personally, we don't believe that Jesus needs assistance 'over-seas', we believe that He has it covered...
we believe that He needs His people right here, right now...more than ever...!!!
I'm sorry you took offense at my post and I hope you will accept my apology. The reason I have a knowledge about being a Calvinist and not a hyper Calvinist is because that is the church we were raised in. Our church revered Calvin and were all 5 pointers. Some were very Calvinistic in their approach to God and our family broke off from that church eventually because we no longer saw Jesus in that way.
These are not "fictitious" folks. These were the brothers and sisters in Christ we knew and know intimately in our church for many years. And I was once one who believed in Calvinism myself. Since leaving Calvin behind., my prayer life changed too as I have been sharing here on this thread. Prayer does change things and if we don't pray., things won't happen., prayers won't be answered.
If you still believe I consistently throw accusations in people's faces I'm sorry that's not my intention.
Just a misunderstanding on both sides I believe. Would you reread your post again and maybe see that you are at least being highly critical of some people. Thank you for your polite reply.
Yep been spreading the rep around all day and it still won't let me add a rep to you, not sure why now?
You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to SovereignGrace again.

The same thing happened to me once when I tried to rep Laish. After spreading some rep around, I went to rep Laish and it said I had given out too much rep over a 24 hour period.
God uses primary and secondary means to fulfill His purposes. But God does not make anyone sin. Its their wicked heart that causes them to do that.
Arminians believe they can lose their salvation just by walking outside and Molinists have a whacko view of God's omniscience. I am gladly in neither camp.
Can you explain exactly what's primary and secondary?
I'm glad you don't think God caused or determined anyone to sin. Calvinist usually imply it by saying God caused or determined everything. Just to make extra sure, you do believe God did NOT cause or determine EVERYTHING right? That would make God the cause of sin/evil if you say yes.
Yeah, nobody in the world ever denies these ideas... oddly Calvinist often use these non-supportive examples to support Calvinism. And also think someone like myself am not okay with this. Man does evil and God can use that evil.

Did God know ahead of time that Nineveh would repent and in turn He would not destroy them in forty days? If so, wouldn't that make God out to be a liar?
God knew that if Nineveh would believe His word and repent, in turn He would have mercy on them and not destroy them because that fits into His character. See Jeremiah 18.
...and she says she grew up listening to John McGarther. Yeah. Sure. I believe that.
If she grew up under sound doctrine she wouldn't be heretical today.
In fact in her testimonies in the recent past she grew up under some sort of heretical group by her own admission. She's simply switched gears on the same heresy bicycle, and is still pedaling.
Shout out to the people who spent time studying reformed theology and use real arguments against it and not just the same worn-out non-arguments that have been refuted over and over and over again.
Under the "reformed umbrella" you see people are quite in agreement. Very little division. Yet in the other camp its very very chaotic. You can roll dice on the answers you get.
