I will adhere to The Messiah rather than what you say.. sorry but I love My Master.
We are not talking about NOT KEEPING all of His commandments in the N.T. as under the New Covenant.

We are specifically addressing the law of keeping the sabbath day holy. You have yet to prove that Jesus taught specifically to keep the sabbath holy. You have yet to prove that any letters to the church was to keep the sabbath day holy. In the Book of Revelation, there is not one warning to any of those 7 churches in Revelation about NOT keeping the sabbath day holy.

AND SO you are not adhering to what the Messiah said specifically about the keeping of the sabbath day in why you are guiltless for profaning it. And until you address His words in Matthew 12:1-7, you are not adhering to what the Messiah said at all about why His disciples were guiltless for NOT keeping the sabbath day holy.

Matthew 12:1At that time Jesus went on the sabbath day through the corn; and his disciples were an hungred, and began to pluck the ears of corn and to eat.[SUP] 2 [/SUP]But when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto him, Behold, thy disciples do that which is not lawful to do upon the sabbath day.[SUP]3 [/SUP]But he said unto them, Have ye not read what David did, when he was an hungred, and they that were with him;[SUP]4 [/SUP]How he entered into the house of God, and did eat the shewbread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him, but only for the priests?[SUP] 5 [/SUP]Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless?[SUP] 6 [/SUP]But I say unto you, That in this place is one greater than the temple.[SUP]7 [/SUP]But if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless.

If you love your Master... then listen to why His disciples are guiltless for profaning the sabbath day, and that is because He is with them. Look at the Master .... and may He show you another reason why to love Him over the keeping of the sabbath day.

You are discussing the lAW OFR kEEPING the Sabbath. Those who keep the Sabbath of the Lord separate from other days are "speaking of obehying ¨God," something that SEEms to be missing in your posts.

Those who know to do good and do it not... are unwilling and not setting their heart to obey.
Those who continue to keep the commandment under the Old Covenant to keep the sabbath day holy have yet to rest in Jesus Christ under the New Covenant.

Micah 6:[SUP]7 [/SUP]Will the Lord be pleased with thousands of rams, or with ten thousands of rivers of oil? shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?[SUP] 8 [/SUP]He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

It is finished. Jesus Christ has done it. There is no more keeping of the sabbath day holy so you can rest in the Lord Jesus Christ that He is able to make you stand without needing to keep the sabbath day holy. Do you believe Him or not? Do you actually acknowledge what He has done and adhere to His words in Matthew 12:1-7, or are you laying guilt on believers that do not keep the sabbath day holy, thus not listening to what He said in Matthew 12:1-7?
