what I find interesting, is that some will refuse to allow an op to be about the op

they come and post, divert, disagree and then when they make their own thread, they tell others to stay on topic

I guess that is what you do when you have an agenda

Here is that vers in question in the op once more.

Gen 2:3 And God blessed the seventh day, and hallowed it; because that in it he rested from all his work which God had created and made.

Thank you 7 for keeping me on track.. God bless you.

Its a cult because they have one leader, prophetess Ellen G.White and consider their writings to be inspired on the same level as Scriptures are.

So its on the same level as the mormonism or Jehovah's Witnesses are.

how could you possibly come to the conclusion the op is about Adventists or anything other than what was posted?

you know, I don't really agree that we need to keep a specific day, but I think it is good to do so

giving God one day a week after He gave us the other 6 should be considered reverence for His works and His act of creation

people complain about the nastiness in the BDF. consideration for another's op would be normal for a Christian I would expect

but that is often not at all what happens

that's all I have to say to you. nothing to discuss

Because there are only two groups pushing this agenda of "keep 7th day" - Jews and SDA. If somebody believes that and is not a member of SDA or is not a Jew, I think he is at least influenced by their materials.

there are smart alecks all over the place in the BDF

they are not very wise though

people like to use or point to 'Jesus is our Sabbath rest', not understanding that He completed the work of God and so they think it means they are free to do whatever they want

this nonsense is creeping into the church more and more and reveals the truth of apostasy and leaving the teachings Paul told Timothy he had known from youth

I'm not a lawkeeper nor am I going to break a Bible over someone's head for not observing one day a week

I figure that is their decision. what I do disagree with, is the apparent NEED to ruin the threads of those who wish to discuss what you wish to discuss

and by the way, many do not understand why we have the law, why it was given or what it meant or the fact it is still in effect and condemns all who break it. this is one reason why Christians want to be rid of it. you can't get rid of it. however, we are no longer under condemnation and if someone feels they are, they need to get that straightened out between them and God

mimicking what another teaches does not mean you understand

I am sure you got your ideas from them. Whether you realize that or not. You did not get them in normal church.

We are discussing the Seventh Day, not your rest, real or imagined. Again, the verse in discussion.

Gen 2:3 And God blessed the seventh day, and hallowed it; because that in it he rested from all his work which God had created and made.

Man cannot change the order of creation, it is a reality that cannot be changed.......
And some are saying that Jesus is our true Sabbath rest and that scriptures speak of Christ Himself and of what He has accomplished.

Hebrews 4:9-11 (NASB)
[SUP]9 [/SUP] So there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God.

[SUP]10 [/SUP] For the one who has entered His rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from His.

[SUP]11 [/SUP] Therefore let us be diligent to enter that rest, so that no one will fall, through following the same example of disobedience.

People are saying that they are resting in Christ's work for us and that He alone is our true Sabbath rest and Gen. 2:3 speaks of Christ Himself. You can have another belief if you choose to....:)..

Observe all of the nature givenus by our Father.

God works today, and I believe He will eternally, but you must keep in mind nothing is an effort for our Father.

Now do your respect when He gave the order of creation, or do you believe the Seventh day has been changed by men to the first? That is a perverse manner of thinking one undersands when God designated theorder of creation and the Seventh day as the last with rest.

In Europe, week starts with Monday and ends with Sunday.

In the USA, week starts with Sunday and ends with Saturday.

You live in the USA, so what change do you have in mind? Your 7th day is still Sabbath (or Saturn´s day?)

does it ever occur to you that maybe people have a different way to express their acknowledgement of Christ's finished work?

do you have a burr under your saddle if someone wants to observe the Sabbath? I don't see where he condemmed anyone who doesn't

aren't you the one who tells others they are free to believe as they want and wouldn't that include worship as they will?

Jesus is our Sabbath rest...does it occur to you that JESUS was also there at creation?

what does that mean? how does that effect God's rest? did Jesus rest too?

you seem to just want to shut down the conversation by posting the same thing over and over

Yes what you have cut and pasted is so, but the verse is referring to God having cmpleted His work ordered the week finalizing on the Seventh Day. You see I have not been in any of these discussions saying much other than the Seventh Day's order in cration has not been changed by God.

If you like to cut and paste, here is a paste that says we must labor to enter into His rest. Remember all of this particular writing has to do with the Hebrws in the wilderness not having faith and being "disobedient" . I understood and understand this teaching......but waving it around unseeing eys and unhearing ears does not good.

Read all of the Word..........I have been for many decades, and I am well aware I do not know much, I just wish others would understand this is true ofmost flesh.

Heb 4:8 For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.
Heb 4:9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.
Heb 4:10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
Heb 4:11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.
Heb 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Where did the Messiah teach us that?
When Jesus said that the Son of Man is LORD of the sabbath, He established the proper role of the sabbath, and He consistently "worked" on the sabbath by healing people. Christ provoked the ire of the religionists by deliberately "working" on sabbath days, and in fact they plotted His destruction and His death for this reason, and for the fact that He made Himself equal with God.

But since He Himself is the Creator who rested on the seventh day, we should try and understand, that when He said that He is LORD of the sabbath, He has the full right to determine what the sabbath should mean. He was pointing to the time after His resurrection when new moons, holy days, and sabbaths would be regarded as "shadows", Christ Himself being the reality, and our eternal rest in Him being the true sabbath. And that is plainly stated in Scripture.

Now coming to your use of the word "Messiah". While Jesus of Nazareth walked this earth, He presented Himself as the Messiah of Israel. BUT ISRAEL REJECTED THEIR MESSIAH. So Jesus is no longer merely "Messiah". He is THE LORD JESUS CHRIST and that is His proper designation, as you will note in the New Testament. And when He comes the second time, He will come as "KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS" not as Messiah to Israel. However, the Antichrist will present himself as "Messiah" to fool Orthodox Jews before the second coming of Christ. And actually the whole world will be deceived by this counterfeit "Messiah". So what you need to understand is that today "Messiah" can no longer be used for Christ. That is why doubting Thomas said "My Lord and my God".

Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ. (Acts 2:36).

Gen 2:3 And God blessed the seventh day, and hallowed it; because that in it he rested from all his work which God had created and made.

Is your faith on the Seventh day including what God has made holy?

There is nothing wrong with other Sabbaths, but there is only one that is hallowed by
God and to be kept separate.

It is not to be made common by the will of men; this is holding man's word over
the Word of God, and this should not be done.

So why do you suppose when God did this, upon creation's finish, it is different from
other days? I know, but this is only because I believe God.

God bless all on this Sabbath of the Lord. God bless all on your first day sabbath from Rome.

Yes,,my mind goes to God on the seventh day and the first day and the second day and the third day.... And one day for rest, the Sabbath.

I have said this many times about Sabbath keeping so I will say it again so that no mis-representation will be made.

I will post again what I have said many times in the past just so that there is no mistaking of what is really being said.

I have even said "Happy Sabbath" on Fridays to those that see Christ in the Old Testament way of the Sabbath and observe the day as they feel to "looking at what Christ has done...they see Christ as their true Sabbath rest".

Quote:

If we think that keeping the Sabbath means what we do or don't do one a certain day - whether Saturday or Sunday - we have missed Christ Himself who is our true Sabbath. The Old Testament view of the Sabbath is a mere shadow of the real thing - which is Christ Himself.

I encourage all of us to look into the New Covenant and we will begin to experience the true Sabbath rest that the Old Testament alludes to - and it is Christ Himself.

I do not look at all Hebrew Roots or Sabbath observers as outlined in the Old testament adherents as all the same.

As I have said before - there are many that are of authentic Jewish descent and they like their traditions but they do not say that others need to observe the Sabbath or feasts as in the law of Moses or you are dis-obeying God and sinning.

They observe these things to see Christ as the fulfillment of them - not as something they "need" to do now.

This group has excellent teachings on how Christ has fulfilled the Law and show Christ in every part of the Old Testament. Jesus said that all the scriptures speak about Him.

This group of believers are a major blessing to us in the body of Christ and are not Judaizers such as Paul encountered and that are also in the extreme sects of Hebrew Roots or Sabbath observers as in the Old Testament way that say believers in Christ must "observe the Sabbath and the feasts like in the law of Moses - or they are dis-obeying God and sinning".

Those - run away from as fast as you can as it is a distortion of the gospel of the grace of God in Christ's work on the cross and resurrection!

But do not put all Hebrew Roots or Sabbath observers people in the same boat as the extreme sects because they are not the same.

Here is where this quote came from:

Apparently you are not versed in the Lunar calendar, the one used by the Hebrews and the Bible. YOu are so indoctinated with the Solar calendar.......learn the difference, and you my come to understand.

When I deal with times and the Word, I try to make all reference to the calendar of the Bible.....the Luanr.

I know it is very difficult for many but the question is abuot the Seventh day......the verse.

Gen 2:3 And God blessed the seventh day, and hallowed it; because that in it he rested from all his work which God had created and made.
