Ephesians 4:22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;

Colossians 3:8 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.

Colossians 3:9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;

These were saved believers in Ephesus and in Colosse yet they were admonished to put off the old man, implying their peccable estate.

To defend sin is to commit sin.

We all have a conscience. It is pricked when we fall short.
Just not pricked enough to avoid the temptation?
It is written..."Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." (James 4:7)

None who belong to the Lord has a desire to sin.
I agree completely.
Their flesh has been "crucified with the affections and lusts". (Gal 5:24)

I think Satan sets traps. Watches for weak points, and strikes.
The devil doesn't strike, he lets us do the dirty work.
Thanks be to God though, for allowing us to kill the old man and be reborn of seed that cannot bring forth evil fruit.

1 Corinthians 3:1 And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.
3:2 I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.
3:3 For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?
3:4 For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal?

The Corinth Believers were called saints, saved yet some of them were still carnal, walking as men. The carnality includes envy, strife and division, they still sin yet saved by the grace of God. They weren't sinless perfect.
The church members are addressed as saints, but the hangers-on were yet carnal.

1 John 5:16 If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.
Yet there is a sin not unto death...

Wait a minute...PJW

You think Jesus overcame His flesh? Did Jesus have the flesh? Flesh-the human nature with its frailties both physical and moral and it's passions?

I think not.
Please describe a "moral frailty".

If He didn't, He was a poor example for us to follow.
"Jesus wept."
Sounds pretty human to me.
He hungered, He bled, He loved, He tired, He thirsted, He forgave, He suffered, He lamented.
Characteristics of something besides human?

PJW,

James 4:17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

Proper interpretation/explanation is doing good yet I fail to see of your many posts, so what is that according to the scripture?

It is a sin...

If all men sin, then so did Jesus.
That is what you are standing behind.

This verse was true, until Jesus came and conquered sin.
Not all are sinners anymore.
We have been freed from sin.
Thanks be to the Lord Jesus.
Oh this is truly pathetic Sir because you do not have the intestinal fortitude to man up and admit you have wrongly accused someone of somthing they did not do . You wanting to sidestep the issue of your wrongdoing so you twist things around trying to say that I am pushing a agenda that Jesus must have sinned too . No I did not ! Your agiain are bearing false witness.

You mean body don't you? Only the body is mortal? Am not entirely positive that is so though. The Spirit will return to Father, but the soul? Needs saved. So would not the soul be mortal too?
Our soul is that which will suffer if not redeemed.
Don't confuse "life" with "skin".
The body/skin is just a vessel.
Your description sounds like the soul is immortal, even without rebirth.
Either redeemed of suffering, it will go on.

Now even though this is to Dcon, and am sure he will have a great answer, I have one too. If all your sins are washed away, and you no longer need washing, why does the scripture say we are washed by the water of the Word?
That washing is done at the start of our walk in the light.
Jesus is the Word made flesh, and it is His blood that cleanses us of our past sins...at water baptism.

I left, but my banning was no longer allowed to return.

Am pretty sure I have been followed in other forums by a person who still has a gripe against me. Even here recently.

That forum wasnt a christian forum. Just one created for arguments.
Perhaps next time you join a site you won't use the name "stone"?
How could you get kicked out of a place meant for arguments?
Were you too agreeable?
LOL

Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
All have sinned the Bible says except Christ because.

That verse doesn't say that though.
It was written before Jesus' time, so has only a narrow application in today's church.
It certainly can't be used to allow ongoing sin, nor to i,peach efforts to cease from sin.

Christ Knew No Sin and did No Sin.
2 Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
1 Peter 2:22 Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:
Tell it to the folks who use it to castigate the message of power over sin, brought by Christ Jesus.

All exhortations not to be ignored.
Paul wasn't writing to just the faithful, but to everybody within hearing range.
If I tell brothers in a far away city not to speed in school zones, does that mean they are presently speeding in school zones?
Not at all.
These believers didn't have bibles to give them guidance, so oral admonitions were invaluable.
Some among them were newer than others too, so even the most elementary guidance was worthy of writing.

Yet there is a sin not unto death...
Any sin you confess and repent of is not unto death
If you do it again, your repentance was false.
There is no sin in Christ, so if men say they are in God's church, they must be free of sin.

Please tell me you are not still content in sin.
Would I be doing better if I left the disobedience to the day of judgement without the warnings?

Would it be more loving to NOT tell the kids to quit running by the swimming pool?
Would I be more loving to fail to warn my kids about the dangers of tobacco smoking/dipping?
If you love someone you warn them.

Did all men sin?
No.
The verse can't be used to repudiate a message of obedience.

So a catholic doctrine makes it impossible to love God above all else?
Not buying it for a minute.
Do you reject 'original sin' too? I guess like Biig said, you have to. But read Genesis 3, and if that's not clear enough, read Romans 5 & 1 Corinthians 15.

All exhortations not to be ignored.
Paul wasn't writing to just the faithful, but to everybody within hearing range.
The epistles fred quoted were specifically written to saved, elect, baptized believers in Christ. The most cursory reading of them makes this plain.
Scripture may offend a person, but that doesn't give them latitude to change it in order to better fit their presumptions.

It’s not about the verse sir it’s about you . You are the one that has spoken falsely.
Focus like a laser beam. You assumed I meant something that I did not say or imply.
Under that false assumption you accused me of doing something I did not do end of story.
