What is the difference in the "Flesh" and the "Law?"

The law is either the Law of Moses, or else, it's the laws we devise ourselves, or someone else devises, which make us believe that keeping these laws, or trying to do so, will give us victory. It won't!

The "flesh" is the effort and ability of the individual, and I speak of education, motivation, intellect, talent, ability, etc. The idea is, when one resorts to law, he has nothing but the flesh to help him because the Holy Spirit will not get involved in such an effort. This leaves the person guaranteed of defeat.

Why is the "Flesh" incapable?

It is incapable because of the Fall that made it ineffective. Paul said, "And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness (Romans 8:10)."

Despite this, we Believers keep trying to do that which cannot be done and which was never meant to be done by us. God has a Way, and we must function in that Way, which will guarantee victory.

For the Believer to receive everything for which Christ died, which is Salvation for the soul and Sanctification for the Saint, all the Believer has to do is place his Faith entirely and totally in Christ and what Christ did for us at the Cross (Rom. 6:1-14; 1 Cor. 1:17-18, 23; 2:2; Gal. 6:14). When this is done, our Faith placed totally and completely in Christ and the Cross, then the Holy Spirit, Who is God, begins to do for us what we cannot do for ourselves. Paul said, "But if the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, He that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by His Spirit that dwelleth in you.

This is "a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God!"

I have a late brother who was schizophrenic. He wasn't demon possessed, he believed himself to be converted yet struggled with the disease, but meds lined him out.

The level of ignorance in this thread, and the attacks on others is remarkable. I can, however, understand that one who is Arian and naturally denies the Deity of Christ would believe the pineal gland third eye bovine scat theory. Why the denial of Deity is allowed on here is unreal.

I agree with what you have stated. Some Schizophrenics are that way because they have endured severe physical and emotional trauma. The mind will fragment and find safety in those fragmented places/identities/alter states. This is seen with women and men that are sex trafficked and were abused as children. It is also common among people in very abusive relationships, especially children. The mind has to make sense of something it is not able to process or handle.

for example, A child being physically, emotionally and sexually abused at the age of 8. Their mind cannot handle what is happening or process it, so the mind fragments and retreats to places/identities/alter states.

It is exactly the opposite of what self made deliverance ministers state it is. In most cases it is a protection state the mind is using to cope with such trauma else the person would die.

Wrong, This passage in James 1 refers to someone who is keeping one foot in the world and one foot in the kingdom and cannot decide which master to serve.

Since Bentz has already ordered a KJB, your "No" is worthless. Furthermore, it is worthless on other grounds also (which will derail this thread). Bentz, good for you. I believe the Lord directed you to the KJB, so stick with it, and don't let others fool you into thinking that it has no merit. It has stood the test of time, unlike modern perversions.

As to people's opinions on this matter, there are NO EXPERTS when it comes to recognizing the difference between demon possession and mental illness. Why? Because the so-called experts ignore the existence of evil spirits and demons, and most of them are not even saved. Medications do not address the real issues, and give a false assurance to those who desperately need spiritual help.

What we do know from Scripture is that the man who was possessed by a legion of demons was delivered by the Lord, and the end result was that he was "CLOTHED AND IN HIS RIGHT MIND". So there is no need for Christians to be arguing amongst each other about the matter, since nobody knows the spiritual condition of this young lady, who should see a godly and discerning pastor.

This is correct. A demon can never enter the spirit-man...it is sealed. However, he will enter the inner-man (soul) and the flesh (mind) of a Believer from a wounded soul and trauma. Sin gives access to the demonic. These are called strongholds, bondage, and yokes.

Jesus said this woman was a daughter of Abraham, which means she was saved. If you look up the word infirmity in the Strong's, it means soul. This woman soul was wounded from sin. A Believer must confess and repent of their sins so you have nothing in common with Satan.

i believe Schizophrenia and demon possession are connected. i have read many Schizophrenics have damaged pineal glands and many believe the pineal gland is the point of ones body where the physical connects to the spiritual, if damaged one could easily be overcome by darkness.

You are confusing Dissociative Identity Disorder, (known formerly as Multiple Personality Disorder) with Schizophrenia. A schizophrenic is not a "split" personality, but rather prone to psychosis. Which is hearing voices, seeing things. The brain is wrongly interpreting things. Watch "A Beautiful Mind" to see a good portrayal of the disease, if not the man.

People with DID are the ones who are abused as children, and create other personalities to protect themselves. There is a lot of confusion surrounding this disorder, it has been portrayed in movies as radical differences in personality, when usually only the family is aware of the disease.

As for James 1:8, it has NOTHING to do with mental illness. Read it in context!

"If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. 6 But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. 7 That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. 8 Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do." Here, James instructs believers to ask God for wisdom, and believe and not doubt that he will give it. If he expects to receive wisdom, (or anything else!) he must be strong in his faith. If he wavers, believes God one minute, then not the second, he is double-minded and unstable.

So, it is part of a some teaching about prayer, and asking God for things! Nothing to do with Schizophrenia or mental illness at all.

ive listened to a bunch of Bro Anderson's preaching, only thing me and him disagree on is that im pre-trib rapture and he is mid-trib. in all other points i got no disagreement. he believes the bible i like that. he doesnt go to the greek to explain it away.
hes a solid preacher for sure. the thing i like about him the most is that he goes soul-winning a lot. alotta churches have completely stopped soul-winning and instead turn their churches to worldly circus' to attract more people.

I'm saddened that as a new Christian you've been hoodwinked by KJV only teachings and by cultic "pastor" Steven Anderson. Cultic teachers seek out those who have recently come to the faith to indoctrinate them with poisonous false teachings. YOu would have never arrived at any of these teachings by sticking to Scripture.

As a German, why would you follow a radical American pastor who loudly denies the Holocaust ever happened?

Stephen Anderson is considered by many to be a bit of a joke here in North America. He's a media hound, given to doing whatever will bring attention to himself and his views. He is certainly outspoken regarding the KJV, though those who study the issues deeply will disagree with him on key points. I would encourage you to consider the other side of the KJV-only debate. James White (Alpha and Omega Ministries; also on YouTube) has written a detailed book on the subject "The King James Only Controversy".

If you believe the Bible is true (I think you do, based on other posts you've made), why would you think that demons no longer operate as they did in biblical times? What Scripture points you to that conclusion?

There may be cases where disease is directly caused by demonic infestation, but if disease were simply demonic, medical treatment would have no effect. Diseases, as a whole, are a consequence of the Adamic rebellion ("the Fall"). God is in the business of redeeming broken humanity; punishment is deferred until the Judgment for those who reject Jesus.

There are some insightful lectures on disease and 'germs' from a Christian creationist perspective. I'd recommend the work of Dr. Georgia Purdom (among others) - available on YouTube.
