What is reality?
What does it take to deal with reality?
Reality consists of the things that we observe every day; the things that we can see, touch, hear, smell, taste and spend money on seem to be all that there is.
Is there more to life than those things that are obvious and tangible?
Are there spiritual forces that are at work in the "here and now" that greatly influence our thoughts, our emotions, our words, and our actions; in spite of our failure to notice their presence?
Are there two sets of realities; one set that is readily apparent and one set that is not observable by conventional means?
Ephesians 6:12-13; "For we do not wrestle with flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand."
According to the Bible, there are invisible forces that are out to deceive us and to ultimately destroy us. We have an adversary, but our friend is the Lord if we will seek His assistance.
According to the Bible, the spiritual realm is a part of our present daily reality that has a huge influence on events that occur in the natural realm. Whether we know it or not.
Is this really the way it is?
In this world there are people who seem to do well by dealing exclusively with those things that are obvious and tangible; totally "practical" people with no spirituality whatsoever. As far as our limited time on earth is concerned, they seem to be "fine".
By contrast, there are people who seem to spend their lives on a cloud of mysticism, "too spiritual to be any earthly good." These people seem to somehow "get by" as well, in some cases.
I know that there are people who find balance in life. I know that there are people who are very practical and at the same time very spiritual.
There are people who deal with reality on more than one level. I want to be that kind of a person.
