Galatians 2:20-21 King James Version (KJV)A double minded man is unstable in all his ways (James 1:8). The biblical definition for schizophrenia is double-mindedness. The Apostle James is speaking about the Saints. Jesus said that He would spit out a lukewarm Believer. In other words they use to be in Him. Any Believer whose faith is not placed and maintained exclusively in Christ and His Finished Work defiles the Temple of God with idols. This is Satan master plan to have a born again Believer not to enter into sanctification (Galatians 5).
[SUP]20 [/SUP]I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me (Supernatural Power): and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God (to release this Supernatural Power, our Faith must be placed and maintained exclusively in Christ and the Cross, i.e., The Finished Work of Christ, i.e., The Blood of Jesus), who loved me, and gave himself for me. (This done by just BELIEVING only!)
[SUP]21[/SUP]I do not frustrate the grace of God (I do not hinder the flow of the Holy Spirit): for if righteousness come by the law (the flesh), then Christ is dead in vain.
Romans 12:1-2 King James Version (KJV)
12 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
[SUP]2 [/SUP]And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. (We can't sanctify ourselves. This work of God that is demanded in verses 1 and 2 can only be done when the Believers Faith is placed and maintained exclusively (daily) in Christ and the Finished Work, i.e., The Cross, i.e., The Blood of Jesus. When the Holy Spirit sees that the Believers heart is exhibiting Faith in Christ and the Finished Work, He begins to do the work in us (because we are glorifying Christ) that is impossible for us to do. The Holy Spirit only works between the perimeters of Jesus Christ and the Finished Work.
What is the difference in the "Flesh" and the "Law?"
The law is either the Law of Moses, or else, it's the laws we devise ourselves, or someone else devises, which make us believe that keeping these laws, or trying to do so, will give us victory. It won't!
The "flesh" is the effort and ability of the individual, and I speak of education, motivation, intellect, talent, ability, etc. The idea is, when one resorts to law, he has nothing but the flesh to help him because the Holy Spirit will not get involved in such an effort. This leaves the person guaranteed of defeat.
Why is the "Flesh" incapable?
It is incapable because of the Fall that made it ineffective. Paul said, "And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness (Romans 8:10)."
Despite this, we Believers keep trying to do that which cannot be done and which was never meant to be done by us. God has a Way, and we must function in that Way, which will guarantee victory.
For the Believer to receive everything for which Christ died, which is Salvation for the soul and Sanctification for the Saint, all the Believer has to do is place his Faith entirely and totally in Christ and what Christ did for us at the Cross (Rom. 6:1-14; 1 Cor. 1:17-18, 23; 2:2; Gal. 6:14). When this is done, our Faith placed totally and completely in Christ and the Cross, then the Holy Spirit, Who is God, begins to do for us what we cannot do for ourselves. Paul said, "But if the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, He that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by His Spirit that dwelleth in you.
This is "a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God!"
