In John 3:36, "He that BELIEVES on the Son has everlasting life". *Notice that this BELIEF is not in yourself or in works. Notice also that this BELIEF is not in Jesus Christ "plus something else," otherwise the BELIEF (trust, reliance) would not be "ON THE SON".

In regards to "does not obey the Son" in the New American Standard translation of the Bible, obey the Son here does not mean salvation by works, but obey by choosing to believe on the Son. If John wanted to make obedience the central theme in salvation here, he would have said: "He who believes and obeys the Son has eternal life," but that is not what John said. To obey the Son here is to believe on the Son. The King James Version renders this same verse as: He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that "believeth not the Son" shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. The NKJV says "does not believe the Son" and the NIV says "rejects the Son."

The Greek word translated as "believeth not" in that verse is apeitheo and it means: not believe, disobedient, obey not, unbelieving. Strong’s definition of apeitheo is "to disbelieve willfully and perversely." In John 3:36, to not obey the Son means to reject His message.

Descriptive of UNBELIEVERS.

Descriptive of BELIEVERS.

So who obeys Him? The saved or the lost? Only believers have obeyed Him by choosing to believe the gospel (Romans 1:16) in order to become saved, and only believers obey Him after they have been saved through faith by keeping His commands and practicing righteousness (1 John 2:3; 3:9,10). In either sense, only believers obey Him.

Unbelievers have not obeyed Him by refusing to believe the gospel (Romans 10:16) and without faith its impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6), so unbelievers do not obey Him no matter how much "so called" obedience that they attempt to conjure up through the flesh in a vain effort to receive salvation based on their works. So in either sense, unbelievers do not obey Him.
Amen brother......and I agree

I know, we already have the Wars and Rumors of War, the Earthquakes in diverse places, the Pestilances (Diseases the Kill), Ethnic Groups rising up against other Ethnic Groups, etc. Archeologists (including one Jewish Archeolgists) have found evidence that the original Temple location was about 900 meters to the South of the Dome of the Rock, on the original Mt. Zion in modern day City of DAVID. At the time of Christ that site was the Southeast Corner o Jerusalem. The Jews forgot that part of their History was that after the destruction of the Temple in 70 A.D. the Romans built a Temple to Jupiter on the site of Solomon's Temple. Thus when Simon the Prince of Judah and his forces overthrew the Romans in 132 A.D., Simon declared the original Temple Mount DEFILED, and turned the original Mt. Zion into a Rock Quarry, and lowered Mt. Zion to the height of the surrounding City of David, throwing the rock into the Valley to the South, creating a level road bed access from the South, to Jerusalem. Israel's Antiquities Authority is currently examing the archeological discoveries in the City of David to determine the validity of the Archeologists discoveries. When validated, that location has never been under the control of the Palestinians, and therefore the building of the Third Temple can begin immediately. {For more info see my thread}:

So the Rapture may happen long before I am 84, if not, males in my family usually die in their 60's or 70's of heart attacks.
It sure does seem that we are close for sure....many things happening and my view is that Israel gets the 70 years back that they spent in Babylonian Captivity which began in either 1947 or 48.......

Wrong again....Paul concluded a man was saved/justified by faith WITHOUT WORKS....the scriptures are clear to those who do not push a false works based salvation gospel...

Before God justified by faith without works <--Paul/Romans
Before men the above seen by our works <-James/James

There is no contradiction...your view contradicts the bible!

Both Paul and James describe the one faith of one Spirit as he works in the believer to both will and do His good pleasure as he did with Abraham and Rehab the two examples used in James 2.

Putting a wedge between the two (Paul and Jame as if they are not in agreement and apposed each other simply does not make any biblical sense.

The law of faith informs us the faith of Christ without the works of Christ is dead. God is not exempt from that law.

Paul concluded a man was saved/justified by faith WITH WORKS.... The faith is not of ourselves that we could offer towards God. therefore the work makes the faith (plan) complete. So we are saved by the work of Christ's faith it simply in not of our own selves.(the imagination of our own heart. ) New spirit new heart.

Heb 6:1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,

It the way the scripture uses the word faith and work they are never separate. He simply says to the unconverted "no faith" meaning no work.

The above could be paraphrased as I have below .

Not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead “works of faith” toward God, ( the word and removed, its all one)

It is the kind of sense that makes the best sense. Separate the work from the faith Christ needs to do the work of His faith ...crucify him over and over, over and over. One work of one faith towards us.

A Prayer That a Synergist Won't Pray
(An Open Challenge to All Synergists)by John Hendryx

Here is a prayer that would be consistent with the synergist's theology if he really believed that faith is a product of our unregenerated human nature and not the result of grace alone:

"God, I give you glory for everything else, but not my faith ... This is the one thing that is my very own that I produced of my fallen natural capacities. For this little bit the glory is mine. So I thank you Lord that I am not like other men who do not have faith. When you extended your grace to all men some did not make use of it, BUT I DID. While You deserve glory for all I have Lord, my faith was the one part that I contributed to the price of my redemption, apart from and independent of the effectual work of Your Holy Spirit."

He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace.
2 Tim 1:9

For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life.
1 Thess 4:7

And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, 10 so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, 11 filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God.
Phil 1:9-11

What is amazing is believers who claim we cannot be holy,
we do not have the fruit of righteousness.

Rather, he must be hospitable, one who loves what is good, who is self-controlled, upright, holy and disciplined.
Titus 1:8

Now an elder is meant to be upright, HOLY. Now why would Paul write this
if it was impossible.

What is impossible is for those who live in unbelief to actually read the bible
and hear its words.

Now if these people will not listen to God ofcourse they will not listen to me
and then turn into attacking aggressive individuals who cannot focus on the
truth and love but continually want condemnation.

I now have zero expectation of them listening because they shut out the words
that do not fit with their theology. It is sad, but I cannot resolve their issues, but
just stand as a witness to the blind, deaf and dumb.

Decon and the many folk's on this thread maintain that a Christian is saved and kept saved by the power of God and made holy, (our sanctification), for the service and the work of the ministry of the Church, The Body of Christ. Apart from any good works that we may do; faith is a gift of God, the ability to believe is a gift of God. Quote: Preacher4Truth, "any good that come's from the believer is a
work of God
." In addition there is no "Hyper Grace" being taught here, none.

The opposing arguments point of view say; not only that a born again Christian needs to keep producing works but that the believer also needs to keep believing, (which is something you do, not God) or else you can lose your eternal salvation if you do not continue to believe.

God bless

Only through baptism.
Matthew 3:11
I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:

Titus 3:5
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

(a) Correct Formula: GRACE THROUGH FAITH = SALVATION + WORKS
(b) Incorrect Formula: GRACE THROUGH FAITH + WORKS = SALVATION

Let’s go at this in a different way. You show in the Bible where anyone was ever baptized in the titles father, Son, and Holy Ghost the n I’ll go along with you.

In the book of Acts,Jews,Gentiles, and Samaritans, were all baptized in Jesus' name.

Luke said baptism is to be done in Jesus' name.

There is no other name whereby we are saved, but by the name of Jesus.

All we do in word and deed,do all in the name of Jesus.

In the Old Testament the Father said He will reveal a new name to the Jews, and speak to them.

Jesus said to Philip if you have seen Me you have seen the Father, and the words I speak are not My own,but the Father that dwells in Me,He does the works.

Jesus said He came in His Father's name.

The Father's name is Jesus.

The angel told Mary the child she shall bear shall be called Jesus.

The Son inherited the name from the Father.

The Son's name is Jesus.

The Holy Spirit comes in the name of Jesus.

It is amazing how there are people that set themselves as someone great in the Bible, and say they have a correct interpretation, and it that becomes popular, and it is not even the truth.

And I used to think how can anybody misinterpret the Bible when it is so plain in what it states, but apparently they can.

Someone claims to be a great theologian, reading the Bible for 30 years, and cannot see the truth.

Why all the fuss about baptism, it has the appearance you are just looking for excuses to not get baptized. If you were out in the desert with only drinking water to survive, confess Jesus as your savior and wait until you can find more water. The water doesn't save you God does. Being baptize is the way we show God that we love Him through our obedience.

The Great Commission

"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name ofthe "Father" and of the "Son" and of the "Holy Spirit" Matthew28:19
