I am using the wor4d according to its meaning and according to its usage by the poster to whom I am replying.

The word cult in religion implies a group of people who adhere to new revelation. As such Christianity is a culture of Judaism. Christian cults include Mormons, Christian Science, and Unification Church. Each of these have a book of new revelation they adhere to in addition to the Bible which holds second place to them. Their book(s) override the Bible!! Without this new revelation and adhering to the Bible only makes them Christians with distinctives in minor issues.

Adherence to the Apostles Creed defines who is and is not a Christian!!! That is the reason for the Creed!!!!

More of your claims of judgment. All who believe Jesus Christ are led by the Holy Spirit in their understanding. If you knew this you would ot be leveling accusations so easily.

Hi Jaumej,

and here is what you mean.

Some names and words off the top of my head which are transsliterated to English from Hebrew.....

Hohn, Jeremiah, Jerusalem, Jacob James, Joshua, Judah, Joseph, Jellyfish, no, leave out tht last one.

Now it is prfectly in line with all of these incorrects ounds tranliterated from the Hebrew for some to mistakenly refer to YHWH as Jehovah, also replacing the w osound for a v.........

No one should speak over his own head when it comes to this subject for even expert scholars are in error about the Hebrew language, and preobably all language for that matter. One example in English is the word god. The word god is traced byck to Sanskrit, however the origiin in Sanskrit is not truly known.........get the idea yet?

It is not profitable to attack people who have worked to learn of the Hebrew tongue, or any, to continually attack without your weapons loaded......It makes people, the ones with the weapons, look foolish.
You obviously didn't read my post. The Latin Vulgate was around when Jesus was alive and he quoted from it. I had Latin in HS. Latin is not Hebrew. Jehovah springs from the Latin Vulgate translation into English. Latin has no Y or W. In Latin J sounds like Y and V sounds like W. Therefore from the Latin Vulgate YHWH is JHVH. Live with the facts instead of going off half cocked. JHVH becomes Jehovah but adhering to the Latin pronunciation of letters should be pronounced Yehowa.

AS far as I have been able to ascertain the first translation of the LATIN vULGATE bIBLE IS ATTRIBUTED TO one St. Jerome in the 4th Century. I believe that is far after Christ. Also, it could not have been the Bible since the New Testament was first compiled a hudred years after Christ was ascended.

oNCE THE j WAS INTRODUCED IN PLACE OF THE YOD THIS became the norm for translation, the practiced manner. It is not correct in any language I believe Jesus, in Latin, is Yesu.........you may correct meif that is wrong..i REALLY DO NOT MIDN, HOWEER WHAT i HAVE OBSERVED IN TIS PST OTHERWISE IS ORTHODOX AND CORRECT.

Your the one who said you have read the posts... Start at the beginning and read through...it's what you should have done before jumping in with two left feet!
I said I looked. There are 4000 posts. Are you refusing to help someone who is seeking?

lightbearer,
re: "Where? I looked and did not see it."

Don't hold your breath. I asked the same question and so far he hasn't provided any scripture which says that anyone met on the first day of the week in honor of the resurrection.

Hi Lightbearer,

The first mention is on PAGE 2!
This...
It was the custom of the early church to meet on the first day of the week. But Christians met when they could (they were slaves and had little choice.) . That is why Paul said it is enough that we keep one day to the Lord. Many Jewish Christians met on the Sabbath with the Jews and on the first day of the week with fellow Christians (as Jews they had special privileges).

Later Christians kept the Sabbath for doing good deeds (not resting), and the Sunday as a day or rest.

Maybe God knows better than we do,
You said scripture, That is not Scripture. Did you mean some other post?

It's typical Jaumej. When the facts can't be dealt with he usually retorts with... I am Holy and have spiritual knowledge and you are just following man. It shows his ineptness in dealing with facts.

and

Its how you win an argument apparently.. claim you are more spiritual and everyone else is of the flesh!
In other words he has no answers so he slams others with derogation, no handling of the facts, just mouthy.

Then it is noted he claims his super spiritual status. I can't recall engaging him in the past. I suppose nailing Hebrew Roots with the facts is a no no with him. :D

Okay....this post?
Revelation 1:10

New International Version

On the Lord's Day I was in the Spirit, and I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet,

....
Matthew Henry's Concise Commentary
1:9-11...The day and time when he had this vision was the Lord's day, the Christian sabbath, the first day of the week, observed in remembrance of the resurrection of Christ. Let us who call him Our Lord, honour him on his own day
.
Hmm? You do know that Rev. 1:10 does not actually say that the Sabbath was changed to Sunday don't you?
Mr. Henry's comments are rather subjective. Any idea where he came up with the Lord's day being Sunday and the Christian Sabbath?

Ignatius maybe? Are you Catholic? Just asking, because Ignatius also wrote rather heretically...

Chapter 8. Let nothing be done without the bishop

See that you all follow the bishop, even as Jesus Christ does the Father, and the presbytery as you would the apostles; ...
Chapter 9. Honour the bishop

....It is well to reverence both God and the bishop. He who honours the bishop has been honoured by God; he who does anything without the knowledge of the bishop, does [in reality] serve the devil. ....

Just so you know where I am coming from there is nothing conclusive to prove the Lord's day is the 7th Day Sabbath either. One could make a connection between it and the Lord saying he is the Lord of the Sabbath but that can be argued against also.
