Hi all

I have just started reading the OT and finished Genesis today, but I am looking for a good preacher online I can watch who takes us through the books...

through the books?

you mean, you want to go
Through the Bible? :D

J. Vernon McGee did a 5-year long program called "
Through the Bible" i.e. 'The Bible Bus Radio Program' in ~ 30 min, weekly segments, verse by verse through the entire Bible.

hop on the bus!

http://www.ttb.org/programs/the-5-year-study

^ in that link are youtube videos, podcasts, downloadable mp3's, app links, etc. all different ways to listen to them. it's a very good place to start, and he sticks to the scripture. you'll love it, i promise.

The purest form of learning is through yourself, although it may not be the fastest, just the purest. Better for you to make up your own mind about something, than someone influencing how it is made up 'before' you have experienced it through yourself first. And then if there is anything you are stuck on, or want to understand better, then you can research it, get different points of view, to again make up your own mind.

One of my favourite parts of the Bible is this part, which talks about false teachers. And I believe they are just about everywhere. And they are all against 'the other' point of view. But it really is about love, if you cannot teach love over your intellectual righteousness, what's the point? I know you get my point, because you have a humble spirit.

If you are looking for good preachers, look for good hearted people, it is as simple as that.

Stay On In Ephesus To Turn Certain “Law-Teachers” From Worthless Talk To Love

[SUP]3 [/SUP]Just as I urged you to stay-on in Ephesus while I was proceeding to Macedonia, do so in order that you might command[SUP][a][/SUP] certain ones not to be teaching-different-doctrines, [SUP]4 [/SUP]nor paying-attention-to myths[SUP][b][/SUP] and endless genealogies, which cause speculations rather than a stewardship[SUP][c][/SUP] of [SUP][d][/SUP] God, which is by[SUP][e][/SUP] faith. [SUP]5 [/SUP]But the tachlis (purpose) of the gzeira [1:3] is ahavah (love) out of a lev tahor (pure heart) and a clear matzpun (conscience) and emunah (faith) without tzevi’ut (hypocrisy). [SUP]6 [/SUP]Some people [1:3] have missed the mark and deviated from these things to hevel (vanity), to divrei havohu (words of emptiness), [SUP]7 [/SUP]wanting to be Law-teachers, not understanding either the things which they are saying or about what things they are speaking-confidently.
Thank you mj007, I have bared this in mind...xox...

You can look up chronological reading plans on line. This for example.

https://www.biblestudytools.com/bible-reading-plan/chronological.html

Or you can buy bibles which are set out in chronological order instead of the
regular way like these but I’m sure there will also be regular book shops
too which sell them.

Morning miri...Thank you for the link, I will look shortly after my morning coffee, yes I am looking to buy, thank you once again...xox...

Hi all

I have just started reading the OT and finished Genesis today, but I am looking for a good preacher online I can watch who takes us through the books...I have seen a few but so many comments are made against them saying they are wolves etc, I just do not know who I can trust to help me in my study, so I was wondering if anyone could recommend to me someone who is trust worthy, I have been walking with our Lord for just over two years, so reading the OT is very new to me, and I do not want to fall into someone who preaches lies, I just want to take precaution, I hope someone can help me and thank you...:)...xox...
***Chuck Smith teaches through the whole Bible---I have listened to him for 40 years...

I'm more a reader than a listening. (Easier to go back and reread when I need to understand than to rewind.) So, going with esword too. But for listening about different books in the Bible, (not all of them, but a few of them), here's a link to old sermons. Just a heads up, since they are sermon series, you'll want to click on the book you'd like to study, and then scroll down the next page, since last-is-first.
Thank you Depleted, I have book marked this...xox...

All you need is a list on a piece of paper to go by, and it won't cost you a penny.

As for "REAL" reading, look into a version called "The FLAT Bible." I got it free, online.
Hi Willie-T...I looked up the flat bible and it brought up about the earth being flat ...xox...

Finding a preacher online or off is next to impossible. Usually they belong to a named denomination which means they have a doctrine that conflicst with most other denominations, otherwise there would be no differentiation

There is a manner of finding one though. If you feel the presence of God when hearing a person is sharing the Word, listen.
Now the Presence is not always presentwith any given person, so give individuals a change, and I pray you are taught of the Holy Spirit always. In Jesus Christ's blessed name, amen.

Gm rosemary. :)
God Himself will teach you. It may just seem boring but you have to read the verses in order for Him to recall them to your mind later to show you yourself and your own life and heart.

My advice, instead of looking for a man to explain it to you, is to ask God to teach you.

You are beginning exodus? In the desert, He tried over and over to get them to trust Him and they kept failing in it. Start there, with seeing how He provided and how they kept complaining and not trusting.

Try to see any similarities between them and you. Try to see where you might be the same as them or where you might struggle to not be like them in their complaining and mistrust.

Look at the story for where it might be relevant to you and your own circumstances.

Don't run off too quickly to listen to other men explaining it. Remember the verse you read in the NT - you have need of no other teacher. Just read and wait expectantly and calmly for Him to show you what He wants to.

Be patient and wait for Him while you read.:)

Wonderful advice and thank you Sbg...I think I maybe running before I am walking , wanting to learn so much yet not waiting upon the Lord to reveal things to me...Yesterday I felt anxious because I really do not know much about the OT, I feel like I am behind on so much if that makes sense , but I know that it is the Holy Spirit who will bring me to all truth, so I shall carry on reading, and on things that I feel stuck on, I know I can come in here for advice...Your post really hit home :)...xox...

Thank you Adstar and yes I agree...That`s the key right there , He will teach me the things I need to know :)...Yesterday I was reading trying to work things out in my own way , all that done was bring me to panic, although while reading about Joseph, I could see how much God`s love was poured on Him, I found it a beautiful story of God`s love...xox...
