It is zilch to do with that.

For the Jewish Antichrist to arise, a sovereign Jewish state is required. The prohibition is Roman suzerainty
Who ssid anything about a "Jewish" antichrist?

Is this biblical?

Why are people talking about flesh vs spirit when Jesus said exactly what the parable was about in 38-39? There's nothing to debate since Jesus explained it.
well debating in a discussion can have one grow in spirit as well as "learn" more about each other,so that one can perhaps discern whom is a pretender and whom is contender for God,as the subject is considered.

no need to get upset a thread has no power, those whom participate in it are those whom decide when an answer is reached and if it will stay active, just because Jesus has told the meaning of this parable of wheat and tares, has no bearing on if someone would like to "learn more" through discussion of it's meaning, for if everyone just posted answers and never asked questions then nothing would be "gained" and would make a "discussion" into merely"statements".

There is simply nothing to suggest that the person/thing withholding is the Holy Spirit.Miknik thinks the HS leaves the world entirely, hence I reminded her that this is impossible.

To whom did God make that promise? What about those who reject God?

In OT times, God hid His face – see Deut 31:17-18; Deut 32:20; Is 59:2.

And please note, just because 2 Thess 2:7 indicates the Restrainer is taken out of the way there is no suggestion that He is not working in some other manner than the manner in which He works in our day and time ... just as He works in our day and time differently than He worked prior to Pentecost.

Do you believe Thessalonians?

3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

Why do you hyphenate the word Jewish?

What is Jesus? He is King of Israel, and King of the Jews. He is the Christ, the Anointed One. The King. Who is the Anti Christ. Anti in Greek means 'in place of'. The AntiChrist is the person who lays claim to be King of Israel.

God exercised control on Israel through Babylon. He exercises control in different ways, therefore your reasoning is flawed.

How do we know that the Restrainer is the Holy Spirit?

We know because God is in control of everything and nothing happens until HE determines it will happen. God restrains the hand of the man of sin until God determines the time He will no longer restrain ... then shall that wicked one be revealed (2 Thess 2:8).

I feel we have gone off a bit, but maybe not. The great thing about Scripture is that there is always an answer, if you search diligently. RDBD reminded us (Holy Spirit at work) at the start of Paul's visit to the Church at Thessalonica. Let's check back to it:

17 Now when they had passed through Amphipolis and Apollonia, they came to Thessalonica, where was a synagogue of the Jews: 2 And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures, 3 Opening and alleging, that Christ must needs have suffered, and risen again from the dead; and that this Jesus, whom I preach unto you, is Christ. 4 And some of them believed, and consorted with Paul and Silas; and of the devout Greeks a great multitude, and of the chief women not a few. 5 But the Jews which believed not, moved with envy, took unto them certain lewd fellows of the baser sort, and gathered a company, and set all the city on an uproar, and assaulted the house of Jason, and sought to bring them out to the people. 6 And when they found them not, they drew Jason and certain brethren unto the rulers of the city, crying, These that have turned the world upside down are come hither also; 7 Whom Jason hath received: and these all do contrary to the decrees of Caesar, saying that there is another king, one Jesus.

And there you have it. The controversy of who is King of Israel. Paul was preaching Jesus the King, (christos), and the Jews objected, because Israel was under fealty to Rome and the King was Herod.

So now you can understand the he, Caesar, Pope, little horn, and the what, Roman Empire.

So how did you read 2 Thessalonians 2?

I'm more interested in how you understand all of 2 Thessalonians 2 since you seemed not to initially understand who the "HE" who holds all things back iwas

And spent quite a lot of time questioning this "HE" and my "quirky understanding"

Reading in context all of 2 Thessalonians 2 have you now come to the proper conclusion in who the "HE" of 2 Thessalonians 2:7 is?

And if so, are you in agreement that it is THE HOLY SPIRIT?

No Miknik, you introduced a strange HE

"when HE who holds all things back is taken out of the way"
There is no HE who holds all things back in Thessalonians

Enow,

Do you agree with what is written in revelation 20

And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,
8And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. 9And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them. 10And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
Yes.

But applying the wheat and the tares parable to that event is problematic when it involves a harvest. Jesus said the field was the world; and so when you harvest anything from the field in taking out of the field to the barn, it is taken out of the world. What is left behind are those tares that had offend and do iniquity for which they are "excommunicated" out of His kingdom to be received into the Father's kingdom which is above. The furnace of fire is in the world when the tares are burned up
.

So the event you had referred to is God defending His saints at Jerusalem. They are not being "harvested" in being taken out of the world to the Father's kingdom above.

I see why you would apply the wheat & the tares to that event, but again, it is problematic when the elements of the parable suggests taking the wheat out of the field and thus out of the world.

God exercised control on Israel through Babylon.
Ultimately Babylon shall fall (Rev 18:2).

At the time when God chooses to remember her iniquities (Rev 18;5), Babylon will be no more (Rev 18:21).

There is no HE who holds all things back in Thessalonians
If you say so
it will be easier to convince yourself that there will be no tribulation, no day of wrath, if you can also remove all that is said in 2 Thessalonians 2

God uses different forms of control and restraint. Just because the HS might be one of them does not make it necessarily the one referred to in Thessalonians, anymore than it is necessarily Babylon.

Stop being petulant.
There is no he who holds all things back in Scripture. Nothing to do with me.

If you say so
it will be easier to convince yourself that there will be no tribulation, no day of wrath, if you can also remove all that is said in 2 Thessalonians 2
