We need an Apologetics forum on CC. Then, instead of banning nonbelievers like this guy, LINK, his thread could simply be moved to the Apologetics forum. That way, CC members who wanted to debate him could do so without polluting the Bible Discussion Forum (or other forums).

Perhaps nonbeliever posters—once they are identified—could be given a restricted status that only allowed them to post in the Apologetics forum. This would be better than banning them, wouldn't it?

I don't think the individual you linked to was sincerely interested in objective debate.

He just came here to angrily lash out at Christians.



I don't think we need a special forum just for angry people lashing out.

If people want to debate "politely", I believe they are perfectly welcome in the BDF.


One more thought: this isn't an apologetics website.
If we turned it into that, it would get continually hacked, and it would be filled to the brim with angry atheists day and night.
It would change the entire character of the site.

Just a thought.

It's not impossible but that is up to the one who made this site,I don't like seeing people being banned but there has to an order to this site otherwise people could run amuck,it's not just people who are non believers that get banned it is also people who are harassive or outright insulting and a few other stipulations,don't get too down about it we can still reach the lost here,it's not like they just go away,some simply go to a different site,every site is different.

I'm not opposed to politely or objectively having discussions with atheists.
The problem is, when they come to THIS site, they are generally not polite or objective.
They generally just come here to rant, and "put us in our place"... it's usually pretty vindictive.

Admittedly, I was a little hard on that last guy.
I probably should have said everything I did, but said it a bit more gently.
We can always try to do things better.

How about simply opening whatever posts you want to open, and not opening those you don't want to..... no matter what forum room they happen to be in? That's what I do anyway. I often have no idea WHAT forum room they are posted in.

there are, just look for them if you want me I type in Christian Chat Forums,and look from there,there are a fare few other Christian Chat sites,just not as active and less members,hope you'll spend time here too,I divide my time on 7 Christian Chat sites in all staying logged into each one all day including this one,mainly this one though and another slightly less active site,primarily.

I see that look in his eye, and I think,

Slightly? Except for CARM, most of them are dead, compared to C.C.

1. I would never have mentioned that particular pic if you hadn't brought it up first.

2. I'm really not up on which apologetics sites are currently active with live discussion... Willie may be completely right on this.
A. The sites that are not active will still have good info for study and research.
B. I think reasonablefaith.org has a forum that gets into classical apologetics.. but it might get a bit academic.

just checked that site out Willie and it doesn't look very active,it only has about 48 active members the one I was talking about,WCF,is way more active with about 210 active members.

Wow and I barely fine time to check this one out and go weeks without logging in...not sure how you do it.

I don't think segregating nonChristians is the answer.
1. Too much work on already overworked mods
2. We have some folks actually accept Jesus and it's amazing to watch their testimony of how they came here unsure and what God did in their life to bring them to His gospel truth.

Actually this is Not intended to be a 'debate' website. This is why no forum exists catering to it. It is a purposeful choice, by the site owner, so as to not encourage non-Christians to come here simply to debate. Of course non-Christians are welcome to come here and join in chats and get answers to questions, but not to debate. This is first and foremost a 'fellowship' site. It even says 'live international fellowship' at the top of each page.
Seemingly 95% of non-believers that come here do so to start trouble. Some hide it well in the beginning, but their true intentions do reveal themselves eventually. This is the reason for bannings, not genuine people with genuine questions.

I wish there was a forum for practising kindness and love toward each other, as in those are the rules of it. There is far too much debate or argument on this site. It is interesting that in the digital world, we appear so close, and yet most often so far away from each other, like we are all logging in from our own separate island. If we had come to meet in person, but then never saw each other, we would probably be much closer. There is no place online which defines these conditions. You are just free to be as superficial as you want to be. Text, compared to physical interaction and speech, is a very superficial language.
