hub and I, after our 'conversion, have had many, many, 'burn piles', yes,
we were 'slow', but we did eventually learn all about 'STUFF', for our Saviour
showed us just exactly what all of that garbage was really worth in His world
and realm for us to have the gift of not only realizing what an 'un-cluttered-life
really felt like, but the most precious thing, is 'the freedom' that He has Blessed
us with, by omission and thus, freedom from this wicked-world's influence and the
many ways that satan entices us to try and fill ourselves with HIM/them, instead of what
Jesus desires for us to grab ahold of in order for us to truly put Him FIRST!...
we don't want to hurt anyone's feelings; it's just a share, after so much heartache..
Not really, having things doesn't mess with someone as much as you think, for example alot of times when I speak in the spirit for God,I am playing yugioh gx,or even as fighting game it doesn't "separate" anyone from God or really "keep you from doing for God" so long as you hold fast to God.
You are welcome to burn whatever of yours as tribute to God or just get rid ofof a trove of items, but it doesn't necessarily "keep someone from being distracted" even standing upon ceremony can become a distraction, what matters is "one's focus" and "heart",and "intention",for instance monnkai shared that one of his figurines is inappropriate, but it doesn't necessarily "mess with someone's mind or focus" it's just an object,so long as one doesn't lust after it or worship it,or get centered on it,there is no reason to hastily throw it away or burn it.
What matters most is one's focus not what "one has or doesn't have" and one's "personal feelings" towards objects, like me for instance I don't have any movies, games or shows with nudity anymore, but it only keeps me from seeing such things in a personal manner,it doesn't change the world outside my home, and just like the clutter deal,it can be good or bad depending upon how items are used, for instance a pastor I know has lots of "extra items" like generators, air conditioners, things like that just for the sake of having it to "give it" to someone in need, objects can used for a good cause, like for awhile I used to sell all my anime dvds, games, and game systems,to pay my own way when I didn't have a job or to buy christmas presents, try not to worry so much, objects are just that,"objects" it's oneself that one needs to have right with God,even the poorest person can lust and even the most "uncluttered" person can have stumblings,We must put God/Jesus first and do what he leads us to do,this doesn't mean we "quickly" do something to try to please him,it means we are "willing" to let go of things we have valued to do for him,it doesn't always mean that you have to.
