Now I should believe your post as a mini-rewrite of genesis.

The first day..........there were no people........but your twist of things almost sounds believeable if it were not for the truth that the Father has not changed the order He created the earth, the sky, the animals and the fish.

Then He gae to us all the day He rested to be with Him each week, it is a marvelous gift, something I find myself preparing for the other six.

As for Sabbaths, other than the Sabbath of the Lord God, there are many sabbaths. Do not confuse the others with the Sabbath of the Lord. I see yo saw the posts on what Sabbath may translate as.

The first day of the week is when God said let there be light. As new creatures children of light .Now that the work was finished signaled by the renting of the veil the new eras of Sabbaths has entered in.

The word Sabbath means rest . It is not s subject to time. Today if we hear his voice and harden not our hearts we have enter his Sabbath rest.

Its first of new era of Sabbaths plural .Not the first day of the week a word not used in the new testament .

Why change it into a time sensitive word?

Matthew 28Young's Literal Translation (YLT)
28 And on the eve of the sabbaths, at the dawn, toward the first of the sabbaths, came Mary the Magdalene, and the other Mary, to see the sepulchre,

Which is more convincing, quoting the traditions made by mankind or quoting the Words of god?
And Moses summoned all Israel and said to them, “Hear, O Israel, the statutes and the rules that I speak in your hearing today, and you shall learn them and be careful to do them.2 The Lord our God made a covenant with us in Horeb.3 Not with our fathers did the Lord make this covenant, but with us, who are all of us here alive today.4 The Lord spoke with you face to face at the mountain, out of the midst of the fire,5 while I stood between the Lord and you at that time, to declare to you the word of the Lord. For you were afraid because of the fire, and you did not go up into the mountain.

“‘Observe the Sabbath day, to keep it holy, as the Lord your God commanded you. 13 For six days you shall labour and do all your work,14 but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, you or your son or your daughter or your male servant or your female servant, or your ox or your donkey or any of your livestock, or the sojourner who is within your gates, that your male servant and your female servant may rest as well as you. 15
You shall remember that you were a slave[c] in the land of Egypt, and the Lord your God brought you out from there with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm. Therefore the Lord your God commanded you to keep the Sabbath day

Why do legalists want to keep people under the Old covenant. As can be seen above the obligation of keeping Sabbath was to remember that you were a slave in Egypt and that the Lord brought the Israelites out of the the land of Egypt.

Now We have been redeemed from slavery from sin in the person and work of Christ, we remember this greater salvation on Sunday the day he arose, the day the first christians did. This is now also the day we look forward and anticipate our eternal rest in Christ.

The legalist has a problem with this, as they want to see where we are commanded to meet on Sunday. I hope you see the problem they have as it is a stumbling block to them... they need a command! they need to be working at salvation.

No one is commanded, to observe any day holier than any other in the new covenant. But we in accordance with creation rest take one day a week, to rest.. That for christians is usually Sunday. Although if you work on that day then its whatever day you are off.

I stopped at legalists.

Why do the grace-only, do-nothing people who say they believe Jesus Christ always think those who observe the Seventh Day as the day given as a gift by God to all mankind are under the law.

Gee, I had bacon theother day. Oh, I cleaned after my dog this morning. ohhh. As my Master teaches, the Sagbbath is made for man,. yES, i DO Spend the other six days worhipping God and looking agin to the Sabbath. Why, because I do not snub the nose at what God gave me.

You seem to be a lawyer, actually a prosecuting attorney, since you think you know the eharts, souls and minds of others, and this makes you a legalist of the mosst heinous kind for you have accused and judged others.

When Genesis is rewritten, give me a line, but in the meantime, allow me to enjoy living in the grace of God and hearig Him only, and not those who simply make it up as they go along.

Notice to all long posters...... agian I will say, reading wordy posts for me is like tasting a beverage, if it has a bitter taste then I discard what remains.

God's Word is all the Gospel, all, even if some legalists find where they think it is not.......He is first in directing us, and first to be obeyed, never the traditions and laws made up by flesh.......Jesus christ is returning soon, amen.

Show us the legalist trying to share the old wine?

But, if you think observing the 'Sabbath' as part of the gospel you are sadly mistaken my friend.

As the scriptures show the 4th commandment is for the Mosaic covenant. (scripture provide in post above). Not for those in the New.

You appear to yet have the law in stone, and not on your heart for this is all you can refer to. This is very sad. Have you not yet had the law inscribed on the fleshy tablets of your heart? Have you not learned from the Master by His teachingin the Gospel and His perfect Example just what the law is today, an how it is to be approached?

If you search the scrpture in the New Testament you will find the three most important poins of the law according to our Rabbi are faith, mercy and justice, whithout wihich you cannot possibly understand Him

Did you not realize just how many of the laws of Moses have been accomplished and fulfilled by Jesus christ.

There are no laws of the country because Israel with New Jeruisalem is yet to come
There are no laws of the priesthood because the Levitical Priesthood is replace by the High Priest, Jesus Christ, and w are al made priests under Him.
Jesus Christ declared food entering the body do not dorrupt the person it is what is kept in the hearts that can corrupt a person, all manner of sin.........gosh, all foods when receive with thanksgiving are holy.
Tithing has become a thing of the past because our assemblies do not represent a countryi, but donating to your assembly is good because like the workman, the minister is worthy of his wages, so too are we to provide for the needy without looking to see who it may be.
There remain only laws , commandments which when read are common decensy and within the two great laws of Love, for God is Love.
I know you may thing this is wrong, but it is only becaue you do not hear Jesus Christ our King. I do not say you are not my brother in CFhrist, never, but under grace we do obey the laws on our hearts, and you may look to Paul in Romans when he cites, now faith establishes the law. What is established is not dead.

Obey God when it is commaded. If the law is not within the frame of Love and mercy.......don't worry about it, unless new undersanding comes to you. God bless you and keep the faith; it estlishes the law as it should be now.

I find it absolutely bizarre that most who are "against the Sabbath" as the Father gave it to us and Jesus taught how to observe run to Moses.

My understanding of the laws and commandments is refreshed and realized fully from Jeus christ. I do not need to consult the Pentateuch, but I do study it because it is God's wisdom, and it is fulfilled in Jesus Christ.

So, you folks who presume to undertnd what and why it is with me about the Seventh Day should reeally leaern from Jesus Christ and stop trying to get me or tohers to rest on the Books of Moses. The truth I most of yo probably only read what you can search for online andfeebly attempt to use it agains those who already know.

I believe many of you are confusing the seventh day with the day you choose to worsip as the Sabbath of the Lord.

God rested from His works on the seventh dayafter His six days of creating al that is. This has not changed. God has not announced aything to this effect.

Think and do not follow the teachings of men in place of God's Word. That is not only wrong it is perverse.
Again I repeat what you ignore. The early church worshipped on the first day of the week.

can you show in the Word where Sunday is deemed a set apart day?

Mat 4:4, “But He answering, said, “It has been written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of יהוה.” (Deut 8:3)

Acts 13:44, “And on the next Sabbath almost all the city came together to hear the Word of YHWH."

Beautiful Hiz,

Isn't it fascinating that were are engaged in the same battle between God's Righteousness and Man's righteousness which has been going on since ancient times? Truly "there is no new thing under the sun".

Hi Hizikyah,

I hope you realise that this verse in Acts does not mean Christians are under the law to hold Sabbath. It just shows that Paul went to the synagogues first, to proclaim the New Covenant, the Gospel.

It has no reference to Christians having to keep the Mosaic Sabbath. You do know that right?

This brings to mind the Words of Jesus.

Luke 16:29 Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.
30 And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.

31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

Amazing to me Jesus knew exactly what believers would deal with today, all those years ago.

Good posts JJ.

I hope your Sabbath is as refreshing as it is to me.

Hi Jaumj,

Nice post, but irrelevant to the conversation lets got back to the topic. Keeping the Mosaic Sabbath is not part of the Gospel, and the Mosaic Sabbath is not written on mans heart.
