SO what...earning crowns have ZERO to do with the eternal salvation that is given freely by faith.....wake up to the truth!

Revelation 3

And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead. 2Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God. 3Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee. 4Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy. 5He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. 6He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

So...you believe a vanilla café blend of faith and works to gain, keep or embellish salvation?

Galatians 1 and 3 condemns this view as foolish, bewitched, double cursed and no power.........and one that Paul did not preach....a gospel of a DIFFERENT KIND......

You do know that the vanilla café blend gospel you hold on to is exactly what Jesus addresses when he states that MANY will come before my throne saying....HAVE WE NOT.........

Galatians 1-3 does not condemn those Faithful to the Lord's Testimony.

The Lord tell those that work iniquity to depart... not those that Love and obey Him.

If you Taste the New wine but men come along and tell you you have to drink the Old wine to be saved then you would fall from grace and be yoked and in bondage to the Old Covenant if you believe them... but those who Love and Obey the Messiah Keep His Testament and are under Grace being Faithful in their liberty.

The Everlasting Gospel is sweet tasting my dear but one is to keep drinking it until they put on the immortal.. let us keep hearing His voice and water the incorruptible seed given by Grace through Faith.

Consistency

If you believe a believer is just an honest inconsistent individual who is not predictable
and will be as flaky as any sinner, then not being consistent is being honest they would
say.

But Jesus says this about bonds and agreements.

Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother or sister has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to them; then come and offer your gift.
Matt 5:23

All you need to say is simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything beyond this comes from the evil one.
Matt 5:37

Make sure your words are consistent that you follow up what you have agreed to.
There are not levels of commitment, just consistency. Changing things is fine, if you
agree and communicate it.

In relation to Abraham what did James conclude?

the same thing Paul concluded

abraham did not have a claimed faith, he had a real faith. Proven by the fact he was a doer of the word, not just a hearer. As we're the people james we're calling out wh had a claimed faith only.

was Abraham saved by works? God said no in gen 15, Paul said no in rom 4.

So so as someone said, your argument is with Paul, and I will add, with God.

Argue with Paul? Why.. I believe Paul I just don't believe you understand the Scriptures and error. I don't know who taught you the things you share but they don't Align with Scripture.

a verse misunderstood is not the True Gospel to proclaim stubbornly.

We are saved by Grace through Faith unto good works..

We are to be righteous and perfect... an instruction from the Lord.. I believe Him.
the same can be said of you,

and DC teaches that the saved work, again, so not only do you not understand the word, you d not understand what D.C. Believes.

2 Timothy 4

For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. 7I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: 8Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

We are to fight the good, we are to finish the race we keep the Faith and the righteous judge will give us our crown. Does this not remind you of what the Lord states in Revelation 2 and 3?

There you you go again talking about Christian growth, again, WRONG THREAD!

I am consistent, I have just tried not to call you out on ever post, but since you demand, I will now call out ever sanctification post you make which belongs in a Christian growth thread, and not a how on gets saved bread.

Fallen from grace does not mean "living in sin" as we have been religiously taught or that we hear from the world's media. So and so was caught stealing $100,000,000 from his hedge fund - "he has fallen from grace".

To fall from grace as Paul used the term is to rely on our own works for righteousness - such as "doing good works to remain saved".

The Judaizers in Paul's day came to the Galatians and said "You must be circumcised" once you are in Christ now. It is the "doing of the law in order to achieve and maintain righteousness."

This actually goes back before the Mosaic Covenant to Abraham as a "sign of you are in the covenant now" and God said if they weren't circumcised - they were not in the covenant - so you can understand how Christians could fall for this.

Galatians 5:3-4 (NASB)
[SUP]3 [/SUP] And I testify again to every man who receives circumcision, that he is under obligation to keep the whole Law.

(Justified by law means - you are justifying or making yourself righteous "by what you do or don't do". The whole law of Moses was based on this.)

[SUP]4 [/SUP] You have been severed from Christ, you who are seeking to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace.

The Greek word for "severed" means "to make idle" or "useless" "to nullify".

This is why those that say we need to do good works in order to stay saved are really nullifying or making useless or idle the grace of God from operating in our lives like it was meant to.

2643. καταργέω katargeō verb
Make idle or useless, waste, abolish, cease, do away with, destroy.

Katargeō means “to abolish” or “to nullify.” In classical Greek katargeō means “to render inactive, to put out of use, to cancel, bring to nothing” or “do away with.”

And Paul "did not say" that the Galatians were not saved or in Christ anymore - just that their own attempts to do works to create or maintain righteousness would "nullify or make useless" the grace of God that is in Christ and His finished work on the cross and resurrection from operating in their lives like it was meant to.

Paul was very militant at protecting the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ from the "doing of things in order to be righteous".

The grace of God in Christ will manifest itself in our lives in the doing of good works which He has prepared for us to walk in - as we live by relying on Him and what He has already done for us. Eph. 2:10

But we must have Christ Himself as central in all things. He is the Savior.

We must always have the horse before the cart.

The "horse" being the righteousness of God in Christ and that we are a new creation - created in righteousness and holiness
. This righteousness comes as a "gift" - not of any good works to create it or maintain it.

No amount of Old Testament Sabbath keeping or living by the law of Moses in any way achieves the righteousness of God which is in Christ.

Amen! The present tense of the word "justified" implies that these Galatians were contemplating justification by the law. *They were getting side tracked by legalistic teachers. "You who are trying to be justified by the law have fallen away from grace," but had they fully come to that place yet?

In Galatians 3:3, we read - Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh? The middle voice implies "making yourselves perfect" by means of self effort. The present tense indicates that the action is in progress and that there is still time to correct the error.

If these Galatians had lost their salvation and it was a done deal, then Paul would have simply said - you "lost your salvation" and I'm done with you, but instead, in verse 10, he said - I have confidence in you, in the Lord, that you will have no other mind; but he who troubles you shall bear his judgment, whoever he is. Paul would not have confidence in these Galatians if they lost their salvation and it was a done deal for them.

In verse 12, Paul uses hyperbole, As for those agitators, I wish they would go the whole way and emasculate themselves!

I'm sure dc will appreciate your efforts.
So you have no desire to try to figure out what D.C. Actually believes, but instead, try to convince someone you are right based on a false idea of what he thinks,

thats not to smart now is it

The thing that is most sinister in the false gospel of the judaizers and the neo-judaizers of today is not that these seek justification by the law, it is that they teach, believe in and add this to the finished work of Christ and make ongoing effort a part of their gospel. We see this on here from several in this thread who are doing exactly that, using deceptive arguments and contorted scriptures to distort the Gospel of Christ.

Their focus is always on man, not on Christ. A token may be given Christ here and there, but the main issue is them and what they've added to the Gospel, making it false.

That is the issue. That is what is so deceptive in their false gospel.

Good intentins? Trying to convince people who believe that people who are saved are doing the works of a god, are not couch potatoes. Who are doers of the word not just hearers, who obey Gods commands, are wrong?

again, not to smart is it?

What your doing is confusing he thread, in a salvation thread when you post works, peoplare going to assume you are trying g to work to earn salvation, because your talking about after we are saved events, not before we are saved, or you are talking about working to earn,

which is It?

Not what I said at all..

You and dc obviously share certain beliefs and support each other accordingly.

Im sure he commends your desire to help him.

I have no guile or malice but often have to tone my zealousness... I share my beliefs and converse if appropriate. It is difficult to reply to all and keep up.. but I do not attempt to be off topic whatsoever.

Discussions evolve and sometimes may not seem on topic but overall I think we are here contending for the Faith.

Sometimes you seem to be fanning flames.. but that is my opinion as others have formed opinions of me.

Let GOD be True and Heard always and forever.
