36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38 This is the first and great commandment.
39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Proverb or Psalm all of Truth in due season.....

If you Love GOD you Keep His Commandments and they are not grievous...

That is what is taught throughout..

Some have a different understanding of Sabbath day to others.. and the Lord will judge.

We can believe share and keep but not judge each other's hearts..

If you come here to teach a different observarance of Sabbath know that we have believed the Messiah and will adhere by the Grace and Mercy of GOD.

labour in love according to your beliefs.. but teach not against the Messiah's Testimony it is not good to do so.

I would offer another perspective.

In the end of the matter the Sabbath represents the true fast, the of kind of fast that the disciples did not use to cast out lying spirits. The focus is on the fast not the rest from our serville work needed to maitain our bodies. But the work we perform to bring the gospel. Which im Mathew 12 is represented by corn.

Like many words the word Sabbath has lost its ability to convey a spiritual principle used in parables called rest (sabbaton) . The word Sabbath is rest with no other meaning attached. It is not a time sensitive words.

It would seem the parphrasers did not know what to do with certain portions of scripture most likely they were holding to some sort of works righteousness when they changed the meaning of rest a non time sensitive word to a word that is restrained by time. Like the word week a non Greek word at that time. They did not use the word week in their vocabulary but would use the word day or days. Like fore instance 7 days ago I went to visit some friends
Mat 12:1 At that time Jesus went on the sabbath day through the corn; and his disciples were an hungred, and began to pluck the ears of corn and “to eat”.

Mat 12:5 Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless?

We cannot judge one another in respect to a ceremonial laws used as a shadow in various parables.

Picking corn (corn symbolizes the gospel, the word of God in the same way as manna) It represents the work of bring the gospel into the world. The work that was set aside from the servile work required to daily feed these bodies of death .The true fast spoken of that the disciples could not cast out. The kind of fast that can be heard on high.

Many exapmples how the word corn is used in various parables

Gen 41:5 And he slept and dreamed the second time: and, behold, seven ears of corn came up upon one stalk, rank and good.

That parable informs of the perfect word of God using 7 to indicate the completeness of it as spiritual food

Lev 2:16 And the priest shall burn the memorial of it, part of the beaten corn thereof, and part of the oil thereof, with all the frankincense thereof: it is an offering made by fire unto the LORD.

In that parable it represents the pleasing odor of the prayers of the saints

Psa 78:24 And had rained down manna upon them to eat, and had given them of the corn of heaven.

Again representing the word of God coming down from heaven

Isa 36:17 Until I come and take you away to a land like your own land, a land of corn and wine, a land of bread and vineyards.
In that parable corn is used to represent the new heavenly Jerusalem as a city prepared as bride of Christ the church

Any time we hear the corn or mana of the word of God and harden not our hearts we have already entered his rest. Remember without parables Christ spoke not.

I dont know if this is off topic or not, but when you said "the kind of fast to be heard on High, I thought of these scriptures and wondered if they fit in true sabbath rest.

Isa 58:4 Behold, ye fast for strife and debate, and to smite with the fist of wickedness: ye shall not fast as ye do this day, to make your voice to be heard on high.

Isa 58:5 Is it such a fast that I have chosen? a day for a man to afflict his soul? is it to bow down his head as a bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? wilt thou call this a fast, and an acceptable day to the LORD?

Isa 58:6 Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?

Isa 58:7 Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?

Isa 58:8 Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the LORD shall be thy rereward.

Isa 58:9 Then shalt thou call, and the LORD shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity;

Isa 58:10 And if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noonday:

and all the rest of the chapter.

Proverbs 7:2 Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye.

but today we don't just keep the commandments, we fulfill them

2 Corinthians 3:9 For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory.
2 Corinthians 3:10 For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect,

by reason of the glory that excelleth.

Isaiah 58

[TABLE="class: passage-cols"]
[TR]
[TD="class: passage-col col-xs-12 first last"]Isaiah 58King James Version (KJV)

58 Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins.
2 Yet they seek me daily, and delight to know my ways, as a nation that did righteousness, and forsook not the ordinance of their God: they ask of me the ordinances of justice; they take delight in approaching to God.
3 Wherefore have we fasted, say they, and thou seest not? wherefore have we afflicted our soul, and thou takest no knowledge? Behold, in the day of your fast ye find pleasure, and exact all your labours.
4 Behold, ye fast for strife and debate, and to smite with the fist of wickedness: ye shall not fast as ye do this day, to make your voice to be heard on high.
5 Is it such a fast that I have chosen? a day for a man to afflict his soul? is it to bow down his head as a bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? wilt thou call this a fast, and an acceptable day to the Lord?
6 Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?
7 Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?
8 Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the Lord shall be thy reward.
9 Then shalt thou call, and the Lord shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity;
10 And if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noon day:
11 And the Lord shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.
12 And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.
13 If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the Lord, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:
14 Then shalt thou delight thyself in the Lord; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.

Matthew 11

5At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes. 26Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight. 27All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.
28Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

What was a burden imposed on the people by the Pharisees is made light by the Messiah, who we are to learn of.

Doing something because you are loved and love.. surely brings a delight.

St. Matthew 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy,

but to fulfil.
Indeed:

Luke 24

44And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me. 45Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, 46And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: 47And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. 48And ye are witnesses of these things. 49And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.

Yet.. the Commandments are taught through the Messiah's Testimony.. even given the Great and second like it.. the Royal law... which is against no Commandment but fulfills the 10....

You can not teach against the Testimony you can believe something else but not teach against because you are called least..

Doing the safe thing is like you saying you do not believe because of Jesus Christ in you, that you are guiltless for profaning the sabbath day.... and so you are laboring in unbelief by keeping the sabbath day and have come short of that rest because of unbelief.
James says in James 2:10: whosoever shall keep the law, and yet offend in one point he is guilty of all. Drop down to verse 11 and he tells us what law, he is speaking of. "For he that said, Do not committed adultery, said also, do not kill. Now if thou committed no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law". So we are not under the penalty of the law, but we keep it because we love God. No where in the Bible does it say that we are now guiltless to profane the Sabbath, the holy day of the Lord (Gen 2:1-3, Exo 20:8-11). When the disciples were picking corn on the Sabbath and we're scolded by the Pharisees, they were breaking the man-made laws of the Sabbath, not the Sabbath commandment. Jesus said that it is lawful to do well on the Sabbath days, ( that included plucking corn out of the field to sustain oneself) in the versions that phrase is translated as "on Sabbath". My point is that Jesus keep the Sabbath (according to Luke 4:16) and it is no where recorded in scripture that we are now guiltless to profane the Sabbath.

The problem here is that you are ignoring why Jesus gave you 2 examples of the saints actually profaning the sabbath day and were guiltless because they were in the Temple in the Old Testament, and then He said One greater than the Temple was here to the Pharisees that were accusing His disciples for picking corn on the sabbath day.

There is no reason to defend His disciples by citing two examples in the O.T. where the saints DID PROFANE the sabbath day and were guiltless because they were in the Temple unless His disciples were profaning the sabbath day.

The difference here is... His disciples were not in the Temple for which is why He said One greater than the Temple was here.

It is because Jesus Christ was with them is why His disciples were guiltless for profaning the sabbath day.

Now... if His disciples were not profaning the sabbath day by picking ears of corn, what would be the point of citing two examples from the O.T. where the saints DID PROFANE the sabbath day but were guiltless because they were in the Temple unless His disciples were profaning the sabbath day in order to defend them because Jesus was with them for the reason why His disciples were guiltless?

He is Lord of the Sabbath... what was the difference between His disciples and the Pharisees? Belief. GOD looks inwardly and knew they would have a man stoned by the law but not think twice about fetching a sheep for their own self on the Sabbath.

It was an outward show to esteem themselves above others... nothing to do with GOD.

How relieved the people must of been when the Son of David came to relieve them by Grace through Faith.

John 1

4
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. 15John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me. 16And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace. 17For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. 18No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.

Same thing for claiming to keep the sabbath day holy BUT doing so under the New Covenant; it has nothing to do with Jesus Christ but esteeming themselves over other saved believers.

I know saved believers as non sabbath day keepers are relieved.

Now that we have been bought with a price and sealed as His, our bodies are the Temples of the Holy Spirit where Jesus Christ is in us and is with us always. Being in the Temple was why the O.T. saints were guiltless for profaning the sabbath, and that is why all saved believers are guiltless for profaning the sabbath day because our bodies are the Temples of God; the result for believing in Him... grace for grace...

Grandpa.

On the cross our Lord, Jesus Christ, separated and divided the law as it should be applied.

If ou do not hear Him, and learn of Him, you will never understand grace with obedience,.

One place the law cannot be separated from and that is where the Holy Spirit has written it on
the fleshy tablets of our hearts..

If you canot see the difference between the majority of the laws Christ has fulfilled and teh laws on our hearts,
then you must pray to understand. Arguing with the obedient children ofGod will not help yout
to understand anything; YOU MUST LEARN FROM jESUS Christ for He taught PAUL.

I have learned from the Lord.

That is how I know a Judaizer when I see one.

They twist scripture back and forth to justify their emulation of the children of disobedience. Rejecting Grace and calling it "obedience". Its a pretty old scam. Probably why Paul spends so much time refuting it.
