So, what is the cause of belief? Its not hearing, we agree.
Faith comes from hearing the Word, but that is the first stage ... there are two more stages to living as Christ lived we must go thru. Belief and Reception. Belief is where, in my heart I agree with God wholeheartedly as to who He says He is and to what He did for mankind and that He sits at the right hand of the Father interceding for us, this revelation would not be possible outside of hearing or reading the Word..hence, where faith comes from ... Yet, there is another stage, not of redemption, but of Salvation. And that is receiving Christ. This is where we are employed by God to act upon our own will in cooperation with His, as He empowers His will over our own, and we obey Him in what He makes clear for us to do spiritually.

The middle stage of life in Christ is belief, yet belief is the start and finishing point of redemption; the purification of Christ's application of sacrificial offerings on the Cross for our sake..Receiving Christ, is where I die to the right to myself, and therefore live my life fully dependent on God's redemptive facts thru Christ Jesus who becomes my Lord in a practical and real way thru the Holy Spirit's role of guidance and empowerment. Thus, we have the Bible say:

(John 1:12): ...New American Standard Bible (NASB)

12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name,

Belief therefore, starts in the heart, and leads to the mind and our soul which controls the outcome of our bodily actions; the part of us that makes up who we are agrees with God wholeheartedly.

Its a choice between two options.

Its not free in any philosophical meaning, because its dependent on your preferences, occasions, body needs, feelings you have no control over etc.

Its free only in a very small and specific meaning like "nobody forces you to choose this option".

Wich one is true, we choose Jesus or Jesus choose us?

The thief choose Jesus or Jesus choose the thief?
KJVJohn15;16 16. Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

That's right, hence why I stated in my post: "yet belief is the start and finishing point of redemption; the purification of Christ's application of sacrificial offerings on the Cross for our sake.." Are you saying you think God does not employ our will to be apart of His will - after His redemption for us?

Its their choice and they are not forced to be muslims.

But are they free not to be muslims? I do not think so. They need a new heart to accept Christ, not just hear about Him. Its like, in your example, to be birds when they are not.

BTW I am not familiar with the situation in Indonesia, is it safe for you to be here on Christian Chat?

No, I don't need any doctrinal dogma attached to my Bible, I only speak from the Word of God in relationship to my understanding of it by way of the Holy Spirit's guidance. This is what the Bible says, and this is what i believe is true due to the testimony of the Holy Spirit to my own spirit, and hence then my brain. It's not more complicated than that, it's just righteousness lived out is all. Smile. So, I hope we are on the same page?

Share your thoughts with me on "Receiving" Christ.

Red + blue = purple. I have no red shirts, nor blue shirts. All my shirts are purple
Are you free to want red? Or are you predestined to like purple and you cant go another way?

Only God has free will.

When we act based on our emotions, based on what Eve did, based on how the fruit looks like etc, we act based on an enslaved will and we are not free in our choosing.

No creation is, because all creation has some cause. Only God is without a cause and thats why all His decisions have the source in Him.
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
(Genesis 1:26-27)

If God has "free will" why don't we?
