Hi brother LoveGod, sabbath plural mean every sabbath. in OT we have to rest and worship God, because sabbath is shadow, now we rest in Jesus every days what ever we do every day must be for the glory of God.
If what Paul mean is Holy days, and sabbath what he mean is special sabbath, I believe he say so the verse will be: you have to keep whirship the Lord on sabbath like Jews, but you don't need to make sacrifice animal. both sacrifice animal and sabbath is shadow of Jesus.
Hello brother Jackson

Read the post I sent earlier with all the scriptures talking about Leviticus 23. You will see the Shadow Sabbath(S) are the annual Jewish festival sabbaths that are not weekly sabbaths. These are also called Sabbath(s) (Lev 23:24; 32) which can fall on any day of the week (not 7th day)

God's weekly Sabbath from the 4th commandment has never been a shadow of anything because it is a part of a FINISHED Work of CREATION BEFORE SIN entered our world so cannot be a part of the plan of salvation. The ceremonial sabbaths of Lev 23 however are part of the Mosaic laws for remission of sin pointing to Jesus and nailed to the cross (Col 2).

Look at the scriptures and BELIEVE God's Word.

That was NOT called a Sabbath in Genesis.

So is Exodus 20.

Look at the scriptures and BELIEVE God's Word.

this may be hard for some to understand, but Jesus 'relates' to 'each of us' in His own
particular way...rejoice when you understand and truthfully receive a Truth that He has
shared with you, this gift of learning and growing,,..believe, it is meant just for you and you alone.
He Loves and treats us all as 'individuals', and yet, members of the same Body,
and on a level that is His own, that we can only understand by the individual way that He is teaching us,..
yes, we are to be a part of His One, Holy, Body, as a Unit, and we will one day become a family,
a Unity of His Pure Love...
but He keeps us always as He has made us, 'different and apart from each other in our own
sacred connection to Him as individuals'...how Loving and precious is this?

we can always remain whom He created us to be from forever, simply, ourselves - yet we can
keep growing and learning and becoming what He desires us to become because of the
un-imaginable ways that He has created us and this world that we live in...

16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.
Seem to me Paul say respect Holy days, sabbath day is a shadow of Jesus.

so after the real come, (Jesus) we not use shadow anymore.

now the real replace the shadow.
People do not seem to understand the purpose of a 'shadow....it is not without 'significance...but is the 'reflection, shape, outline of a REALITY not yet seen.
People seem to think they can ignore a 'shadow instead of using it as a 'pointer toward the real thing or person that causes the shadow.

The 'Sabbath sign or shadow POINTS to the 'Lord of the Sabbath' and not to any other Jesus !!!

When Yashua/Jesus said that 'many will come in His name and say they are Christ they will 'deceive many (into following them) Mat 24...see that you are not deceived.
So if you are being shown 'many christ's by false teachers HOW will you recognise the REAL one ?
'By the SABBATH shadow of course'....no other way will you recognize Him !

So why are people ignoring the shadow when it is the only thing to point them to the REAL Christ and Lord of the Sabbath ?

As long as people ignore/reject the Sabbath shadow' they have NOT YET FOUND THE REAL JESUS and are following an imposter who is deceiving them !!! Too many people/christians think they can 'skip over God's direction and still get saved...but it shows their DISobedience and they will not inherit His Kingdom ! God will not be mocked or ignored or superseded by sinful man's own opinions.

Hello brother Jackson,

The weekly Sabbath is mentioned in Leviticus 23 in verse 3 of course. That is not the point that I was trying to share with you earlier.

The point I was making earlier and sharing with you is that the annual festival Sabbaths and Holy Convocations in the annual Jewish Festivals in Leviticus 23 were special sabbaths (not the 7th Day Weekly Sabbath of God's 4th commandment).

These annual sabbaths are not the 4th commandment (Not the 7th Day according to God's commandment; Exodus 20:8-11). They can fall on any day of the week depending on what year it is. You can find the Holy convocations for most festivals. On these days and the special festival sabbaths NO work was to be conducted.

Col 2 is referring to the Mosaic Shadow laws for remission of Sin which includes the New Moons, annual ceremonial festival sabbaths and holy convocations of Leviticus 23 which could fall on any day of the week (these are not the weekly Sabbath of God's 4th commandment) that were pointing to Jesus and have their fulfillment at the cross (see Exodus 20:8-11; John 19:31;Lev 23:24; 32)

When one of the Festival sabbaths (not weekly 4th commandment) or Holy convocations of Leviticus 23 fell on a normal weekly Sabbath (4th commandment) it was called a high Sabbath day ..................

John 19:31 (BSB)
It was the day of Preparation, and the next day was a High Sabbath. So in order that the bodies would not remain on the cross during the Sabbath, the Jews asked Pilate to have the legs broken and the bodies removed.

John 19:31 (KJV)
The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, for that sabbath day was an High day, besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.

John 19:31 (NIV)
Now it was the day of Preparation, and the next day was to be a special Sabbath. Because the Jewish leaders did not want the bodies left on the crosses during the Sabbath, they asked Pilate to have the legs broken and the bodies taken down.

The annual festival Sabbaths of Lev 23 were different to God's weekly 7th day Sabbath of the 4th commandmenthere are a few examples below...........

Leviticus 23

4, These are the feasts of the LORD, even holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons.
5, In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is the LORD'S Passover.
6, And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread unto the LORD: seven days ye must eat unleavened bread.
7, In the first day ye shall have an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein.
8, But ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD seven days: in the seventh day is an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein.

Leviticus 23:24

Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation.

Leviticus 23
26, And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
27, Also on the tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a day of atonement: it shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD.
28, And ye shall do no work in that same day: for it is a day of atonement, to make an atonement for you before the LORD your God.
29, For whatsoever soul it be that shall not be afflicted in that same day, he shall be cut off from among his people.
30, And whatsoever soul it be that doeth any work in that same day, the same soul will I destroy from among his people.
31, Ye shall do no manner of work: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations in all your dwellings.
32, It shall be unto you a sabbath of rest, and ye shall afflict your souls: in the ninth day of the month at even, from even unto even, shall ye celebrate your sabbath.

Now these special Sabbaths that were NOT the weekly Sabbath of God's 4th commandment (Exodus 20:8-11) could fall on ANY day of the week and whatever day it fell on NO Work was to be carried out hence special or uncommon sabbath. (see High Sabbaths wiki)

16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: sabbath without s (kjv) days with s it is plurar because it mean both weekly sabbath and yearly sabbath
Brother Jackson, now take a look at the scripture in Leviticus chapter 23, The word sabbath(s) is plural in Col 2:16 because there is more than one of these special annual holy days that were required to be kept in the annual Festivals. Also have a look at the context of all the other things mentioned together in v16 (1) Meat and Drink, (2) Holy days (The GREEK Word used is Festivals), (3) New Moons and (4) sabbath(s). All of the 4 points highlighted is to do with the annual Jewish Festivals (Passover, Feast of Unleavened Bread, Feast of First Fruits, Feast of Booths (Tabernacles), Feast of Trumpets, Atonement see Leviticus 23)

Col 2:16
Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath [days]

All of the above (1) Meat and drink offerings, (2) Holy days (GREEK word = Festival), (3) New Moon and (4) sabbath day(s) are all a requirement of the annual festivals mentioned throughout the Old testament in Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, Ezekiel and other places in relation to the annual Jewish festivals. Col 2:14-17 is NOT talking about God's 4th commandment but referring to the annual festival Holy days.

Here compare some of the scriptures here............

COL. 2 [16] Let no man therefore judge you in MEAT, or in DRINK, or in respect of an HOLYDAY, or of the NEW MOON, or of the SABBATH DAY(S) <plural>:

EZEKIEL 45 [17] And it shall be the prince's part to give BURNT OFFERINGS, and MEAT OFFERINGS, and DRINK OFFERINGS, in the FEASTS, and in the NEW MOONS, and in the SABBATH(S), in all solemnities of the house of Israel: he shall prepare the sin offering, and the meat offering, and the burnt offering, and the peace offerings, to make reconciliation for the house of Israel.

Here’s a scripture, same exact order as Col 2{16}, meat, drink, holy days (feast days), new moons, Sabbath(s). No doubt what so ever these 2 scriptures are speaking of the same thing. See how that on those days there was a sin offering made. The blood of Christ is now that offering. Col.2 and Ezekiel 45 are simply speaking of the meat and drink offerings which were written in the Mosaic law contained within the ordinances which were to take place on Gods annual festivals, new moons and His annual ceremonial Sabbath days and Holy convocations (Leviticus 23).

HEBREWS 13 [9] Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be ESTABLISHED WITH GRACE; NOT WITH MEATS, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein. [10] We have an altar, whereof they have no right to eat which serve the tabernacle. [11] For THE BODIES OF THOSE BEASTS, WHOSE BLOOD is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned without the camp. [12] WHEREFORE JESUS ALSO, THAT HE MIGHT SANCTIFY THE PEOPLE WITH HIS OWN BLOOD, suffered without the gate.

But now we are no longer under the Mosaic laws concerning the meat and drink offerings of Gods holy days, new moons and annual festival sabbaths and holy convocations. Jesus fulfilled the law. We are now under grace.

JOHN 6 [53] Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. [54] Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. [55] For MY FLESH IS MEAT INDEED, and MY BLOOD IS DRINK INDEED.

When we let scripture interpret scripture it’s very clear what Col.2 is speaking about. The meat and drink offerings of those days are no longer to be kept and no one is to judge you for not keeping them because they were shadows pointing to Jesus.

NUMBERS 28 [9] And on the Sabbath day two lambs of the first year without spot, and two tenth deals of flour for a MEAT OFFERING, mingled with oil, and the DRINK OFFERING thereof: [10] This is the burnt offering of EVERY SABBATH, beside the continual burnt offering, and his drink offering.

There’s the meat and drink offerings for the monthly and annual festival sabbath days that Col.2 [16] was speaking of. This was not a weekly requirement for the 4[SUP]th[/SUP] commandment of God’s Law (Exodus 20:8-11)

EZEKIEL 46 [6] And in the day of the NEW MOON it shall be a young bullock without blemish, and six lambs, and a ram: they shall be without blemish. [7] And he shall prepare a MEAT OFFERING, an ephah for a bullock, and an ephah for a ram, and for the lambs according as his hand shall attain unto, and an hin of oil to an ephah.

The meat offering for the new moon that was spoken of in Col.2 [16].

LEVITICUS 23 [4] These are THE FEASTS OF THE LORD, even holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons. [5] In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is THE LORD'S PASSOVER. [6] And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread unto the Lord: seven days ye must eat unleavened bread…… [13] And the MEAT OFFERING thereof shall be two tenth deals of fine flour mingled with oil, an offering made by fire unto the Lord for a sweet savour: and the DRINK OFFERING thereof shall be of wine, the fourth part of an hin.

In all the feast days (holy days) meat and drink offerings were written into the laws of commandments contained in the ordinances. The above scripture points out the holy day of Passover when Jesus was crucified.

HEBREWS 9 [1] Then verily THE FIRST COVENANT HAD ALSO ORDINANCES of divine service, and a worldly sanctuary.... [9] WHICH WAS A FIGURE for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience;[10] WHICH STOOD ONLY IN MEATS AND DRINKS, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation.[12] NEITHER BY THE BLOOD OF GOATS AND CALVES, BUT BY HIS OWN BLOOD he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.

Once again, the 1st covenant had ordinances which stood only in meat and drinks which were a figure! A shadow!

EPH.2 [15] HAVING ABOLISHED in his flesh the enmity, even the LAW OF COMMANDMENTS CONTAINED IN ORDINANCES; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;[16] And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:

COL. 2 [13] And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; [14] BLOTTING OUT THE HANDWRITING OF ORDINANCES that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

ISAIAH 24 [5] The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, CHANGED THE ORDINANCE, broken the everlasting covenant.[6] Therefore hath the curse devoured the earth, and they that dwell therein are desolate: therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men left.

But in this “Day of the Lord” scripture it seems the many will go on believing what they’ve been taught by their sunday mourning pulpiteers. They will continue to believe the commandments mentioned in Eph.2 and Col. 2 are the 10 commandments and not the law of commandments contained in the ordinances

The “many” claim that the sabbath was the shadow of Christ. But what do the scriptures say

COL.2 [14] BLOTTING OUT THE HANDWRITING OF ORDINANCES that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;[15] And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.[16] Let no man therefore judge you in MEAT, or in DRINK, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:[17] WHICH ARE A SHADOW OF THINGS TO COME; but the body is of Christ.

You can see many more scriptures provided here in the Col 2 thread linked

Whenever God's 4th commandment is mentioned is it Sabbath day (singular not plural) for example.....

Exodus 20
8, Remember the sabbath day , to keep it holy.
9, Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
10, But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God : in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
11, For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day : wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

and.......

Matthew 12
8,
For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.

There is not one scripture in ALL of God's WORD that says God's 4th commandment is now ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to worship God on Sunday in it's place. There is NO scripture that says Jesus is a Sabbath.

Sunday worship is a tradition and teaching of man that has lead many to break the commandments of God. Jesus says that if we follow the traditions of man that break the commandments of God we are not following God (Matthew 15:3-9)

Who should we follow the teachings and traditions of men or the Word of God? Who should we believe the Words of men or the Word of God?

May God bless you as you seek Him through His Word.

No amount of even very detailed explanation is going to help the disobedient and rebellious because they lack the Holy Spirit of God to help them understand.
This is not an accusation but a scriptural fact Acts 5v32; 1Cor 2v11,14; that has to be corrected if they wantto proceed in the Truth.
Thinking they already know the true Jesus without following any of God's pointers or directions is their deception and if not repented will bear the consequences of their error !

When Jesus/Yashua returns with all His Saints (and who is to know when, since no one knows the day or time) they will preach 'the TRUTH' so people who are humble can be corrected. Don't miss that chance !

COL. 2 [13] And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; [14] BLOTTING OUT THE HANDWRITING OF ORDINANCES that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

May God bless you as you seek Him through His Word.

so you believe this verse refer to annual sabbath?

I am sorry, I am not agree with you

1. Meat or drink or..... or...... or....... or respect of an Holy day, or ... or sabbath days

mean all sabbath

pay attention on days plural. Mean what ever sabbath.

If only yearly sabbath the verse will be all sabbath but weekly sabbath.

It is evident you don't understand me....I will say it more simple...

Sabbath day is shadow we must follow to lead us to Christ who is 'Lord of the Sabbath !
Seems you are just looking for excuses not to observe the Sabbath day. Friend...it's your choice, nobody is forcing you...just say 'I don't want to keep the Sabbath' then we will know the real reason why not and no longer argue back and forth.

No friend I said...Sabbath shadow leads to Lord of the Sabbath !!!
Christian Jesus is not Lord of the Sabbath...christian jesus is lord of sunday or every day or any day...this jesus is not obedient to God but tells people they can do as they like....sunday jesus is a false jesus to deceive people to go the way of destruction....at judgement the true Jesus/Yashua will tell them to get away from him because they are lawless/disobedient and HE never knew them Mat 7v21-23.

The Lord of the Sabbath is the real true Jesus who keeps His Fathers Commandments including the Sabbath day Holy ! the false jesus does not. Can you understand ?

What I believe is sabbath is shadow of Jesus. Rest on sabbath mean rest on Jesus.
Animal sacrifice is shadow of Jesus sacrifice. That is why we not do animal sacrifice anymore. Because the real sacrifice is done

so do sabbath.

Sabbath keeping is Law and circumcision is Law. How come Sabbatarians teach us to keep the Sabbath and don't teach us to go through circumcision?

Circumcision is still a requirement, it's just that true Circumcision is of the heart, as Paul teaches. To choose God and His way over our own flesh.

God's Sabbath He created for man is Spiritual as well. But you can't Spiritually observe God's Sabbath by partying, or working for double pay. Just like you can't claim to be Circumcised of the heart and still transgress God's Commandments by man made doctrines and Traditions.

Seems like you are just looking for an excuse to foist the Sabbath on us:)

It isn't a matter of personal choice. Its a matter of reading the Scriptures. The New Testament NOWHERE tells us to keep the Sabbath. We follow the New Testament,

And TRUE 'Sabbath keeping' is to find our rest in Christ.

God's Sabbath He created for man is Spiritual as well.
He didn't create the Sabbath. He gave it to Israel as a sign that He had provided for them (Exod 16)and they were His people.

But you can't Spiritually observe God's Sabbath by partying, or working for double pay.
No you spiritually observe His Sabbath by resting in Him.

Who decides what is man made?

Hello Brother Jackson,

Yes indeed the verse does refer to the special annual sabbaths of the Jewish festivals, because these special Sabbaths were used only for the annual festivals and were on any day of the week. They were not God's 4th commandment of the 7th day.

The annual festivals were part of the ceremonial laws pointing to the coming of Jesus therefore shadow laws. The 4th commandment (Exodus 20:8-11) is part of the 10 commandments which the bible says are forever and has never been a part of the ceremonial laws of Moses as it was given as a memorial of creation to mankind as part of a FINISHED work (Gen 2:1-3) BEFORE SIN entered the world. Just like any of God's other commandments if you knowingly break it you commit SIN and are in danger of the judgement.

For your own sake you need to be careful now brother Jackson as the Word of God has indeed come to you and if you choose to reject it you do so of your own choosing. If you choose not to reject it or accept it the decision is now yours alone.

I do not judge you. However the Word of God will indeed judge all of us in the last days (John 12:47-48). SIN and UNBELIEF in God's Word will keep all who practice it out of God's Kingdom.

My prayer for you is that you carefully study post # 87 with the attached scripture links provided.

There is not one scripture in ALL of God's WORD that says God's 4th commandment is now ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to worship God on Sunday in it's place. There is NO scripture that says Jesus is a Sabbath.

Who should we follow the teachings and traditions of men or the Word of God? Who should we believe the Words of men or the Word of God?

May God bless you as you seek Him through His Word.

Hi LGF, I hope all is well with you.
If you do not mind me saying, to me you are saying that if one fails the 4th commandment then they fall foul of the rest.
Even if they keep 5-10

Does it really matter if a believer observes the Sabbath on a Sunday?
I think if we look at the rich young ruler.
He says "I have kept all the commandment's"
Yet Jesus saw through this and sad the real God in his life. His riches.

You say or it comes across that Sunday worship is observed then those who do so break all the commandment's of God.

That could be said of breaking 5-10.
There is nothing in scripture that says that these commandments have been broken either.

How do you interpret to the following

Matthew 12:1-14
Chapter 12
Jesus Is Lord of the Sabbath
1 At that time Jesus went through the grainfields on the Sabbath. And His disciples were hungry, and began to pluck heads of grain and to eat.
2 And when the Pharisees saw it, they said to Him, “Look, Your disciples are doing what is not lawful to do on the Sabbath!”
3 But He said to them, “Have you not read what David did when he was hungry, he and those who were with him:
4 how he entered the house of God and ate the showbread which was not lawful for him to eat, nor for those who were with him, but only for the priests?5 Or have you not read in the law that on the Sabbath the priests in the temple profane the Sabbath, and are blameless?
6 Yet I say to you that in this place there is One greater than the temple.7 But if you had known what this means, ‘I desire mercy and not sacrifice,’ you would not have condemned the guiltless.
8 For the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath.”
9 Now when He had departed from there, He went into their synagogue.
10 And behold, there was a man who had a withered hand. And they asked Him, saying, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?”—that they might accuse Him.
11 Then He said to them, “What man is there among you who has one sheep, and if it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will not lay hold of it and lift it out?
12 Of how much more value then is a man than a sheep? Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.”
13 Then He said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” And he stretched it out, and it was restored as whole as the other.
14 Then the Pharisees went out and plotted against Him, how they might destroy Him.

Can you provide verses in the NT under the new covenant for new covenant believers to observe the Sabbath as you set it.
Also when with verses that if they do not then they break all the commandment's of God 1-10.
