The reason why its so hard for calvinists to believe that someone can obey in the bible is because they are into the augustinian teaching of no one is able to ever do anything. God has to do it for them.
Then the question remains why does God ask us to do things knowing we cant do em? Then gets angry at something He himself caused.
It’s not a matter of obeying the bible as if others do not obey it. It would be more of a biblical teaching rather than offering it to Augustinian or any man.
I would offer we should keep in mind whose work of faith as labor of love is the cause in respect to what it a effects, as a law of cause and effect.
He is the cause we are the effect. The I will , will I or I shall give us understanding as to what is a imputed an righteousness. Like that found in James 2 with Abraham and Rehab supported by the law found in Philippians 2. Again the law of cause and effect.
Phi 2:13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
I will offer a few found in Ezekiel to help emphasize the point
Ezekiel 36:27 And
I will put my spirit within you,
and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.
Ezekiel 36:33 Thus saith the Lord GOD; In the day that
I shall have cleansed you from all your
iniquities I will also
cause you to dwell in the cities, and the wastes shall be builded.
Ezekiel 37:5 Thus saith the Lord GOD unto these bones; Behold,
I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live:
Ezekiel 37:12 Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O my people
, I will open your graves, and
cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel.
Ezekiel 39:2 And
I will turn thee back, and leave but the sixth part of thee, and
will cause thee to come up from the north parts, and will bring thee upon the mountains of Israel:
Ezekiel 39:3 And
I will smite thy bow out of thy left hand, and
will cause thine arrows to fall out of thy right hand.
That system dont make much sense.
It makes sense according to the law of cause and effect.
So why did Jesus die? To obey for the people? Or: To save the people from their sins and remit their sins, purge their conscience so they could serve God with a clean and purified heart in faith working by love.
He obeyed the will of the father who poured the cup of wrath of our sin upon Him. Do you think it worked to please the father? Or is it a work that you do and the effect is to please the father.
Which master seeing no man can serve two? I would think if Christ does not do all the work then he does none.
