I know he's real because the things I pray for I usually get and during all my anxiety he gives me piece. And when I warch testimonies I cry like a baby lol The only other time I cry is when A relative dies. Why do know God is real?

I know God is real for the same reason I know my house is real. I live here.

(And, frankly, I have never texted in my life, need instructions to turn that cellphone I have on, because I use it so in-often I forget how, so I'm impressed anyone can make words with a phone -- spelled correctly or not. lol)

I know he's real because when I was set in a dark state of mind He gave me the ability to see life in a new way. He's healed many broken areas. I've not felt utterly alone since meeting Him. The calm that comes when things look bad.

Just to name a few

In East Tennessee I lived about 3 miles away from my workplace and rode a bicycle, and for four years the rain organized itself around my work schedule. That's good enough for me.

I didn't even go to a church at the time. All I knew was that when I was a kid in Sunday school they told me God cared about me and I could ask him for what I needed. So I did.

This is a great question, and one I have sought to find the most convincing answer that would help lead a person to Jesus. But for as many words I could think of, and as many verses I could use as a persuasive argument, nothing matches the person of Jesus becoming real to a person by the power of the Holy Spirit. I have been reading stories of how fast Christianity is growing in countries where outside religion is prohibited, and in some areas, punishable by death. And the staggering thing about these believers is how real Jesus is to them - they simply cannot waver from that reality.

When we learn what the Bible says, which is the final authority on what God says about Himself, we read that the knowledge of God has been made manifest through creation and the evidence of God is all around us, but the experience of God differs from person to person. We see that in the New Testament when Jesus became real to his followers, and to those who witnessed his signs and wonders. The Holy Spirit imparts truth to individuals at a personal level, making His presence so real it cannot be argued. God encounters us right where we are.

I don't know that I have one short quick answer to your question, but it would be so fascinating and intriguing to ask every believer that has ever lived to share their moment of revelation, when their lives and their hearts changed forever because of the mercy and grace poured out to them through Jesus. The similarities would be the same in all of them - "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life" - John 3:16

Do you have your own story of how became real to you?

Wow - thank you for writing back and sharing your story with me. I think that is one really cool thing about knowing the Lord - everyone has their own personal way of processing truths - through watching things, reading things, listening to things, talking about things, praying about things, waiting for things, and letting God reveal Himself in ways that we can grasp who He is. It's just so different for everyone.

I am thankful to hear that you sense God is not keeping Himself distant from you because of your illness. God has no limits which is a good thing for all of us. He is always busy at work in our lives, and if we are paying close attention, we won't miss the little ways and the big ways He is closely paying attention to us. Blessings on you friend!!!

I once looked up at the stars, on the night my parents were about to separate. I held my hand up and asked audibly, if there's a God out there, surely He would see what's going on with my family and I asked for help.

The next day, without any intervention from the 15 year old me, my mother decided to turn back. She was on her way to the terminal. And my father decided that we all go visit a church.

We went to a non-denominational Christian church and we were all so broken that everyone at church probably saw what was inside our hearts. My sister was 14 and my brother was 2. We were all bawling our eyes out for the same reason, 'cept my baby bro. He probably cried because he was sleepy.

Anyway, that was the day our journey to knowing Jesus started.

Of course, things weren't so fine and dandy after that. I once shared my own personal testimony of living the double life and how Jesus saved me from my own foolishnesses.

So, I know He's real. He answered when I called.

Classic testimony of How the Holy Spirit works upon a persons conscience as they are coming into an eternal relationship with God.. Your post made me smile a few time.. :) I remember the same process,, actually it still happens from time to time when i am starting to head off the rails as all faulty human beings like us do from time to time..

God confirmed His existence to me without any doubts by a series of dreams i had.. Some where Symbolic with heavy meaning .. Some where prophetic showing 2 second snap shots of my personal future that i would live out months after having dreamed the dream..

So in my case i have absolutely no need for faith ( trust ) that God exists... I know without a doubt that God exists.. No need for faith when you know something without a doubt.. I am thankful beyond words that God gifted me those dreams..

because He has 'delivered' me, us, from the ways of the carnal world:
we live a New Life, one that we only care about for what He desires for us to do,
in every way, every day, according to His Will/Word...
