Unless you are talking about an iceberg in Alaska. I haven't. if it was flat...then why do certain parts of the world have sunrise while others don't. It should be light at once on a flat plane. and on the sea, why do we see it is rounded in the distance. Wish I had my sony to prove what I took a picture of.

The OP also made this argument inside his fortified wall. When you turn the lights on in your bathroom, does your entire house become illuminated? If I carried a wireless light bulb to the center of a football stadium, would the entire football stadium become lit up?

Same concept, the sun isn't strong enough for it's light to reach the entire earth. Most people reject the flat earth without deep thought or investigation because they apply what they know about the globe earth and immediately deny it as possible. For you the sun is enormous and so strong it could never be thought of as not being able to light up an entire flat surface at once.

It's impossible to believe the earth is flat while you simultaneously believe NASA is credible, that men have walked on the moon, and there is a rover on mars. Arguing flat earth with you people is pointless until you see through the lesser deceptions. If you are not interested in doing so or have unbreakable trust in worldly authority figures, its just not going to happen.

He is just a member with a contrary opinion on whether or not the earth is flat or round. Obviously, like yourself, he is a well educated man. You did write a very good OP. The problem for me was not the content but in the way that it was presented, i.e. lack of paragraphs. This is a common complaint on this site but quite understandable.

Here is a short 2 minute video of someone in scuba gear serving as a camera man for an ISS spacewalker. Not expecting anyone to watch it and immediately deny the authenticity of ISS footage. Its just an example of the kind of "evidence" flat-liners have that lead us to believe its a hoax.

What I got from it basically is what you've been saying all along:

The world is a globe because science told me so, along with NASA and my pre-k teacher.


I understand why you are so adamant about proving your point using what you know, and I don't blame you Mr. Owen.

I just urge you to look beyond the common sources and "evidence" of a globe earth and you try to look into some very real possibilities.

This here is a tail mounted shot at about 30,000ft, if you notice there is indeed a curve... But also the tail of the plane is abnormally curved and it follows the same radius as the rest of the shot.... This means the camera has a fish eye lens, as most "action" cams do...

This is also another fish eye effect, this pic is from the show mythbusters, clearly you can see that the plane (U2) has just taken off and it is not even at altitude yet and there is an exaggerated curve on the right side of the frame. This goes to show
how far they are willing to go to make sure we get our daily dosage of curvature.

So can we now agree that a simple photo showing curve means NOTHING?

Cause I've seen the photos and I can tell you those balloons don't go near as high as you need to truly see the curvature of the Earth, and there you go with your "they use CGI" cliché. You think you have an explanation for everything you see to try and debunk facts, but you fail, every time. My video was ignored as well (as it was the three other times I posted it in other threads). They either don't look at all, or don't want to acknowledge it whosoever because they can't attack it, nor do they want to lend any credibility at all to flat earth.

You people claim you can see curvature in an airplane, and also claim the weather balloons don't go high enough to see curvature even though they go much higher than airplanes.
