This thread isn't here to be ripped apart nor taken into a ditch...it's for sharing faith, inspiration, and hope. FAITH! I'm not asking IF you believe...I'm asking if you have experienced what you BELIEVE to be a miracle...please share.

It was 1995. My ex was on bivwac for two weeks. I was a first time mom with a newborn at home about 40 minutes from Colorado Springs and Ft Carson, Colorado. We lived high up in the mountains behind Pikes Peak. I was driving my sister's bf to work because they would carpool together up and down Ute Pass. Now, Ute Pass is carved through the mountains. A four lane very narrow divided highway, at a very steep what seems like a 90% grade. Falling boulders and rock avalanches are prevalent.(Reminds me of the straight and narrow path.) There is nowhere to turn around.
Now, I'm a first time mom to a newborn baby. I am breastfeeding. I never go anywhere with out Caity...but I'm picking Albert up this particular evening so I leave my daughter with my sister at my home. I'm in our Ford Ranger pick up. It's lightly snowing. The closer I get to downtown CS...the snow is getting heavier...the roads slick...by the time we are headed back up...we are in very bad weather before we start up the pass. Traffic is backed up. Cars pulling off the road...but I've got to get home, got to feed my baby. I'm trying to climb this grade up this pass in this truck with no weight in the back end. I'm trying to keep from sliding into the side of the mountain and weave my way through all these stranded cars. I have no blankets. I'm low on gas. I can't go any further. I look at Albert. I tell him there's no way. He says what do we do? I said, we pray. I did. God, no matter what, you know I need to get home to feed and take care of the baby. Lord, we cant stay here, we will freeze. Please help us get home. Amen. All of a sudden there's a great big four wheel drive Dooley truck that pulls right up next to me. Not someone else! ME! He knocks on my window and asks if he can help me...
Yes...I hope so. I can't go any further. I don't have any rope.
That's okay. I think I have something that will work. He pulls a tow strap out of his truck. He attaches it under the front of my truck...tells me to put my truck in neutral and just hold the wheel. I obeyed. He pulls me with ease out of the pass and off the highway o the top of a hill. He gets out and removes the strap and comes to my window.
Ok...now...put the truck in second gear...hold tight to the wheel...keep your foot on the gas. Don't slow down. You'll make it home to Woodland Park.
He began to leave I began down the hill back onto the highway and he was gone. No truck, no lights, and nowhere to turn around. I did exactly what he said up and down the road and made it home. Many times since the "man" appeared... Albert, a non believer at the time, his mouth had dropped open...but as I thanked God in the driveway, he couldn't shut his mouth! I looked at him and said that God had sent an angel...not fully believing it myself. Then for the first time I realized it really was an angel. I never told him I was going home...and I never told him that I lived in Woodland Park.
Out of all those people stranded...I prayed and he came to me.
Believe that God loves you. You. Out of all the people there are He will come to you if you just ask.
Thank you Jesus.

No seeable angels but a lot of dropped mouths. lol

No idea what else he said. I just remember the cardiologist's face (the "I'm deeply sorry for your loss" face) and these words. "Your husband is having a massive heart attack." Not "he was having." "Is." Considering I thought he had the heart attack four days earlier, I wasn't ready for that one. (Compared to those who are ready? Who is ever ready, right?)

Something-something else, lots of talking, and then he said hubby would be getting stents in another hospital ("right across the street," but since spouse couldn't go in ambulance with him, I know three blocks away and all up hill.) And I know I donated his body to that hospital in that talk, along with telling them to "do everything you would do if that was your love one on the gurney, but stop when you wouldn't do more."

Hubby heard someone when he was semi-conscious being rolled through a hallway. We'll never know if it was a doctor or an ambulance driver, but he heard, "This one isn't going to make it to surgery."

No one told me his chances that night. Good thing, because an Intensivist (the doctor in charge of the ICU) did tell me his chances two weeks later. "Your husband had a 10% chance of surviving that first night. I am in charge of a 35 bed Intensive Care Unit, and he is my sickest patient. He has a severe infection. He has a 50/50 chance of surviving tonight."

His kidneys shut down shortly after that, but they put him on a dialysis machine for three days. 31 days after that "massive heart attack" he was stable enough to have a new micro valve implanted. (31 days without a micro valve pumping blood into his heart, and he was too sick to even learn that for 4 weeks.) He atrophied so much in all the time he was unconscious that the only thing he was able to do was move his right arm up and down somewhat when he woke up.

Seven months two days before he came home.

So who drops their jaws when they see him? Every single doctor who reads his file. He's Dead Man Walking. The EMT saw him again three months later. He was still in ICU but only because he was being weaned from the vent. Every room in ICU is "right next to the nurse's station," but their is a glass wall separating them and a hall. We heard the one EMT in shock when he nudged his coworker. Probably one of them was the voice saying he wouldn't make it to the OR, but now they were shocked to see him alive. The cardiologist bracing me made a special trip to visit him. Lots of doctors and nurses did. Dead Man Walking.

Now he's behind me playing on his computer. No more wheelchair. We kept one of the walkers only because it has a seat on it, so easier to sit in it if chopping a lot of vegetables in the kitchen than letting our sciatica scream. The cane is around here somewhere. Forgot where. And I have to go beccause it's time for our walk. lol

Amen…Really good thread and post, sister.

God has brought me and my family from despair, danger, and even death so many times that it’s hard to even pick one out to talk about. All that I can really say is that I am so thankful for every time that he has heard my prayer, even when sometimes all I could get out was the smallest of whispers. I know I am unworthy of his love and mercy, but I truly thank him for being there for me.

Anyhow, awesome post and I enjoy hearing your's and everyone’s testimonies on this subject. :)

AMEN! Praise Jesus! Thanks for sharing sister Depleted. This is what a lesson in faith is when it comes from God!
