Jesus restored Peter when He asked him 3 times if Peter loved him

scene at the beach, after the resurrection

saving faith is not simply believing as some indicate

many believe, not all are saved

if even the devil and his angels believe, that should be enough to logically grab that truth and apply it
Believing in God and trusting into the finished work of Christ for salvation are two entirely different deals!

The devils believe in God, they have sen him, but they do not trust into the resurrection of Jesus for redemption, nor is it offered u to them!

I guess some people prefer the huge mega churches, which is certainly attested to by the mere fact of their existence. It is easier to go unnoticed and unchecked there, that's for sure. In small fellowship groups, people get to know each other much more intimately, reading the Word of God and sharing their concerns as it relates to God's Word, praying for each other, and yes, *gasp* even breaking bread together. Jesus started with a small group :)
Ad Jesus said, "Where two or three are gathered in my name"......I dare to say a small group has a better chance of being right before God and probably more authority based upon said righteousness..........fully expect an argument on this one...save your breath!!

I wonder why people cannot call Jesus by his name.....does using messiah make one more holy or something?

Gabriel-->>You shall have a son and shall call his name JESUS........JESUS is his name.....!!
had to come off ignoring you to address this...

Messiah is the english translated word for the Hebrew word mashiyach...which means anointed or anointed one...Messiah does not mean Jesus....

Yehoshua means Jesus Yeshua Hamashiach means Jesus the Messiah

When you say Christ you are saying the anointed one...when you say Messiah you are syaing the anointed one...

When you read Jesus Christ in scripture it is referring to Jesus' humanity....when you read Christ Jesus in scripture it is referring to Jesus' divinity

You just cut off your nose to spite your face and your lack of knowledge on the topic, and prove your utter, total and complete ignorance on this matter....it is not love1 that is showing to be a pharisee and spiritual and full of religion, but it is you....

How can you be arrogant and boast and brag of being seminary trained and you are ignorant of these meanings....This is seminary 101 and you just flunked out both intellectually and spiritually...

Really?!!! I STILL must not be mature, having a hard time just letting the venom roll off my back, because this is the type of disgusting post that makes me want to take a long break from CC.
Hi PennEd, no one is willing to acknowledge the fact that there are wolf's in sheep's clothing on this thread. They will insult you and belittle your intelligence, and criticize your God given faith. After that they will pit one believer against another so that they can divide the flock. Their end game is to tell you stories so as to shame you and then spoon feed their poisonous doctrine to the weakest among God's people. These are common tactics of mind control and exactly how cults get their start. you will hear precious little of our Saviour and just enough to keep their poisoned theology going. And God forbid you should criticize any of their words or actions because you will become their next prey - thats just what they do. mercy, mercy, mercy.

I believe Peter. Like Abraham, believed God and it was accredited to him as righteousness. which was long before Abraham did done work, and many many years (I believe decades) before he offered his son.

Jesus asked peter three times from a reason, He told him basically, I know you can not say you agape me now. But I still want you to go do my work, I trust you.

God has done the same for me, we all need encouragement, Saying you will or have lost salvation if you sin is snot encouragement to grow and continue to walk, that encourages fear not trust.
Amen.......Peter, whom do you say I am....His answer proves he was a saved child of God with ETERNAL LIFE dwelling in him.......!!

i have had people suggest to me you can not know or follow Gods will without a good attendance at a building...
Are you conflating His bride with a building? Yes. You most certainly are.

You do not attend the "the assembling of yourselves together" do you? Not a member of a church, right, but still seek validation and justification, yes?

One can say they love Christ all they want, but when disdain, disrespect and repudiation is show for His bride, something is sorely amiss. But hey, at least man will celebrate with you. Christ? Not so much.

Job 25-27.

Job knows his Redeemer will some day live?

No! Job proclaims he KNOWS HIS REDEEMER LIVES!!

By faith he believes this.
Amen...Abraham believed God and it was put to his account as righteousness...and David accurately describes one who has the imputed righteousness of God by faith void of works......Abel offered blood and was declared righteous by faith......imagine that!!

Amen, church is not a building made with hands, it is a gathering of people in Gods name.
As Peter said....We as living stones make up a habitation for the spirit when we come together.........the people are the church....the building is nothing but brick amd mortar!

Yeah, like you changed my words. You lie about what I said and then blame me for your false accusations against me. You have done it quite a few times.
I've started watching what you post because of the same thing, but I must say I haven't see you do such lately.

Maybe you burned him, & that's now all he sees. It happens.

Its the old "sinners prayer" straw man, no one here teaches a person can just say some sinners prayer and be saved apart from true repentance and faith.

anyon can say a prayer, only God knows who means it though.

The He issue is they try to make God human, like he can not know who has tru saving faith, so he needs proof.
I agree, but also think we make it more than it is....the one guy would not look to heaven, beat on his breast and asked for God to be merciful unto him as a sinner.....Jesus said he went away justified <--rendered innocent.....same with the thief on the cross....we deserve what we are getting, but this man has done nothing wrong..Lord remember me in your Kingdom....same result......at the end of the day we cannot complicate the simplicity that is found in Christ.....nor can we water it down as well.....!

O.T. saints looked forward--->messiah/cross/Jesus <---N.T. saints look back

Both saved by faith thru grace......regardless of the law keepers and workers for who think one can lose it!

what does it matter what 'they think'???

now, it should only matter what our Holy Saviour thinks, as we begin and continue our
new lives/journeys for Him, because of our Love, thankfulness, assurance, hope,
leading us into His Glorious Eternity..............
