To support what is written, "Let us not judge one another any more but judge this that no one cause a brother to stumble."

“He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.”
We are not walking in the Light by trying to fix others, neither could we, It would be dictatorship. Jesus did not try to fix the religious leaders that opposed Him and tried to make Him honor their Sabbath. God doesn't need our help, we need His help.
To say that if you don't worship like I do by the Law that condemns us, I judge you as a sinner: you don't Love God.
Read between the Lines: we are all sinners. There would be nothing wrong with your view of a day of rest, if you did not impose it on others; your imposing shows it has not given you rest. Your warning Christians not to follow you. We hear that: If you don't suffer the way I do in still trying to fulfil the law that condemns us, your not in our cult that thinks every one else is wrong. This will be my last post for 10 days. have to get ready to disappear.
Have you ever thought about the Passover as a day of Rest.

I know that Sabbath keeping is the 4th commandment. Can you cite any place where Jesus taught or commanded Sabbath keeping specifically? I believe you cannot; because I don't believe that He ever made an issue of it.
If we are to follow him, we ought not to make an issue of it either.
the oracles of God

This is he, that was in the church in the wilderness with the angel
which spake to him in [the mount Sina], and with our fathers:

who received the lively oracles [to give unto us] Acts 7:38

What advantage then hath the Jew? or what profit is there of circumcision?

Much every way:chiefly, because that unto them
were committed [the oracles of God]. Romans 3:2

For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need
that one teach you again which be the first principles of

[the oracles of God]; and are become such as have
need of milk, and not of strong meat. Hebrews 5:12

If any man speak, let him speak as [the oracles of God];
if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth:

that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ,
to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. 1 Peter 4:11

I have been going to a church meting on Friday evening in the last few months but don't consider that a special day of rest. Has mentioned that those who honor every day alike should be fully convinced just like you should be.
You should do because that is the day that God made a Holy day and commands all His followers to keep Holy. Some like to quote Romans 14 which is talking about the Levitical annual holy days that are shadows fulfilled but there is no mention of God's 4th commandment the 7th day Sabbath in the entire book of Romans.

.........................................

God's 4th commandment is one of the ten ( Exodus 20:8-11 ) and like any of the ten, if we knowingly break it when God ask s us not to we stand guilty before God of committing sin (James 2:8-12). If we do not seek him in repentance and forgiveness we are in danger of the Judgement (Hebrews 10:26-27)

There is not one scripture in ALL of God's WORD that says God's 4th commandment is now ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to worship God on Sunday in it's place.

Sunday worship is a tradition and teaching of man that has lead many to break the commandments of God. Jesus says that if we follow the traditions of man that break the commandments of God we are not following God (Matthew 15:3-9)

SIN will keep all those who practice it out of God's Kingdom.....

sin is knowing to do good and not doing so. that levels the playing field. also, you stated you do not think that believing in Jesus is enough for salvation. so, by that definition, you are not a Christian.
How do you know good and evil or SIN and RIGHTEOUSNESS without God's LAW? You cannot because God's LAW is the knowledge of Good and Evil; SIN and RIGHTEOUSNESS (Romans 3:20; 7:7)

As I already said, not to steal and not to kill is not exclusive only to the law given to Israel (Old Testament), but it is a general knowledge given almost to every culture under the sun. You do not need the Moses' Law to know that you should not kill.BTW, do not murder is a better translation. Killing is allowed in many occasions (war, police, self-defense...).
Hello trofimus

I think your missing the point, the example of killing (murder), adultery, stealing, lying etc are all examples of God's 10 commandments. You break any one of them you commit SIN because SIN is the breaking or transgression of God's Law (10 commandments). see James 2:11; Romans 7:7; Romans 3:20; 1 John 3:4

IF you continue in SIN without REPENTANCE and CONFESSION and FAITH in God's WORD you will NOT enter into God's Kingdom (Hebrews 6:4-8; 10:26-27).

I think you may be thinking of a different scripture. Romans 14 is talking about eating practices.

I think you are missing the point.

The convo was "if we are not to follow Old Testament, then we can kill and steal???"

And my response was "Killing or stealing are part of many other laws, so you do not need the OT Law for knowing that."

In my mind, the question has never been whether believers should lead moral lives. Of course we should!

The question is: Do we get there by imperfectly following Laws? or do we get there by following the prompting of the Holy Spirit?

By following the prompting of the Holy Spirit; laws will undoubtedly be obeyed, but we need not be mindful of them.

By Law Keeping, the Law Keeper gets approval for his own efforts. By following the prompting of the Holy Spirit, God gets all the credit and praise for our obedience.

God does not want us independently doing anything for Him! God wants us in total dependence allowing Him to work in and through us. True obedience results from God's effort not our own.

Good post.

Morality will never make a person spiritual. But morality is one natural thing that comes from being Spiritual.

The underlined and bolded in your post is so very true. If we are honest with ourselves, and our minds are on laws or sin. We probably are not in the Spirit and walking in the Spirit.

Good question BillG,

Once we come to Jesus through FAITH he frees us from SIN to LOVE. It is only the beginning however of our walk in Him to be like him who loves us. Like the great example you gave in your testimony of hate that I enjoyed you sharing earlier.
Morning LGF,

Thanks for responding to my post.

I get what you are saying.
I would just like to say though if you don't mind.
I would say it's not just a case of freeing us from sin to love.
Healing is also needed in order to increase our capacity to love.

In order to release me from the hate I had, God had to heal the hurt and pain for the situation's that caused me to hate.
As this happened my capacity to love also increased.

I would also say that the damaged emotions that I had as a result of not knowing my real father, being thrown out by my mother and being sexually abused by my foster dad gave me a distorted view of God as my father.

So as God healed those emotions my view of him started to change which led to me to forgive which was evidence of my increased capacity to love.

I think part of the issue also is that if we do not truly know that he truly loves us it does affect our walk with him and others.

The problem also is that we can allow emotions to dictate faith when the reality is that faith should dictate our emotions.
When we do that emotions fall into line.
But I do say at times emotional healing is needed.

Have a good day.

Bill

That is significant don't you think? Nor in any of Paul's epistles except when he tells us not to let men judge us about new moon and sabbaths,

In God's covenant with ISRAEL.

where does James 2.8-12 speak of the ten commandments? He doesn't mention the 4th commandment either.

And you STILL haven't corrected the s in your cut and paste. Very slack.

If we do not seek him in repentance and forgiveness we are in danger of the Judgement (Hebrews 10:26-27)

Awesome, yes any day.
Though the internet is an amazing intrument to bring us closer to one another in fellowship. I still think an illustration would help...As for the Sabbath and the cruelty of those who keep back the Word from bringing Oil upon the children The will have their reward.

A Good sabbath

If anyone were to want to explore the terrain, i suggest instruction after the pattern.

Our fathers had the tabernacle of the testimony with them in the wilderness. It was constructed exactly as God had directed Moses, according to the pattern he had seen.
Acts 7Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)
7 The cohen hagadol asked, “Are these accusations true?” 2 and Shimon (Stephen said:

Hear o Israel

“Brothers and fathers, listen to me! The God of glory appeared to Avraham avinu in Mesopotamia before he lived in Haran 3 and said to him, ‘Leave your land and your family, and go into the land that I will show you.’[a]4 So he left the land of the Kasdim and lived in Haran. After his father died, God made him move to this land where you are living now. 5 He gave him no inheritance in it, not even space for one foot;[b] yet he promised to give it to him as a possession and to his descendants after him,[c] even though at the time he was childless. 6 What God said to him was, ‘Your descendants will be aliens in a foreign land, where they will be in slavery and oppressed for four hundred years. 7 But I will judge the nation that enslaves them,’ God said, ‘and afterwards they will leave and worship me in this place.’[d]8 And he gave him b’rit-milah. So he became the father of Yitz’chak and did his b’rit-milah on the eighth day, and Yitz’chak became the father of Ya‘akov, and Ya‘akov became the father of the Twelve Patriarchs.

9 “Now the Patriarchs grew jealous of Yosef and sold him into slavery in Egypt. But Adonai was with him;[e]10 he rescued him from all his troubles and gave him favor and wisdom before Pharaoh, king of Egypt, who appointed him chief administrator over Egypt and over all his household.[f]11 Now there came a famine that caused much suffering throughout Egypt and Kena‘an[g]12 But when Ya‘akov heard that there was grain in Egypt, he sent our fathers there the first time. 13 The second time, Yosef revealed his identity to his brothers,[h] and Yosef’s family became known to Pharaoh. 14 Yosef then sent for his father Ya‘akov and all his relatives, seventy-five people. 15 And Ya‘akov went down to Egypt; there he died, as did our other ancestors. 16 Their bodies were removed to Sh’khem and buried in the tomb Avraham had bought from the family of Hamor in Sh’khem for a certain sum of money.
17 “As the time drew near for the fulfillment of the promise God had made to Avraham, the number of our people in Egypt increased greatly, 18 until there arose another king over Egypt who had no knowledge of Yosef.[i]19 With cruel cunning this man forced our fathers to put their newborn babies outside their homes, so that they would not survive............

They serve at a copy and shadow of the heavenly sanctuary. That is why Moses was warned when he was about to build the tabernacle, "See to it that you make everything according to the pattern shown you on the mountain."

Hi 7777Pinicled,

Good morning my time my friend. Sorry for such a slow reply. Just waking up now. I had a read of your post but still not sure of your point. Would you like to expand on the above a little. Please forgive me sometimes I am slow. There are indeed many Shadow laws from the Mosaic laws for remission of sin that pointed to Jesus and the Heavenly.

This is what the OP is trying to show by linking the OT scripture with the NT. God's Law however is Forever and not linked to the Shadows only transferred from stone to the heart to free man from SIN to LOVE and to FOLLOW him who LOVES all...

May God bless you my friend as you continue in His Word..

"The above scripture is used by the “many” to distance themselves from Gods weekly Sabbath day of the 4th commandment."

The particular word you used in the beginning of your statement is an execelent subject.
I was wondering if you were putting together a ministry to do missionary work?

As for the Ark and the Distance,...

Hi 7777pinacled,

God's Word is wonderful indeed. It is a gift from Heaven and the Gospel to for all that have ears to hear and follow. Freely we receive and freely we are to give and share to others. Your ministry is where ever God puts you and whoever you talk to God's seeds (Word) can be sown in the heart of another. Some on stony ground some on good soil. Someone else may come along and do the watering when the seed is sown. Only God does the growing and so we walk with him who LOVES all.

May God bless you as you seek him through His Words....

Absolutely my friend and well said. God is not willing that any should perish but that all should repent from their sins and be saved. God has given all the right to choose for themselves what they will do and does not force anyone to come when the call is made. Sadly it is written many are called but few are chosen because men loved darkness rather then light because their deeds were evil..... Only those that BELIEVE the Word of God and FOLLOW him who calls them are walking in the narrow way that many cannot find because they have lost or broken their mirror.
