"Easter” Why didn’t Jesus Christ leave instructions regarding its observance?

The Catholic Encyclopedia’s frank admission in the article on Easter says:
[Easter] is also the oldest feast of the Christian Church, as old as Christianity,
the connecting link between the Old and New Testaments.

That [the apostolic fathers do not mention it] and that we first hear of it principally
through the Controversy of the Quartodecimans are purely accidental”

Easter. —The English term, according to the Ven. Bede (De temporum ratione, I, v),
relates to Eôstre, a Teutonic goddess of the rising light of day and spring,
https://www.catholic.com/encyclopedia/easter#III._PECULIAR_CUSTOMS_OF_EASTER_TIME

Catholic Encyclopedia states that Easter is first mentioned in connection
with the “controversy of the Quartodecimans,”

This theological battle was called the Quartodeciman Controversy.

Polycarp was a disciple of John the Apostle
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polycarp

Polycrates contended, as Jesus and the original apostles taught,
that the Passover should be observed in the new Christian form
introduced by Jesus and by the apostle Paul (1 Corinthians 11),

using unleavened bread and wine instead of sacrificing a lamb,
on the eve of the 14th Nisan (first month in the sacred calendar,
occurring in the spring).

But [the Rome church] insisted that it be observed on a Sunday.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quartodecimanism
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Easter_controversy

-

Polycrates followed after Polycarp and Irenaeus
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polycrates_of_Ephesus

Polycrates is best known for his letter addressed to the Roman Bishop Victor
who was attempting to find a consensus about the proper date to celebrate Easter,

-

“Ecclesiastical history preserves the memory of three distinct phases
of the dispute regarding the proper time of observing Easter. …

“A letter of St. Irenaeus … shows that the diversity of practice regarding Easter had
existed at least from the time of Pope Sixtus (c. 120). Further, Irenaeus states that
St. Polycarp, who, like the other Asiatics, kept Easter on the 14th day of the moon
[Passover], whatever day of the week that might be, following therein the tradition
which he claimed to have derived from St. John the apostle, came to Rome c. 150
about this very question, but could not be persuaded by Pope Anicetus to relinquish
his Quartodeciman observance [on the 14th day of the month]. …

“The second stage in the Easter controversy centers round the Council
of Nicaea (a.d. 325)” (“Easter Controversy,” ibid.).

Passover, observed annually on the 14th day of the month of Nisan, was observed
by all the early Christians. About 100 years after Christ’s death, Pope Sixtus of Rome
began making the switch to Easter Sunday, while Polycarp—appointed bishop of the
Church of Smyrna by the apostles who had been personally instructed by Jesus Christ
—continued to keep Passover just as the Apostle John had taught him.

A controversy calling for the annual Sunday observance of “Easter” continued for
almost 200 years, until Easter was officially adopted by the church at Rome at the
time of Constantine in a.d. 325. The decision of the Council of Nicaea in that year
was unanimous; Easter was to be kept on the same Sunday throughout the world,

and that “none hereafter should follow the blindness of the Jews” in keeping Passover.
This decision was not based upon scriptural grounds but upon the personal preferences
of the church leaders at that time.

Those few who continued to keep the Passover on the 14th day, according to biblical
commands, were named “Quartodecimani” and were forced to separate themselves
from the unity of that church backed by the Roman Emperor Constantine.

As a result, the politically backed church at Rome grew to great size and power by
adopting the popular Easter practice centered on Sunday worship, while those who
practiced the teachings and examples of Jesus Christ and the early apostles were
destined to become persecuted outcasts.

Pagan Traditions: So how do colored eggs and hot cross buns
fit into this pagan festival adopted by the Catholic Church?

Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years
I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears.

You sabbatarians are very dishonest.

When it fits your view, you are stressing the fact that apostolic fathers are or are not saying something.

On the other hand, regarding Sabbath, you ignore apostolic fathers totally:

----

"Furthermore he says to them, 'Your new moons and the sabbaths I cannot away with.'
Do you see what he means? The present sabbaths are not acceptable to me, but that which I have made, in which I will give rest to all things and make the beginning of an eighth day, that is the beginning of another world.
Wherefore we also celebrate with gladness the eighth day in which Jesus also rose from the dead, and was made manifest, and ascended into Heaven."

Barnabas 15:8-9
- written between 80-120 AD
The Epistle of Barnabas (translation Roberts-Donaldson)

"If, therefore, those who were brought up in the ancient order of things have come to the possession of a new hope, no longer observing the Sabbath, but living in the observance of the Lord's Day, on which also our life has sprung up again by Him and by His death..."

Ignatios to Magnesians 9:1
- written between 105-115 AD
St. Ignatius of Antioch to the Magnesians (Roberts-Donaldson translation)

"But as to their scrupulosity concerning meats, and their superstition as respects the Sabbaths, and their boasting about circumcision, and their fancies about fasting and the new moons, which are utterly ridiculous and unworthy of notice...
And as to their observing months and days, as if waiting upon the stars and the moon, and their distributing, according to their own tendencies, the appointments of God, and the vicissitudes of the seasons, some for festivities, and others for mourning,--who would deem this a part of divine worship, and not much rather a manifestation of folly? I suppose, then, you are sufficiently convinced that the Christians properly abstain from the vanity and common error and from the busy-body spirit and vain boasting of the Jews."

Diognetus 4:1
- written between 130-200 AD
Diognetus. The Epistle of Mathetes to Diognetus (translation Roberts-Donaldson).

Hello trofimus

How are you today? There is no dishonesty pointing all to the Word of God over the teachings and traditions of men. Only God's Word is true. Pointing people to the words of men over the word of God is where many are led away from God.

Why you would quote the teachings and traditions of men over the Word of God is beyond me. However this is your choice and not mine. Be warned however on judgement day it is not man that you will need to answer to but God and it will be the WORD of God rejected that you will be judged by because it is written;

If any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. He that rejects me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judges him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. (John 12:47-48)

We must believe God's Word over the teachings and traditions of man that break the commandments of God. Because it is written again; Let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou might be justified in thy sayings, and might overcome when thou art judged. (Romans 3:4)

There is NO scripture in ALL the bible that says that God's 4th commandment is now ABOLISHED and we are to follow Sunday worship in it's place.

God's 4th commandment is one of the ten (Exodus 20:8-11) and like any of the ten, if we knowingly break it when God asks us not to we stand guilty before God of committing sin (James 2:8-12). If we do not seek him in repentance and forgiveness we are in danger of the Judgement (Hebrews 10:26-27)

Sunday worship is a tradition and teaching of man that has lead many to break the commandments of God. Jesus says that if we follow the traditions of man that break the commandments of God we are not following God (Matthew 15:3-9)

Who should we follow the teachings and traditions of men or the Word of God? Who should we believe the Words of men or the Word of God?

Hi, try to read the flow of posts, I am not quoting apostolic fathers in the opposition to God, but in the opposition to "prove-all"´s post about apostolic fathers.

That is why we point to the word of God as drawing attention to the fact that the so called ten commandments are an integral part of God's covenant with physical Israel.

Why you would quote the teachings and traditions of men over the Word of God is beyond me.
Actually he was quoting the early fathers in retaliation to the use of the early fathers by your party. However they were early enough to be apostolic tradition. They do show that the idea that Sunday was the day of worship far antedates Constantine.

However this is your choice and not mine. Be warned however on judgement day it is not man that you will need to answer to but God and it will be the WORD of God rejected that you will be judged by

I presume you mean 'the word of God accepted'. The New Testament NOWHERE advocates the seventh day as a day of worship except to the Jews. The first day of the week is at least mention in Acts 20.7.

because it is written;

If any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. He that rejects me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judges him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. (John 12:47-48)
And where does Jesus advocate the Sabbath for non-Jews?

We must believe God's Word over the teachings and traditions of man that break the commandments of God. Because it is written again; Let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou might be justified in thy sayings, and might overcome when thou art judged. (Romans 3:4)

so that settles it for the first day of the week.

There is NO scripture in ALL the bible that says that God's 4th commandment is now ABOLISHED and we are to follow Sunday worship in it's place.
The 4th word is not abolished. It still apples to Israel. But it is in the old covenant which does not apply to Gentiles.

God's 4th commandment is one of the ten (Exodus 20:8-11)
yes one of ten stipulation for Jewish worship and obedience (Exodus 20).

and like any of the ten, if we knowingly break it when God asks us not to we stand guilty before God of committing sin (James 2:8-12).
James does not mention ten. You just assume.

Hello valiant,

If you are not a part of God's Israel you are not a part of the NEW Covenant.......

Who are Israel?

"Israel" is only a name given by God himself to represent his people. The origin of the name "Israel" come from Genesis 32:28 where Jacob wrestled with the Angel and prevailed ...for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed. Its meaning is his posterity will rule as God. Jacob had 12 sons representing the 12 tribes of Israel.

Israel is only a name given by God that represents God's people and today anyone who is following Jesus is part of God's Israel according to God's Word.

What does God's Word say.....................................................................…

Let God be true and every man a liar that thou might be justified in thy sayings, and might overcome when thou art judged.

Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He says not, and to seeds, as of many; but as of one, AND TO YOUR SEED, WHICH IS CHRIST (Galatians 3:16)

Abraham’s seed is Israel................................................

THERE IS NEITHER JEW NOR GREEK, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: FOR YOU ALL ALL ONE IN CHRIST JESUS AND IF YOU BE CHRISTS, THEN YOU ARE ABRAHAM'S SEED FOR YOU ARE ALL ONE IN CHRIST JESUS and IF YOU BE CHRISTS, THEN ARE YOU ABRAHAM'S SEED, AND HEIRS ACCORDING TO THE PROMISE (Galatians 3:28).

No explanation needed, believe God's Word, and again..........................

FOR THEY ARE NOT ALL ISRAEL WHICH ARE OF ISRAEL,: NEITHER, BECAUSE THEY ARE THE SEED OF ABRAHAM, ARE THEY ALL CHILDREN: but in Isaac shall thy seed be called <Christ> That is, THEY WHICH ARE THE CHILDREN OF THE FLESH, THESE ARE NOT THE CHILDREN OF GOD: BUT THE CHILDREN OF THE PROMISE <those who believe> ARE COUNTED FOR THE SEED (Romans 9:6).

FOR HE IS NOT A JEW WHICH IS ONE OUTWARDLY; NEITHER IS THAT CIRCUMCISION, WHICH IS OUTWARDS IN THE FLESH: BUT HE IS A JEW WHICH IS ONE INWARDLY; and CIRCUMCISION IS OF THE HEART, IN THE SPIRIT, AND NOT IN THE LETTER; whose praise is not of men, but of God. (Romans 2:28-29)

Believe the scriptures......................................................................

Galatians 3:28-29
,
There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Colossians 3:11,
Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.

Romans 10:11-13,
For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Romans 2:28-29,
For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.

The New Covenant is for God's Israel..........................

Jeremiah 31:33-4,
But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, says the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, says the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

Hebrews 8:10-12,For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest. For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

Hebrews 10:14-17,
For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified. Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before, this is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; and their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.

Galatians 3:29,

And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise

The New Covenant is for God's Israel which represent God’s followers the believers. If you are not part of God's Israel you are not part of the New Covenant (Hebrews 8:10-12).

God's Israel are those that believe the Word of God and follow it and is why Jesus says If you love me keep my commandments (John 14:15)

This includes the 4th commandment which is one of the ten (Exodus 20:8-11). If we break one of God's commandments we stand guilty before God of breaking them all (James 2:8-12)

May God bless you as you seek him through His Word.

Hello gb9,

There is nothing wrong with the scripture you quoted it is just your interpretation of it.

ONLY BELIEVERS ARE NOT UNDER THE LAW OF SIN AND DEATH .............

If you are living a life of known unrepentant SIN you are indeed UNDER THE LAW.......

Romans 3

9, What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: FOR WE HAVE BEFORE PROVED BOTH JEW AND GENTILES, THAT THEY ARE ALL UNDER SIN.

Romans 3
23, FALL ALL HAVE SINNED AND FALL SHORT OF THE GLORY OF GOD;

Romans 3
19, NOW WE KNOW THAT WHAT THINGS SO EVER THE LAW SAYS, IT SAYS TO THEM UNDER THE LAW; THAT EVERY MOUTH MAY BE STOPPED AND ALL THE WORLD BECOME GUILTY BEFORE GOD.

Romans 2
6, He will repay each one according to his works:
7, To them who by patient continuance in WELL DOING seek for glory and honor and immortality, eternal life:
8, But unto them that are contentious, and DO NOT OBEY THE TRUTH, but OBEY UNRIGHTEOUSNESS, INDIGNATION AND WRATH,
9, Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that does evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;
10, But glory, honor, and peace, to every man that works good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile:
11, For there is no respect of persons with God.
12, For AS MANY AS HAVE SINNED WITHOUT THE LAW SHALL ALSO PERISH WITHOUT THE LAW: and AS MANY AS HAVE SINNED UNDER THE LAW shall be judged by the law;
13, For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.

Romans 8
1, There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
2,
FOR THE LAW OF THE SPIRIT OF LIFE IN CHRIST HAS MADE ME FREE FROM THE LAW OF SIN AND DEATH .
3, For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, CONDEMNED SIN IN THE FLESH: <Why?>
4, THAT THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF THE LAW MIGHT BE FULFILLED IN US WHO WALK NOT AFTER THE FLESH BUT AFTER THE SPIRIT.

Romans 6
12, Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.
13, Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
14, For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law <SIN AND DEATH>, but under grace.
15, What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.
16, Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
17, But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart <NEW heart> that form of doctrine which was delivered you.

You are under the LAW OF SIN AND DEATH IF YOU ARE LIVING A LIFE OF KNOWN UNREPENTANT SIN!

If you have accepted God's gift of Grace by FAITH you are FREE from the LAW OF SIN AND DEATH meaning you are NOW FREE NOT TO SIN because you have been forgiven and now have the POWER to walk in NEWNESS of LIFE........

Those living in known UNREPENTANT SIN do NOT KNOW Him who LOVES all and need to SEEK Him in REPENTANCE and CONFESSION of SIN because they do not KNOW God and are NOT FREE from SIN.

1 John 3
3, And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.
4, Whosoever commits sin transgresses also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
5, And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.
6, Whosoever abides in him sins not: whosoever sins hath not seen him, neither known him.
7, Little children, let no man deceive you: he that does righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
8, He that commits sin is of the devil; for the devil sins from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
9, Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
10, In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever does not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loves not his brother.

Who should we follow the teachings and traditions of men or the Word of God? Who should we believe the Words of men or the Word of God?

If you have KNOWN UNREPENTANT SIN in your LIFE you are INDEED Still "UNDER THE LAW" and an UNBELIEVER. It should be also made CLEAR that UNBELIEVERS have NO place in the KINGDOM of HEAVEN until they REPENT, CONFESS and BELIEVE the WORD of God. Faith is the VICTORY.

Hope this is helpful....

Such manipulations with Scriptures, Apostolic Fathers, history etc are quite common between them... well, they need to do that, because they are not bringing truth.

Hello Friend,

There is only life in the living Word. These are his Words and not my own. Freely I give because freely I have received. Your Words are not directed towards me but to the one who the Word belongs.

The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord. It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household?

There is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known. I must speak in the light and what I hear preach in the housetops. Many will not hear because they do not know Him. He is the Word of God and those that believe him are those that he has chosen.

They follow him because they love him and are loved by him and KNOW him. Those that do NOT BELIEVE Him and FOLLOW HIM are still in their SINS and do NOT KNOW HIM. It is hard to kick against the pricks with no shoes on and hard to see where you are going if your mirror is lost or broken.

What manipulation of scripture are you talking about and why is it manipulated in your view or are you just saying this because you cannot respond to the scriptures posted? Only God's Word is true my friend. They are His Words not mine I am nobody he is all and LOVES all and we must point ALL to him because only in Him is LIFE.

For example what gb9 just pointed out with 1 John 3, you manipulated the verse by ending it before it could show its about something else that you try to make it to be.

Prove-all tried to argue by apostolic fathers in Easter issue while he ignores them when they write about Sabbath/Sunday issue.

How are you today? There is no dishonesty pointing all to the Word of God over the teachings and traditions of men. Only God's Word is true. Pointing people to the words of men over the word of God is where many are led away from God.

Why you would quote the teachings and traditions of men over the Word of God is beyond me. However this is your choice and not mine. Be warned however on judgement day it is not man that you will need to answer to but God and it will be the WORD of God rejected that you will be judged by because it is written;

Hi lovegodforever,

The sad reality is that you are blinded to the fact that those who follow the SDA/Sabbatarian teachings are just following the teachings and traditions of a woman and men!

For example what gb9 just pointed out with 1 John 3, you manipulated the verse by ending it before it could show its about something else that you try to make it to be. Prove-all tried to argue by apostolic fathers in Easter issue while he ignores them when they write about Sabbath/Sunday issue.
Hello trofimus,

For reference if you look at post # 970 (linked) you will see that gb9 was quoting or referring to 1 John 3:23-24 out of CONTEXT trying to use the scripture to say God's Law is abolished. I provided the CONTEXT OF 1 John 3:23-24 with 1 John 3:3-14 which is indeed talking about SIN and the obedience to God's 10 commandments. So you might want to consider an apology I have not manipulated any scripture at all only provided the CONTEXT that gb9 left out.

As to Prove-All he can answer for himself. However what did he do wrong? Posted some comments from the RCC on the origin of the pagan festival of Easter and it's introduction to Christianity. What is wrong with that? That is the source of where Easter comes from within the Church.

As to the 4th commandment you have to do the same thing. You go to the source but it is not the RCC it is the Word of God because this is where it comes from. They are two different subjects with two different origins on sources. Once from men (Easter) and the other from God (4th commandment). Why would you go to the teachings of men in order to find the Word of God?

Only God's Word is true and we must BELIEVE and follow it. If we do not we become an UNBELIEVER and UNBELIEVERS have NO part in the Kingdom of Heaven.

It is interesting and significant that the first day is mentioned when Christians met. it's not like the other days that christians met. Why would the 'first day' be specifically mentioned why not the 2nd day or the 3rd day etc etc... MMMmmm
And as the saying goes 'the rest is History' ;) Oh thats right we do have early (christian) historical accounts aswell :)
Following the teaching and traditions of men that break the commandments of God is NO excuse to NOT follow the Word of God over the teachings of men. Peter and the Apostles clearly stated when they were confronted with similar issues that we ought to OBEY God rather then men (Acts 5:29)

Jesus when confronting similar issues called those doing this hypocrites and told them they were NOT following God (Matthew 15:3-9).

There is NO scripture in ALL the bible that says that God's 4th commandment is now ABOLISHED and we are to follow Sunday worship in it's place.

The first commandment given in scripture is in Genesis 2:16-17: "And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, 'Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat: but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat...'" Then Satan enters the scene and begins his war against obeying the Lord's commands, a war that he continues today through those who are doing the same thing.

Hi lovegodforever,

You need to come out of SDA/Sabbatarianism, your blinded to its teachings and traditions of men. Look at all the false prophecies. It shows they twist scripture to back up their teachings and traditions of men, and even putting men and women back under the law.

Don't be blinded any longer LGF.

Phil don'd be sad for me I BELIEVE God's Word and LOVE him and follow Him who calls me in LOVE because he has freed me to LOVE because he first LOVED me. If I did not KNOW Him I would be still in my sins. I ABIDE IN HIM and see him who loves all. Without him I am blind and cannot see. You say you see but those that say they see are the blind ones but they do not know it because they do not KNOW HIM who loves all.

He who sees, sees all. How can you being evil do good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. Those that be whole do not need a physician but those that are sick. By their fruits you will know them. Love is a fruit. Those that love have met the physician. The mirror shows the way that all must look into it and see themselves. Then we can see the one who loves us and know the one who is calling us. It is the small voice behind us saying this is the way walk you in it. It is hard to kick against the pricks. Many are called but few are chosen.

Hi LGF,

I do feel sad for you, Because you have been blinded to all the failed and false prophecies of SDA/Sabbatarianism and their putting people under the yoke of the law and not grace.

I think your on here for a purpose, you may believe you are here to teach us all about how SDA is correct, but I believe God has brought you here so that you can hear the Gospel.

Hi Phil, I am free to love because of His Grace and I am saved by my faith in Him who loves all. I am no one and without Him I can do nothing. He is everything and bids me come, now I walk on water. Everyone is here for a reason.

You will notice in all the posts I have provided to you that the focus is only God's Word and pointing all to God's Word over the teachings and traditions of men. Only God's Word is true.

Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speak. These are the things that defile a man. He must INCREASE and I must DECREASE. You and your friends point all to the teachings and traditions of man and not to the Word of God. Only God's Word is truth and if we do not have it how will we find him and know him who loves us and is not willing that we should be lost?

Phil we are all here for a reason. If you are still in your SINS how can you say you know him? If you are still in your SINS you do not know him and need to seek him so that he will set you free. If the son shall make you free you shall be free indeed.

Jesus is calling all that have ears to hear.....................

Come let us reason together; Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: If any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

Call upon me while I am near, tomorrow may be too late and why will you die when by my stripes you may be healed. With an everlasting love have I loved you and with loving kindness have I drawn you therefore why will you turn from me? It is hard to kick against the pricks.

Only God's Word is true and it is ONLY there you will find him who LOVES ALL.
