If we can't love our sisters and brothers in Christ, how can we love Christ?

And we should care and love our neighbours, too. That is our command to do so, albeit it is difficult.

It is actually much easier loving others than my self.

This thread reminds me of Mr. Rogers.

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood. A beautiful day in the neighborhood. Won't you be.......my neighbor?

We love Him because He first loved us.

1 John 4:[SUP]18 [/SUP]There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.[SUP] 19 [/SUP]We love him, because he first loved us.[SUP] 20 [/SUP]If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?

It is actually much easier loving others than my self.
Hating myself because of my ever present and yet not domineering sinful nature and what I have done in sin is why it is easier in one sense to love others than self.

Since love is one of the fruits of the Spirit, and that comes by Jesus Christ, I look to Him for help to love others, especially my enemies.

Philippians 1:[SUP]6 [/SUP]Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:....[SUP]11 [/SUP]Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.

Let's make a distinction before we move on:
loving our neighbors doesn't mean we're obligated to AGREE with them.
: )

It means we are to truly, deeply, desire what is best for them.
It also means we should have some genuine compassion, and some kindness toward them.

Every day I pray for God to make me more loving.

And this is for the same reason I read my Bible... because I simply NEED it.

Yes you are correct we are to love them and that doesn't mean we agree with a person's ideals it means we have their best interests at heart.
