Gen 2:3 And God blessed the seventh day, and hallowed it; because that in it he rested from all his work which God had created and made.

Is your faith on the Seventh day including what God has made holy?

There is nothing wrong with other Sabbaths, but there is only one that is hallowed by
God and to be kept separate.

It is not to be made common by the will of men; this is holding man's word over
the Word of God, and this should not be done.

So why do you suppose when God did this, upon creation's finish, it is different from
other days? I know, but this is only because I believe God.

God bless all on this Sabbath of the Lord. God bless all on your first day sabbath from Rome.

Jesus completed the work God sent Him to do. Therefore He is our 'rest' .

God completed His work and rested.

We believe in Jesus so we rest in His completed work.

IMO, this has nothing to do with saying we no longer need to observe our Creator on one day of the week set aside

As scripture in the NT also tells us to NOT forbid the assembling of ourselves as believers, I personally do NOT see how we can avoid a day if we wanted to

unless of course one decides to write that instruction off and fancy they are their own body and answerable ONLY to God even though the Bible says the complete opposite

so bottom line for me is that yes, we should observe day for our God but I am not hung up on Sat/Sun

I don't understand this desire to rewrite the Bible and make it some kind of handbook where we pick and choose what we would like to apply and just disregard what makes us uncomfortable or hinders our own personal plans

Like Kayla, my first thought after reading the headline on your thread was "yes, my mind does go to God on the Sabbath Day, but no more than on every other day of the week." There is nothing I do on the Sabbath that I do not do every day. It sort of all runs together. The week is like one long day with Christ being the intentional focus most of the time.

I worship all 7 days - and think of Him most of the time. And the most amazing thing is that Christ is also thinking of me all of the time. 24/7. There is no special day when He is more in tune with me.

So, I would ask of the op, what do you expect of me to do differently in order to honor the Sabbath Day. There is no leaving my home anymore to go to a specific church group because of many things.

Apparently you are not versed in the Lunar calendar, the one used by the Hebrews and the Bible. YOu are so indoctinated with the Solar calendar.......learn the difference, and you my come to understand.

When I deal with times and the Word, I try to make all reference to the calendar of the Bible.....the Luanr.
I have no interest in it and no need of it.

What is important is the New Covenant. Not Jewish calendar.

When we are no longer taught of works of the Holy Spirit, when there is no need to spread teh Word of god, when people are just and perfect, then I believe Jesus Christ will give me rest.

Until that time, I will continue obeying when He gives me work to do, as I have in the past. I will continue striving to be perfect as Jesus, though I can never do so, and I rely on God finishing the Work He began in me on the day His HOly Spirit entered into me. YOu see He is even working on me, He yet works.

As did Jesus so do we who believe HIm and attempt to follow Him, we do the work given us....... any day.

I made reference to the Hebrew Calendar and the lunar calendar...the same. YOu seem to have an issue with it possibly being Jewish, just as you take issue with SDA¡s. I am sorry the op has drifted and I have been drifted with it.

If you have issues with ethnic groups, denominations, an probably plitical views, you should nto discuss here. If the times of teh Bible do not interest you..it is certain you are in the wrong place.

I have no interest in it and no need of it.

What is important is the New Covenant. Not Jewish calendar.

Because there are only two groups pushing this agenda of "keep 7th day" - Jews and SDA. If somebody believes that and is not a member of SDA or is not a Jew, I think he is at least influenced by their materials.
It is strange how you believe we must be influenced by other 'peoples matereal....does it ever occur to you that we are 'influenced by the Holy Spirit to do the Will of GOD ???

Your reply was too quick to have truly considered my intent.

I did not say you are stupid. You have said it.
Do you mean, that in replying too quickly, I did not truly consider your intent? As in the allowing of seducing/flattering spirits, (to name just a few...spirit of anti christ comes to mind as well) or going down a road, or train of thought, I have already been down, and found the bottomless pit? Or, by God's grace/Blessing/s, or even by my repentance in the "considering", and have turned hence, and being healed? Then, I heartily answers YES!

Furthermore, in my spiritual journeyings, and healings, I have found there are places, or trains of thought, I should not go down, and, some trains of thought I cannot ride on, nor with. Therefore, I shall not apologize because I didn't peruse, or study too long concerning your intent!

Tis my hope and prayer for you, that you should become this stupid.

there are 2 works of God that I see being a part of the discussion for the purposes of the op

the one being when He created

the other being when Jesus did the work of God and ultimately was the final sacrifice

both, are finished with a rest from the 'work'

we know we cannot keep the commandments

we know all the law was kept by Christ and He died on our behalf, THEREFORE, we rest in Him...that is what creates the Sabbath rest in the sense of 'work

see, God rested from His work and we rest from trying to keep what we cannot keep

however, I do not see where that would mean we no longer observe that rest

I hope that makes sense? you see, I am not saying we do not rest; I AM saying we rest more than one way

and I disagree that we simply do away with a day of special regard

obviously as some have said, we observe every day in Jesus but I realize you are not saying this and really neither am I :)

We are all work in progrees, and God is the One doing the Work. Yes, I believe to hear and do as Jesus teaches, thisi is not work but a great pleasure whenI know exactly what it is H would have me do....and He does let us all know.

If a thousand years is as a day when it is passed with God, we are on the very edge of the Seventh day. This is according to scripture and the Hebrew calendar, the lunar calendar.

It pleases me to believe we are on the verge of the sabbath of the Lord, and ie pleases me most to believe I know that it must be the Seventh Day and it cannot be any other day........ God bless you and all who are seeking to please God.l

I think some may perceive that you may be saying observing the Sabbath is a work you do for salvation but I do NOT see this in what you are saying; I think they misunderstand

when God rested it simply means He stopped his work of creation (we know creation is ongoing as He made it so it would actually be)

in Christ we also stop
all our self efforts at creating holiness as God requires and we acknowledge that Jesus COMPLETED the obligation for holiness before God because He never sinned

in the observance of the Sabbath (also the 4th commandment) we see the foretelling of God's Son

the 10 commandments and all the other ceremonial/ritual/sacrificial laws and observances were never ending; a continual cleansing from sin through sacrifice (blood) while God maintains that the blood of bulls and goats could never really wash away sin guilt.

so, enter Christ whose blood DOES wash away all sin from the believer in Him and in His work

Jesus has sat down at the right hand of the Father because His work is FINISHED

we are in Christ and our labor to God is finished

this in no way means we labor no more in what God sets for us to do nor does it mean we have nothing to do

Christ Himself said there are few laborers...may be too many resting I guess...
:(

Jesus is also Lord of the Sabbath (He was there at creation) and IN Him, we have that Sabbath that He is

everything points to Jesus from Genesis to the end of Revelation

When Jesus said that the Son of Man is LORD of the sabbath, He established the proper role of the sabbath, and He consistently "worked" on the sabbath by healing people. Christ provoked the ire of the religionists by deliberately "working" on sabbath days, and in fact they plotted His destruction and His death for this reason, and for the fact that He made Himself equal with God.

But since He Himself is the Creator who rested on the seventh day, we should try and understand, that when He said that He is LORD of the sabbath, He has the full right to determine what the sabbath should mean. He was pointing to the time after His resurrection when new moons, holy days, and sabbaths would be regarded as "shadows", Christ Himself being the reality, and our eternal rest in Him being the true sabbath. And that is plainly stated in Scripture.

Now coming to your use of the word "Messiah". While Jesus of Nazareth walked this earth, He presented Himself as the Messiah of Israel. BUT ISRAEL REJECTED THEIR MESSIAH. So Jesus is no longer merely "Messiah". He is THE LORD JESUS CHRIST and that is His proper designation, as you will note in the New Testament. And when He comes the second time, He will come as "KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS" not as Messiah to Israel. However, the Antichrist will present himself as "Messiah" to fool Orthodox Jews before the second coming of Christ. And actually the whole world will be deceived by this counterfeit "Messiah". So what you need to understand is that today "Messiah" can no longer be used for Christ. That is why doubting Thomas said "My Lord and my God".

Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ. (Acts 2:36).

You have not answered my question and do not concern yourself with my use of Messiah.. because the name you use is Transliterated. You will find me using all different Biblical references to talk about the Messiah. Lamb of GOD, Son of David, King of Kings, Lord of Lords... Good Shepherd, Bishop of our souls. Yahshua and even Jesus... but all this in mind and then I remember A New name is still to be revealed in good time.

And above all is the Truth that GOD knows our inwards and nothing the clay speaks is not understood by the Great Potter.

Lord of Sabbath teaches you to Keep the Commandments and gives you Truth and example to follow.

Of course the 7th day is holy of that there is no doubt. But so are the first, the second, the third and
all the rest. When we are one one in God, we are one in the Spirit and that means every day is holy.
So when we are one in the Spirit, how can we possibly say I have to wait to the 7th day to be Holy.
We cannot come to life in the Spirit by just reading words. We need to repent (change our hearts)
so that we are living in the heart of God. Christ died for once and for all for the remission of sins.
We need to grasp that once we have surrendered to God, we have given up our own will to cling to His
will. That should be every hour of ever day. So if only one day stands out, what about all the rest of
the days, what are we doing on those days if not living in the heart of God.

Hebrews9: [SUP]14 [/SUP]How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death,[SUP][c][/SUP] so that we may serve the living God!

My own mind goes to what God has done for us all. He made all that is, and anything we have is from Him. He is our Provider. He does not ever need rest, for He cannot suffer fatigue as do creatures allied to corruption. He set aside a day, and later we are told it is for us to rest. That day also represents the millennium to come.

In this age it is a day to rest and contemplate our relation with Him, though we all spend most of that day just resting, it is because of His gift to us, and He does share our rest with us in the sense He is with us and blessing us.

Perhaps there are those who do not understand teh idea of keeping that seventh day separatete from the six, and there is no problem there, not with me anyway. However it seems those who are violently grace only do have a problem with brethren who do notmind setting that day aside in remembrance of all that had been done for us and all that is to come. I love it.

If you believe it is someother day and you are of a clear conscience in the sight of God with it, go right ahead, I do not judge you, but please do not judge your brethren who believe what God has taught them.

Especially you who quote Paul in place of Jesus christ for he, Paul that is, is the first to tellus he learns of Jesus chrsit and teaaches only the Gospel of Jesus Christ for there is no other gospel.

If you are truly in Jesus Christ, you will halt in attmpting to force your brethren who desire to be obedient not to be,but I fear I see no one in these rooms who truly believes Pau who are against obedience.

It is a horrible shame. God bless all who hear and do the teachings of Jesus christ, wheter it be first/hand as I do, or second/hand as people who only hear Paul do.........
