Isaiah 56:1-7, “Thus said יהוה, “Guard right-ruling, and do righteousness, for near is My deliverance to come, and My righteousness to be revealed. Blessed is the man who does this, and the son of man who becomes strong in it, guarding the Sabbath lest he profane it, and guarding his hand from doing any evil. And let not the son of the gentile who has joined himself to יהוה speak, saying, ‘יהוה has certainly separated me from His people,’ nor let the eunuch say, ‘Look I am a dry tree.’ For thus said יהוה, “To the eunuchs who guard My Sabbaths, and have chosen what pleases Me, and are holding onto My covenant: to them I shall give in My house and within My walls a place and a name better than that of sons and daughters – I give them an everlasting name that is not cut off. Also the sons of the gentile who join themselves to יהוה, to serve Him, and to love the Name of יהוה, to be His servants, all who guard the Sabbath, and not profane it, and are holding onto My covenant, them I shall bring to My set-apart mountain, and let them rejoice in My house of prayer. Their ascending offerings and their sacrifices are accepted on My altar, for My house is called a house of prayer for all the peoples.”

[FONT=Times New Roman, serif]Isayah 58:11-14, "YHWH will guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in drought, and make fat; (strengthen), your bones. You will be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail. And those of you will rebuild the old waste places; you will raise up the foundations of many generations; and you will be called the Repairer of the Breach, the Restorer of Streets to Dwell In; If you turn away your foot from breaking the Sabbath: from doing your pleasure; your own business, your own pleasure, on My holy day, and call the Sabbath a delight; the holy day of YHWH honorable, and will honor Him by not doing your own ways, nor finding your own pleasure, nor engaging in idle conversation: Then you will find your joy in YHWH; and I will cause you to ride on the high places of the earth, and feed you with the heritage of Yaaqob your father, for the mouth of YHWH has spoken it."[/FONT]

The physical ways of the Old Testament represented the spiritual ways of the New Testament. The sabbath represented "the peace that surpasses understanding." We no longer physically rest on a physical day for religious purposes. It is not biblically wrong to worship and work on Sunday. But it would be wrong to forsake the assembly because of work. So there's nothing wrong with going to work after church lets out.

Christianity has nothing to do with days of work or days of not work.

Use your days in whatever way you want.

When you loot at your Bible, you will see that Deutoronomy is in a part called "The Old Testament".

Its called "The old one", because Jesus Christ based the New one.

maybe you could try convincing the Isralites a day does not matter to God.

or the nations[Egypt for one] being punished in the future mill. with no rainfall.

Funny the bible says in the future "all flesh" will observe the Sabbath day

The day(s) we shouldn't work for financial gain is/are the day(s) on which we aren't getting paid to work. In other words, it depends on your job. For those who put themselves under the Hebraic covenant, they should not work on the Sabbath. Christians aren't under the Hebraic covenant; our Sabbath is in Christ Himself.

for some, in their hearts, it is simply but lovingly, an act of obedience...

Israelites were not convinced even when their Christ was risen from the dead. So why should I try? The elect between them believes and the rest is hardened.

"What then? What the people of Israel sought so earnestly they did not obtain. The elect among them did, but the others were hardened."

If you are going to decide you have to follow one particular "Law", just make sure you follow all the rest of them also. What are there, 613 of them?

Jesus Christ is our Sabbath rest. There is no work you can do to gain the salvation offered through Him. By grace we are saved through faith, and this is a gift from God that none may boast. None are worthy; we do not merit it of our own accord, but what we do is repent and believe the gospel of Jesus Christ. The word "gospel" means "good news." The good news is that Jesus Christ paid the sin debt through the shedding of His righteous blood, due to His great and everlasting love for us, that we may have a life more abundant and attain to life ever after. He is the way, the Truth, and the life. Nobody comes to the Father but by Him. We are now set free from the law of sin and death, and are not to judge others, nor allow others to judge us, in what day we set aside to worship. See Colossians 2:16.

We must work the works of Him who sent me while it is day;
night is coming, when no one can work.

Perhaps someone needs to work seven days a week in order to best support their family. Would this be a sin? Heaven forbid! 1 Thessalonians 5:16 Rejoice always, 17 pray continually, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

So What does YHWH stand for or is it a name?

Exodus 20:9 [SUP]
[/SUP]Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
Exodus 20:9
But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:

But some of us have to work, but not for finance or reward.

I believe that the NT teaches that believers, especially non-Jewish believers, are not obliged to keep the Sabbath.

If by reason of conscience or a feeling of rightness you desire to keep the Sabbath (NOT UNDER COMPULSION OF LAW); the Sabbath is still Friday sunset to Saturday sunset.

People in the medical profession or those in public safety may not have an option in this and need not feel any guilt about it.

God's 7th Day Sabbath is for those that follow God's Word...

God's Sabbath is the 7th Day of the week that God commands his people to keep as a Holy day as a memorial of creation (Gene 2:1-3). The Sabbath was made for mankind and Jesus is the Lord of the Sabbath and commands us to obey it. (Ex 20:8-11; Mark 2:27-28) The 7th Day Sabbath is the 4th commandment and one of the 10. If we knowingly break any of God's 10 commandments we commit sin because sin is the transgression of God's Law (Romans 7:7; James 2:11; 1 John 3:4; Romans 3:20). If we break one of God's 10 commandments we are guilty of breaking all of them and are in danger of the judgement if we do not repent and seek God's forgiveness (James 2:8-12).

Sunday worship is a teaching and tradition of man over the Word if God and there is no command to keep it over God's Word that commands us to keep God's Sabbath as a Holy day.

Are we following God's Word if we are breaking God's commandments by following the traditions and teachings of man?

Matthew 15:3-9,

3, But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition? 4, For God commanded, saying, Honor thy father and mother: and, He that curses father or mother, let him die the death. 5, But ye say, Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift, by whatsoever thou might be profited by me; 6, And honor not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition. 7, Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying, 8, This people draws nigh unto me with their mouth, and honors me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. 9, But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

What did Jesus and the Apostles teach about the Sabbath in the New Testament?

1. It is lawful to do good on the Sabbath (Matt 12:1-8; 10-12; 24:20; Mark 3:1-5; Luke 6:1-10; 13:14-16; 14:1-5; John 7:22-23; 9:14; Mark 1:21; Mark 6:2; Luke 4:16; 31; Luke 14:1; 23:56)
2. Jesus made the Sabbath for all mankind (Mark 2:27)
3. Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath (Mark 2:28)
4. If you do not believe and follow God you cannot enter His Sabbath rest (Hebrews 4)
5. It is one of God’s 10 commandments we break it we are guilty or breaking all (James 2:8-12)
6. Breaking it is sin (1 John 3:4)
7. God’s true followers keep it Holy as God commanded (Rev 14:12; Rev 22:14; Eze 20:20)
8. Jesus is our example and kept the Sabbath (Matt 12:1-8; 10-12; 24:20; Mark 3:1-5; Luke 6:1-10; 13:14-16; 14:1-5; John 7:22-23; 9:14; Mark 1:21; Mark 6:2; Luke 4:16; 31; Luke 14:1; 23:56John 2:6; Matt 16:24; 1Cor 11:1; Eph 5:1-21; Pet 2:20-22)
9. The Apostle kept the Sabbath (Acts 13:14; 13:27; 13:44; 15:21; 16:13; 17:2; 18:4; Rev 1:10)

Who should we follow God or man?

As it is written let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou might be justified in thy sayings, and might overcome when thou art judged. In times of ignorance God winks at but now commands all men everywhere to repent. His Word is calling all that have ears to hear... to fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters. The 7th Day Sabbath is a memorial of creation, a holy day for the worship of the creator of Heaven and earth and a sign of those that follow him because they love him.

May God bless you as you seek him through his Word.
