There's been a number of Seventh Day Adventist Apologists on lately. So be sure to start reading and understanding the many great Bible studies at Ex-Adventist Outreach which is the leading Christian site to those trapped in the bondage of Seventh Day Adventist theology.

Specifically regarding this discussion of Old Testament law and does it apply to Christians today and if so how listen to The Gospel and the Covenants (2nd from the top).

The Gospel and the Covenants is an excellent Bible Study from Pastor Mark of the Calvary Chapel in Phoenix AZ on this topic. Enjoy :).

I believe that it is not in concentrating on any law itself, including the Ten Commandments/moral law that enables us to live more as God would have us live, and according to Christ's own teachings. I believe we are to look to Christ and trust in him and rely on and follow after the Holy Spirit.

For the fruits of the Spirit are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law Gal5:22

And if we set our eyes on Christ and trust in him

Do we then nullify the law by this faith? Not at all! Rather we uphold the law. Rom3:31

That in a nutshell is Paul's message of grace.

When you people speak of the law, do you realize it is over 700 rules such as "do not eat a calf in it's mother's milk" "do no work on the Sabbath day" "make sin offerings at the alter" "wear no clothes made of 2 different materials" etc etc etc.

We do no have to follow that law anymore. As free men (and women), we follow guidelines that direct our behavior, not rules that dictate our every decision.

How wonderful it is to be free!

Most christian don't understand like u do. if the teaching of Jesus is Followed then the 700 rules must be followed, if if the teaching of Jesus is not Followed then u are following Paul that is rely different from Jesus teachings.

What the use of all prophet coming all this time teaching on the law. then Paul came saying don't have to follow the Law.

I am not a Christian, but I understand where Paul is coming from. A few questions for you.
What is sin defined in the Bible?
Do you know what God's law actually is?
If so, then what is His law?

Paul can say anything on the Law.
but
I know what Jesus said on the Law.

Matthew 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. 18For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. 19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven : but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Luke 16: 17 And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail.

John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.

1John 3:22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.

Luke 16: 17And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail.

John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.

1John 3:22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.

What is sin? the transgression of the law.

1 John 3:4

Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

Galatians 3:18-19

For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise.
19Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.

Now be honest with yourself. If sin is defined in the Bible as the trangression of the law, and then the Bible says that the law was ADDED because of transgression, either there is a contradiction or this is speaking of two laws. The key to understanding this is that it says that this law was ordained by angels IN THE HAND OF A MEDIATOR.

God is a Spirit and His law is also spiritual... The ten commandments.

Exodus 31:18

And he gave unto Moses, when he had made an end of communing with him upon mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God.

The law of God had NO MEDIATOR as God gave it to Israel Himself.

Deuteronomy 5:22

These words the LORD spake unto all your assembly in the mount out of the midst of the fire, of the cloud, and of the thick darkness, with a great voice: and he added no more. And he wrote them in two tables of stone, and delivered them unto me.

This is God's law! a spiritual law that He wrote down TWICE with His own finger! We also see that of His spiritual law HE ADDED NO MORE! Moses was not the mediator of the ten commandments. He was the mediator of the temporary laws or sacrificial laws.

Deuteronomy 31:7-9

And Moses called unto Joshua, and said unto him in the sight of all Israel, Be strong and of a good courage: for thou must go with this people unto the land which the LORD hath sworn unto their fathers to give them; and thou shalt cause them to inherit it.

8And the LORD, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed. 9And Moses wrote this law, and delivered it unto the priests the sons of Levi, which bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and unto all the elders of Israel.

Deuteronomy 4:12-14

And the LORD spake unto you out of the midst of the fire: ye heard the voice of the words, but saw no similitude; only ye heard a voice.

13And he declared unto you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, even ten commandments; and he wrote them upon two tables of stone. 14And the LORD commanded me at that time to teach you statutes and judgments, that ye might do them in the land whither ye go over to possess it.

The laws that Moses wrote and was commanded to teach were of the law that stood as a witness against us. And this was done away with in Jesus Christ. The ten commandments are spiritual laws and it is these that we must understand and obey in faith. The law Moses wrote is the one added because of the transgression of His spiritual law. God knew that Israel would rebel and harden their hearts toward the voice of God and His spiritual laws. Another point to make about the law is that the ten commandments were placed INSIDE the ark, while the law Moses was commanded to teach WAS PLACE ON THE SIDE OF THE ARK FOR A WITNESS. This was a symbol of the ten commandments being spiritual and the ordinances of Moses being temporary. But God does not change so as it was then, it is now. When we break the laws of the ten commandments, we are made subject to curse of the law that was added.

Romans 14:19-23

Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.

20For meat destroy not the work of God. All things indeed are pure; but it is evil for that man who eateth with offence.
21It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor any thing whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak.
22Hast thou faith? have it to thyself before God. Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth. 23And he that doubteth is ****ed if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.

You quote John, but ignore what he had to say about Jesus' commandments.

Ok, lets not ignore them.

1 John 3

John 3

1Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
2Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
3And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.
4Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
5And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.
6Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.
7Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
8He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
9Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
10In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.
11For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.
12Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous.
13Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you.
14We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.
15Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.
16Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
17But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?
18My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.
19And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him.
20For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.
21Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God.
22And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.
23And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment. 24And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.

So how do we believe? How do we accept Jesus? Is it enough to simply say it as most do in paying fine lip service to Him?

Matthew 25:31-46

31When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:

32And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:
33And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.
34Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
35For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
36Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
37Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?
38When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?
39Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?
40And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
41Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
42For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:
43I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.
44Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?
45Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. 46And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

This is how one shows his acceptance or denial of Jesus. Again, another example:

John 15:7-10

If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

8Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.
9As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. 10If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

11These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.
12This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. 13Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

Jesus showed us how to keep the law of God... the ten commandments.

And you misread His discourse in John chapter 14 - chapter 17. 3 times He gives His NEW COMMANDMENT. And what is it? That we love one another even as He has loved us. Much higher than any commandments ever given, even impossible to keep, without the Spirit giving us God's love.

Actually, that is not what Jesus showed us.

And John in his letter laid out for us the commandments of Jesus. I will give you a hint, they are in 1st John 3:23.
And you misread His discourse in John chapter 14 - chapter 17. 3 times He gives His NEW COMMANDMENT. And what is it? That we love one another even as He has loved us. Much higher than any commandments ever given, even impossible to keep, without the Spirit giving us God's love.

The commandment to love one another is not new. To love as He has loved us is the addition to it. Or better yet, the example to follow. The same ten commandments if we would but allow that Spirit to teach and not harden our hearts.

Exodus 20:1-19

And God spake all these words, saying,

2I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
3Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
4Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.
5Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
6And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

The love of God is demonstrated in obeying these commandments as God is a Spirit. We are told not to make ANY similutude of Him. The trinity breaks this commandment.
7Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
8Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
9Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
10But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
11For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

God said that the Sabbath is a sign to know that it is Him that sanctifies us. This is the stumbling block of the ten as anything outside of this is taking His name in vain. We must learn how to obey the true spiritual Sabbath of God.

12Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
13Thou shalt not kill.
14Thou shalt not commit adultery.
15Thou shalt not steal.
16Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour. 17Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.

These are about loving our neighbor.

Jesus said to love the Lord God with all that you are and to love your neighbor as yourself - this sums up the law and the prophets.

We aren't BOUND by the law. We're FREE to love God and others with the unmerited grace we've been given through the fulfillment of the law by our precious Christ.

No answer, It says what it says, but were not to follow silly rules and regulations of men though, like the pharisees did to get around the law.

Our pastor said something about something Muslims do, If they go on a long trip without there wives, they can get a temporary marriage licence and marry a woman and then have sex with her and then when he's done with her he can easily dump her and thus not commit adultery.

Rom3:31 is the answer
that is said by Paul, can u give me the one that is said by Jeusus

This is the one that Jesus Said

Matthew 5:17Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. 18For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. 19Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
1John 3:22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.

This is what PAUL Said

Roman 7: 4 Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God
Galatians 3:13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree
Romans 7:6 But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.
Romans 6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

This one isn't quoting Jesus, but i'm certain Jesus agrees with it.

I don't think you have an understanding what grace is. God's Riches At Christ's Expence

Here is some differences between Law and Grace:

Law is God prohibiting and requiring; grace is God beseeching and bestowing. Law is a ministry of condemnation; grace, of forgiveness. Law curses; grace redeems from that curse. Law kills; grace makes alive. Law shuts every mouth before God; grace opens every mouth to praise Him. Law puts a great and guilty distance between man and God; grace makes guilty man nigh to God. Law says, "An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth"; grace says, "Resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also." Law says, "Hate thine enemy"; grace says, "Love your enemies, bless them that despitefully use you." Law says, do and live; grace says, believe and live. Law never had a missionary; grace is to be preached to every creature. Law utterly condemns the best man; grace freely justifies the worst (Luke 23:43; Rom. 5:8; ! Tim 1:15; 1 Cor. 6:9-11). Law is a system of probation; grace, of favor. Law stones an adulteress; grace says, "Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more." Under law the sheep dies for the shepherd: under grace the Shepherd dies for the sheep.

God changes the Christian from the inside out , not the other way around. My justification comes from Jesus not my good works. And what laws are we not following?
