Keeping the literal Sabbath that was a shadow of what has come in Christ is ignorance of what has come in Christ.

It will certainly not make you more or less holy.
No friend ignorance is what you just stated and not being able to show it from the word of God.

Ignorance is forgetting or not knowing that Christ existed before the cross before he became a man. Forgetting the work of Jesus at creation and leading up to the cross.

I go by a simple truth that I learned form Jesus and the New Testament writers. Following their example back all teachings with the Old testament as the foundation of those teachings.

When Paul taught he proved his point by scripture/OT. Just like all the new testament writers did.

The problem here is I see many people saying what they think the NT means but they can't back it with the scriptures of the OT.

Sometimes I think what we have named the scriptures is misleading.

We say, Old testament and new testament.

But the reality is there is the scriptures/OT and the witness to those scriptures/NT

The reason we accept the whole as truth is because of the fact that the new does testify and line up with the old as its basis.

That is why we don't accept the other apparent Gospels of Enoch etc. They do not line up with the Scritpures/OT thus we reject them as man made.

Asctually Marcion came up with old testament new testament, and he believed an taught the OT god was mean and angry and the nt god was nice and fuzzy.

This makes no sense since not everything in the "OT" has been fulfilledd, and Yahshua/Jesus (so called nt god) will return with vengeance executing judgment upon the evil.

you can't show what is not there. there is no N.T. verse that commands one to keep the Sabbath. that is why there is all this conjoined, out of context Scripture. more will follow this, it still will prove nothing.

Hebrews 3:16-19, "For some, when they had heard, rebelled. But not all rebelled who came out of Egypt through Mosheh. But with whom was He angry forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose corpses fell in the wilderness? And to whom did He vow that they would not enter into His rest, but to those who did not obey? So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief."

Hebrews 4:2, "For this message was preached to us, as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not benefit them, because they did not share in the faith of those who obeyed. "

Here we have and end time prophecy, where the King seems to think the Sabbath is still valid in the end times. Maybe those who disagree need to tell the King He is wrong in His end time prophecy?

Mat 24:20, “But pray that your flight will not be in the winter, nor on the Sabbath Day.”

Why are there not more mentions of the Sabbath in the New Testament? The New Testament consists of the 4 Messages of the Good News of Messiah, Acts, 22 Letters and the Revelation of Yahshua Messiah. Daniyl 7:25, "And he will speak great words against YHWH, and will wear out; mentally attack to cause to fall away, the saints of YHWH, and think to change times and Laws

Luke 16:16-17, “The Torah and the prophets are until Yoḥanan. Since then the reign of YHWH is being announced, and everyone is doing violence upon it. (Zep 3:4) And it is easier for the heaven and the earth to pass away than for one tittle of the Torah to fail.”

Hebrews 4:1-11, "Therefore, since a promise of entering His rest remains, let us fear so that none of you should come short of it. For this message was preached to us, as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not benefit them, because they did not share in the faith of those who obeyed-- However, we who have believed do enter that rest, as He has said: So I vowed in My wrath, They will not enter into My rest, although the works were finished from the foundation of the world, For He spoke in a certain place of the Seventh Day, in this way: And YHWH rested the Seventh Day from all His works. And in this place again: If they will enter into My rest. Since therefore it remains that some must enter it, and those to whom it was first preached did not enter because of disobedience, Again, He designates a certain day, saying in David: ''Today,'' after so long a time, as it has been said: Today, if you will hear His voice, do not harden your hearts. If Yahshua (ben Nun) had given them rest he would not have spoken afterward of another day. Therefore, there remains the keeping of the Sabbath (word G#4520) to the people of YHWH, For he who has entered into His rest (word G#2663) has also ceased from his own works, as YHWH did from His. Therefore, let us be zealous to enter into that rest (word G#2663), so that no one may fall after the same example of unbelief."

There in lies your fault. You seem to think the New testament is here to replace the Old. You only acknowledge one of the two witnesses as if they stand alone and separate.
Paul used the OT to prove his doctrine, can you do this? Or do you bring something new that is not exemplified among the NT writers.

"New Moon" it is the same "moon" every 30 days, but it starts it's cycle over every 30 days... Again it is not a literal new moon... People misunderstand/don't understand the foresight of Yah, that He knew all that would happen before it did, it's not like He realized one day, oh I messed up, I have to change this, no but rather the physical priesthood and animal sacrifice were a placeholder, "the weak and unprofitable" a thing for the people to "have faith/works in" before Messiah came, but it was the foresight of Messiah, a way for them to understand a need for Him while letting the people have their go at it. This Psalm explains it so so so perfectly IMO, better than I ever could:

Psalm 89:26-37, “He will call out to Me; ‘You are My Father, O YHWH! You are the Rock of My salvation!’ And I will make Him My firstborn, higher than the kings of the earth. My mercy I will keep for Him forever and My covenant will stand fast with Him. And I will establish His Seed forever, and His throne will be as the days of heaven. Should His children forsake My Law, and refuse to walk in My judgments; Should they profane My statutes, and fail to keep My commandments; Then I will punish their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with lashes from the whip. Nevertheless, My lovingkindness I will not utterly withdraw from Him, nor will I ever betray My faithfulness. My covenant I will not break, nor will I change what has gone out of My lips. Once for all, I have vowed by My holiness, I cannot lie, and I say to David; His Seed will endure forever, and his throne will endure before Me like the sun. Concerning the 7th day Sabbath it is no shadow at all. It was literal rest on the literal day that God literally finished creation.

The commandment points back to this reality not forward.

If you are to speak of the feast Sabbaths then yes clearly they are a shadow that point forward as the whole Feast was a shadow that pointed to Christ.
I do not believe 4th commandment determine the salvation, Jesus say in matt 25. Love the poor determine salvation,

31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:
32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:
33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.
34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.

Dearest gb9, Hebrews is not talking about the Old testament being of no effect. it is talking about the shadows in the covenant being done away with in Christ.

Do you think that creation is no longer in effect? of course not because Hebrews is not talking about the Old Testament being no longer in effect. It is being very specific as to what is no longer in effect:

Heb 8:4 For if he were on earth, he should not be a priest, seeing that there are priests that offer gifts according to the law:
Heb 8:5 Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount.
Heb 8:6 But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.

Very specific about the priests and the heavenly vs the earthly. Still a priest though and still a temple.

but specifically in regards to the law it says in the very chapter you claim supports you:
Heb 8:8 For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:
Heb 8:9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.
Heb 8:10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:
Heb 8:11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.
Heb 8:12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

Notice this is the new covenant but what law is this speaking of?

Well its actually a quote from the OT just like I said the NT writers did to prove their point.

Jer 31:31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
Jer 31:32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD:
Jer 31:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.
Jer 31:34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

So we see that this is taught in the OT scriptures. Hebrews backing his points with Scripture just like I said.

But what law? "my law"

This was promised to Israel and they knew what "my law" meant. See they were being destroyed because they did not keep Gods law. and God is promising them that he will write his law on their hearts.

An interesting point is that Hebrews which really is focused on how Christ fulfilled aspects of the Sanctuary regarding priesthood and ministry and sacrifices. Yet it never once says the law concerning the ten are changed or done away with. In fact it just reinforces what the Old Testament predicted by the word of God through his prophets. The law would be placed by God in the hearts of men.

That is the problem. Rest is shadow. It doesn't matter how we spell
The Sabbath of God's 4th commandment can never be a Shadow because it is a part of a FINISHED work of creation (Genesis 2:1-3). It has never been a Shadow of the plan of salvation like the Mosaic laws for remission of sin that pointed to Jesus because when it was made there was NO SIN in the WORLD and mankind was in HARMONY with GOD and obedient.

If God's Sabbath is a part of a FINISHED WORK of creation and it was GIVEN BEFORE the fall of mankind, how can it be a SHADOW of things to come? It cannot because it is FINISHED from creation and a part of God's 10 commandments which God says are FOREVER...

God's WORD says His Law
(10 commandments) is FOREVER

The Law of God (10 commandments) which includes the 4th commandment is the work of God ( Exodus 32 :16 )
Whatsoever God does is FOREVER nothing can be added to it or taken away ( Ecclesiastes 3:14 ).
God's Law is perfect converting the soul ( Psalms 19:7 ).
It is the very standard of the Old and New Covenants ( Exodus 20:1:17, Hebrews 8:10-12 ).
God's Law was spoken by God himself to His people ( Exodus 20:1-22 ).
Jesus says Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away ( Matthew 25:35 ).
Gods Law is still in force today ( Psalms 111:7-8, Revelation 12:17, 14:12, 22:14, 1 John 3:5-8, 1 John 2:3-4 etc .).
The Law of God reveals sin to us so we can see ourselves as we truly are sinners in need of a Savior ( Romans 3:20; 1 John 3:4 ). It is the great standard of the judgement (Ecclesiastes 12:13-14, James 2:10-12, 1 John 3:4, Acts 17:31).
God's Law is our teacher revealing sin and the character of God and brings us to Christ at the foot of the cross that we might be saved by faith by Him who loves us and washed us in His own blood (Galatians 3:24; Revelation 1:5).
God's people keep all the commandments of God including the Sabbath even in the NEW EARTH (Rev 12:17; 14:12; 22:14; Isaiah 66:23) because God's LAW (10 commandments) including the 4th as God's Word says are FOREVER.

That is the difference between the ceremonial special Sabbaths that are shadows of things to come and God's 4th commandment which God's Word says is FOREVER.

There is not one scripture in ALL of God's WORD that says God's 4th commandment is now ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to worship God on Sunday in it's place. There is NO scripture that says Jesus is a Sabbath.

Sunday worship is a tradition and teaching of man that has lead many to break the commandments of God. Jesus says that if we follow the traditions of man that break the commandments of God we are not following God (Matthew 15:3-9)

Who should we follow the teachings and traditions of men or the Word of God? Who should we believe the Words of men or the Word of God?

May God bless you as you seek Him through His Word.

to him who knows to do good, and does not do so, to him it is sin. James did not say to him who does not keep the Sabbath, it is sin.
Hello gb9,

How do you know to what good is and what is SIN?

If you know the answer to this question you will see how what you have said above is not true at all. Here are the scriptures that answer the questions; Romans 3:20; Romans 7:7; 1 John 3:4.

Now how many commandments are there in God's LAW (ten commandments)? (Exodus 20:1-17)

What is the 4th commandment? (Exodus 20:8-11)

Now with those scriptures in mind go and read James 2:8-12; 1 John 2:3-4; Rev 12:17; 14:12; 22:14; 1 John 3:3-9

Or show me where it says in God's Word that God's 4th commandment is now ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to worship God on Sunday in it's place? You will find my friend that there is NO such scriptures.

Sunday worship is a tradition and teaching of man that has lead many to break the commandments of God. Jesus says that if we follow the traditions of man that break the commandments of God we are not following God (Matthew 15:3-9)

you think that belief in and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ does not qualify one to be saved. hence, you are not a Christian. hence, your Bible views are invalid. well, there are many reasons why they are invalid, that is the main one.

Php 2:13
13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
KJV

Believers obey God because His Spirit gives us both the desire and the ability to do so. We don't need to study rules that nobody can properly obey; because we are shown moment to moment what God would have us do and are enabled moment by moment to do it.
