Yes, that is a good catch you are right 7seas. You and I for these short moments in time agree because he did say judgment begins in the house of the Lord. He is contradicting what he said and maybe we can help him know there is no judgment coming from God anymore. Sin has it's own consequence....death. God sent His Son and in Christ there is Life and that more abundant.
I believe based on the Scriptures just posted (and many others to be posted) that all our sin and God's judgment for sin has been paid in full by Jesus. That sin has no dominion over us because the believer is not UNDER LAW BUT UNDER GRACE. God no longer deals with us according to our sins.,,, but according to His Son and grace.
I agree with the bold type above. this, is the backbone of salvation and I guess that makes it a really good thing to agree on
this expression, not under law, has been used to the point, IMO, that it has become an expression rather than something we understand from scripture
we need to remember that salvation, including the OT (refer to Abraham PRIOR to Moses receiving any law) was ALWAYS by faith
no animal sacrifice EVER actually did away with sins. animals are not moral beings and therefore no more guilty of sin than a tree. it's important to understand this, because the way some people seem to post as though there are but 2 covenants, leads me to suspect they may believe the sacrifices
did do away with sin and/or there are but two covenants...the old and the new...when there are I believe it is 7 actually.
at the final judgement, EACH of us will be judged. so, it is incorrect to state no more judgement is coming...however, some will receive eternal life without rewards as their 'works' will not stand the test of fire and will be burned up
this is all in the Bible.
when we take a look at ourselves, we are, more or less, 'judging' ourselves. I understand from your posts that you want to keep a clean slate between you and God as do I and prob most people here who are sincere in their pursuit of living for Him
from that, we concur that we do not wish to continue in sin as no Christian should. I believe most certainly, that we do agree on that; demonstrating a true and saving faith, and not just lip service
