Green: It matters with regard to the seventh day, which unfortunately takes us away from Psalm 95 and what it encourages us to do.

Personally I believe such diversions are a tool of the devil in order to take away from encouraging one another in the faith which is what we should be doing. This is why I would love to see an end to this and similar unhelpful topics.
Hello Friend,

The only diversion that the devil works with is encouraging people to SIN because SIN will keep all who practice it out of God's Kingdom.

Any topic that is helping others to BELIEVE and FOLLOW God's Word is a helpful topic.

Unhealthful topics are those that lead away from God's Word and lead others to follow the traditions of men that brake the commandments of God.

....................

God's 4th commandment is one of the ten (Exodus 20:8-11) If we knowingly break it when God asks us not to we stand guilty before God of committing sin (James 2:8-12). If we do not seek him in repentance and forgiveness we are in danger of the Judgement (Hebrews 10:26-27)

There is not one scripture in ALL of God's WORD that says God's 4th commandment is now ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to worship God on Sunday in it's place.

Sunday worship is a tradition and teaching of man that has lead many to break the commandments of God. Jesus says that if we follow the traditions of man that break the commandments of God we are not following God (Matthew 15:3-9)

In times of ignorance God winks at but now calls all men every where to REPENT for the KINGDOM of HEAVEN is at HAND (Acts 17:30-31)

Hope this helps..

How is YAHWEH the god of the Jews, a national god, the same as Buddah and Allah are national gods, the creator of the universe? The creation account does not mention Yahovah.

RED: they are the ones who imposed the Sabbath along with the rest of the rituals, and you want me to follow them. Come on!
Hello PS,

It is God that has asked his peopel to BELIEVE and FOLLOW HIS WORD. Those who BELIEVE and FOLLOW him are his people. Those that do not BELIEVE and FOLLOW God's WORD are UNBELIEVERS and UNBELIEVERS have no part in the KINGDOM of HEAVEN because they are STILL in their SINS and have rejected the GIFT of God's dear son.

You are mistaken if you BELIEVE you can knowlingly continue brake God's commandments and enter into Gods' Kingdom. Those who are still in their SINS have neither seen him or KNOW him (1 John 3:3-9) If you are still in your SINS you do not know him who LOVES you. As it is written in the scriptures.......

1 John 2
3,
And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
4, He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

and is why Jesus says....

John 14
15,
If you LOVE me KEEP my COMMANDMENTS

Do you love Jesus?

4th Commandment................

Exodus 20
8,
Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
9,
Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
10, But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:<WHY?>
11, For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

These are God's Words and not mans. You can choose to BELIEVE God or not the decision is yours alone. No one can judge you except the Word of God who will judge all in the last days (John 12:47-48)

....................

LORD'S DAY

LORD'S DAY

(he kuriake hemera ): Formerly it was supposed that the adjective kuriakos (translated "the Lord's") was a purely Christian word, but recent discoveries have proved that it was in fairly common use in the Roman Empire before Christian influence had been felt.

1. Linguistic: In secular use it signified "imperial," "belonging to the lord" - the emperor-and so its adoption by Christianity in the sense "belonging to the Lord" - to Christ-was perfectly easy. Indeed, there is reason to suppose that in the days of Domitian, when the issue had been sharply defined as "Who is Lord? Caesar or Christ?" the use of the adjective by the church was a part of the protest against Caesar-worship (see LORD ). And it is even possible that the full phrase, "the Lord's day," was coined as a contrast to the phrase, "the Augustean day" he sebaste hemera ), a term that seems to have been used in some parts of the Empire to denote days especially dedicated in honor of Caesar-worship.

2. Post-Apostolic: "Lord's day" in the New Testament occurs only in Rv 1:10, but in the post-apostolic literature we have the following references: Ignatius, Ad Mag., ix .1, "No longer keeping the Sabbath but living according to the Lord's day, on which also our Light arose"; Ev. Pet., Per 35 , "The Lord's day began to dawn" (compare Mt 28:1); verse 50 , "early on the Lord's day" (compare Lk 24:1); Barn 15 :9, "We keep the eighth day with gladness," on which Jesus arose from the dead." I.e. Sunday, as the day of Christ's resurrection, was kept as a Christian feast and called "the Lord's day," a title fixed so definitely as to be introduced by the author of Ev. Pet. into phrases from the canonical Gospels. Its appropriateness in Rv 1:10 is obvious, as John received his vision of the exalted Lord when all Christians had their minds directed toward His entrance into glory through the resurrection.

3. In the New Testament: This "first day of the week" appears again in Ac 20:7 as the day on which the worship of the "breaking of bread" took place, and the impression given by the context is that Paul and his companions prolonged their visit to Troas so as to join in the service. Again, 1 Co 16:2 contains the command, "Upon the first day of the week let each one of you lay by him in store," where the force of the form of the imperative used (the present for repeated action) would be better represented in English by "lay by on the successive Sundays." Worship is here not explicitly mentioned (the Greek of "by him" is the usual phrase for "at home"), but that the appropriateness of the day for Christian acts involves an appropriateness for Christian worship is not to be doubted. Indeed, since the seven-day week was unknown to Greek thought, some regular observance of a hebdomadal cycle must have been settled at Corinth before Paul could write his command. Finally, the phrase, "first day in the week" is found elsewhere in the New Testament only in Mt 28:1; Mk 16:2; Lk 24:1; Jn 20:1,19. The word in all passages for "first" is poor Greek (
mia
, "one," for
prote
, a Hebraism), and the coincidence of the form of the phrase in Ac 20:7 and 1 Co 16:2 with the form used by all four evangelists for the Resurrection Day 'is certainly not accidental; it was the fixed Christian base, just as "Lord's day" was to the writer of Ev. Pet.

4. Origin: The hebdomadal observance of Sunday points back of Corinth to Jewish-Christian soil, but it is impossible to say when the custom first began. Not, apparently, in the earliest days, for Ac 2:46 represents the special worship as daily. But this could not have continued very long, for waning of the first enthusiasm, necessity of pursuing ordinary avocations, and increasing numbers of converts must soon have made general daily gatherings impracticable. A choice of a special day must have become necessary, and this day would, of course, have been Sunday. Doubtless, however, certain individuals and communities continued the daily gatherings to a much later date, and the appearance of Sunday as the one distinctive day for worship was almost certainly gradual.

5. Sunday and the Sabbath: Sunday, however, was sharply distinguished from the Sabbath. One was the day on which worship was offered in a specifically Christian form, the other was a day of ritual rest to be observed by all who were subject? the Law of Moses through circumcision (Gal 5:3; compare Ac 21:20). Uncircumcised Gentiles, however, were free from any obligation of Sabbath observance, and it is quite certain that in apostolic times no renewal of any Sabbath rules or transfer of them to Sunday was made for gentile converts. No observance of a particular "day of rest" is contained among the "necessary things" of Ac 15:28-29, nor is any such precept found among all the varied moral directions given in the whole epistolary literature. Quite on the contrary, the observance of a given day as a matter of Divine obligation is denounced by Paul as a forsaking of Christ (Gal 4:10), and Sabbath-keeping is condemned explicitly in Col 2:16. As a matter of individual devotion, to be sure, a man might do as he pleased (Ro 14:5-6), but no general rule as necessary for salvation could be compatible with the liberty wherewith Christ has made us free. Evidently, then, the fact that the Christian worship was held on Sunday did not sanctify Sunday any more than (say) a regular Wednesday service among us sanctifies Wednesday, noting especially that the apostolic service was held in the evening. For it was felt that Christian enthusiasm would raise every day to the highest religious plane, the decay of that enthusiasm through the long delay of the Parousia not being contemplated.

Hello MarcR,

Thanks very much for sharing but this did NOT answer my question. I know the man made interpretations of "the LORD'S DAY" is in reference to Sunday but it is not biblical.. I asked where does it say in the scriptures that Sunday is the "LORD'S DAY"?

It seems this is a difficult question for many to answer. The truth of the matter is that there is NO scripture in ALL of God's Word that says that Sunday is the "LORD'S DAY"

So if Sunday is not the "LORD'S DAY" do the SCRIPTURES say what day is the "LORD'S DAY" ?

Let's have a look............

Matthew 12
8
, For the SON OF MAN IS LORD EVEN OF THE SABBATH DAY.

Well yes God's Word says that the Sabbath day is the "LORD'S DAY"

John was in the SPIRIT on the "LORD'S DAY" which God's Word says is the Sabbath day.

Only God's Word is true and we should BELIEVE and FOLLOW it. Those who do not BELIEVE and FOLLOW God's Word are UNBELIEVERS and UNBELIEVERS are NOT a par of the KINGDOM of HEAVEN.

....................

how about you answer-

do you believe in the Resurrection?

if so, do you think that it took place on sunday?

care to denounce ellen white as a false teacher?

do you consider Paul's letters as authoritative Scripture?

any or all these answers will do.

that is because Paul or anyone else in the N.T. did not say it. the sda/ Hebrew roots cults twist and turn and blend and stretch to make it appear that it does, but straight forward Bible reading does not say it.
and, many of them say that Paul contradicts Christ, and do not take his letters as authoritative Scripture.
Hello gb9,

Well there is simply no truth in that post whatsoever. You may need to read your bible it seems like you have missed a lot of scriptures.

Let's see what God's Word says.........

WHAT DID JESUS AND THE APOSTLES TEACH ABOUT GOD’S LAW
(the scriptures below are no where near exhaustive)

Jesus taught the 10 commandments…..

1. Jesus kept God’s Law (10 commandments) and said the Law and the prophets would not pass away (Matt 5:17-18)
2. Jesus taught others to follow the 10 commandments (Mark 10:17-21)
3. Jesus taught that Love is the fulfilling (doing) of God’s Law (10 commandments Matt 22:36-40)
4. If we break God’s Law by following man-made traditions we are not following God (Matt 15:3-9)
5. Jesus says if we commit sin we are a servant of sin and he has come to free us from sin (John 8:32-36)
6. Jesus taught if you love God you will keep God’s Law and abide in His Love (John 14:15; 15:10
7. If anyone is breaking any of God’s commandments and teaching others to do so will be called least in the kingdom of heaven <least = lost> (Matt 5:19)
8. No one can obey God’s Law producing the fruit of obedience of ourselves and unless we abide in Jesus we can do nothing (John 15:4-10)

Paul affirms the Ten Commandments……

1. Paul teaches God's people keep the Sabbath Hebrews 4.
2. Paul tells gentiles that "what matters is KEEPING the Commandments of GOD" 1 Cor 7:19
3. Paul tells gentiles "it is not the HEARERS of the Law that are just before God but the DOERS of the Law will be justified... on the day when according to my GOSPEL God will judge all mankind" Rom 2:13-16
4. Paul asks that gentiles consider the doctrine of LAW "Do we then make void the LAW of God by our faith? God forbid! In fact we establish the Law of God" Rom 3:31
5. Paul tells ALL Christians that it is only the lost who will "not subject themselves to the Law of God neither indeed CAN they" Rom 8:6-8
6 Paul reaches all Christians under the NEW Covenant that God's LAW as known in Jer 31:31-33 is "written on the heart and mind" Heb 8:7-11
7. Paul tells all Christians that the OT text is to be used for Doctrine 2Tim 3:16
AND He never claims that "if I did not write it -- it is not scripture for us today" -- as one or two have imagined for us.
8. Paul tells all Christians that the 5th commandment is the "FIRST commandment with a promise" Eph 6:1-2 and is binding on all Christians.
9. God's Law (10 commandments) are holy, just and good (Rom 7:12)
10. God's Law gives us a knowledge of what sin is (Rom 3:20; 7:7)
11. The penalty of breaking God's Law without Jesus is death (Rom 6:23)
12. If we break God's Law we dishonor God (Rom 2:23)
13. If we sin we are "under the Law" and guilty before God (Rom 3:19)
14. We are saved by faith but our faith establishes the Law in us (Rom 3:31)
15. If we are saved by grace we should not break God's Law (Rom 6:1-7)
16. We should not break God's Law if we are under grace (Rom 6:15)
17. We are to serve the Law of God through the mind because that is where sin starts (Rom 6:17; 7:25; 8:4; 12:2)
18. It is God's Law that brings us to Jesus (Gal 3:24)
19. God's salvation frees us from sin so we can be obedient to God's Law and live a life of holiness (Rom 6:22)
20. We will be judged by God's Law and only those that are obedient will be justified because of their faith (Rom 2:4-13)
21. God's Law can only be obeyed through love and a changed heart which comes by faith in God's Word (Rom 2:21-29; 13:9-10; Heb 8:9-10)
22. If we break God's Law and are in unrepentant sin we will be lost and will received God's judgements (Heb 10:26-27)

John affirms the 10 commandments……

1. John says it is only by keeping God’s 10 commandments that we know that we know God (1 John 2:3)
2. If someone says that they know God and do not keep God’s 10 commandments they are lying and not telling the truth (1 John 2:4)
3. We should purify ourselves as Jesus is pure (1 John 3:3)
4. Sin is the breaking of God’s 10 commandments (1 John 3:4)
5. Whoever is abiding in Christ does not commit sin (1 John 3:6; John 15:4-10)
6. If you are in unrepentant sin you have not seen Jesus or know him (1 John 3:6)
7. John warns us that only those that are obedience to God’s Law are his true followers (1 John 3:7)
8. If someone is committing unrepentant sin they are following the devil and not God (1 John 3:7)
9. If you are born of God and abiding in him you will not commit sin (1 John 3:9; 1 John 3:6; John 15:4-10
10. It is the keeping of God’s commandments that is the difference between those that are following God and those that are not following God (1 John 3:10; 1 John 5:3)
11. It is only by Love through faith that we can keep God’s commandments (1 John 5:3-4)
12. God’s true believers in the end days will keep all of God’s commandments through faith in Jesus (Rev 14:12; 22:14)

James also affirms the 10 commandments…….

1. James says God’s Law (10 commandments) are a Royal Law (James 2:8)
2. If we break one of God’s commandments we a guilty before God as sinners breaking all of God’s Law and gave some examples of breaking God’s Law (James 2:9-11)
3. James says God’s Law is a law of liberty and freedom (James 2:12)
4. The 10 commandments (God’s Law) are the standard in the judgment (James 2:12)
5. If our faith does not have the fruit of obedience to God’s Law it is dead and not true faith (James 2:16-26)

Peter affirms the 10 commandments……..

1. Sanctification is to obedience to God’s Law (1 Pet 1:2)
2. We can only be changed from sin to obedience to God’s Law by the power of God and it will be revealed in the last days (1 Pet 1:5)
3. We should give up our sins to be holy because Jesus is holy (1 Pet 1:13-16)
4. Jesus is your example who did no sin (1 Pet 2:21-22)
5. Cease from sin and do not live in the flesh (1 Pet 4:1-3)
6. Judgement will begin at the house of God and sinners (those breaking God’s 10 commandments) will not be saved.
7. God has given us his precious promises and as we believe them God will grant us his divine power to live a life of Godliness (obedience to God’s Law; 2 Pet 1:2-4)
8. The Un-Godly (disobedient to God’s Law) will be like Sodom and Gomorrah (2 Pet 2:6)
9. If any turn away from God’s Law and are in unrepentant sin breaking any of God’10 commandments they will be lost (2 Pet 2:20-22)
10 God is not willing that any should perish but that everyone should come to repentance and turn away from sin to follow God’s 10 commandments because those that do not will receive the judgements of God (2 Pet 3:5-14) What did Jesus and the Apostles teach about the Sabbath in the New Testament?

1. It is lawful to do good on the Sabbath (Matt 12:1-8; 10-12; 24:20; Mark 3:1-5; Luke 6:1-10; 13:14-16; 14:1-5; John 7:22-23; 9:14; Mark 1:21; Mark 6:2; Luke 4:16; 31; Luke 14:1; 23:56)
2. Jesus made the Sabbath for all mankind (Hebrews 1:2; John 1:1-3; 14; Ephesians 3:9; Colossians 1:16-17; Mark 2:27)
3. Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath (Mark 2:28)
4. If you do not believe and follow God you cannot enter His Sabbath rest (Hebrews 4)
5. It is one of God’s 10 commandments we break it we are guilty or breaking all (James 2:8-12)
6. Breaking it is sin (1 John 3:4)
7. God’s true followers keep it Holy as God commanded (Rev 14:12; Rev 22:14; Eze 20:20)
8. Jesus is our example and he kept the Sabbath (Matt 12:1-8; 10-12; 24:20; Mark 3:1-5; Luke 6:1-10; 13:14-16; 14:1-5; John 7:22-23; 9:14; Mark 1:21; Mark 6:2; Luke 4:16; 31; Luke 14:1; 23:56; John 2:6; Matt 16:24; 1 Cor 11:1; Eph 5:1-21; Pet 2:20-22)
9. The Apostle kept the Sabbath (Acts 13:14; 13:27; 13:44; 15:21; 16:13; 17:2; 18:4; Rev 1:10)

God’s Law in the NC is written on our hearts it is through love and it is love the fulfils God’s Law in us as we walk not after the flesh but after the spirit and is why Jesus says f you love me keep my commandments. (John 14:15; John 15:10). If we knowingly break one of God’s commandments we commit sin (1 John 3:4). This includes the 7th Day Sabbath which Jesus made for us and commands us to keep as a holy day.

............

Here we have Paul alone only in the book of Romans on God's LAW..........

ROMANS

Chapter 1
v5 By whom we have received GRACE AND APOSTLESHIP, for OBEDIENCE TO THE FAITH among all nations, for his name:
v16, For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the POWER OF GOD UNTO SALVATION to every one that BELIEVES; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
v17, For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

Chapter 2

v4, Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and long suffering; not knowing that the GOODNESS OF GOD LEAD YOU TO REPENTANCE?
v5, But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasure up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;
v6, WHO WILL RENDER EVERY MAN ACCORDING TO HIS DEEDS:
v7, To them who by patient continuance in WELL DOING seek for glory and honor and immortality, eternal life:
v8, But unto them that are contentious, and DO NOT OBEY THE TRUTH, but OBEY UNRIGHTEOUSNESS ,<sin>, indignation and wrath,
v9, Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that does evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;
v10, But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that WORKS GOOD, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile:
v11, For there is no respect of persons with God.
v12, FOR AS MANY AS HAVE SINNED WITHOUT THE LAW SHALL PERISH WITHOUT THE LAW: and AS MANY AS HAVE SINNED IN THE LAW SHALL BE JUDGED BY THE LAW;
v13, For NOT THE HEARERS OF THE LAW ARE JUST BEFORE GOD BUT THE DOERS OF THE LAW SHALL BE JUSTIFIED.

Chapter 3
v3, For what if some did not believe? shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect?
v4, God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou might be justified in thy sayings, and might overcome when thou art judged.
v27, Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.
v28, Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.
v29, Is he the God of the Jews only? is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also:
v30, Seeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith.
v31, DO WE THEN MAKE VOID THE LAW THROUGH FAITH? GOD FORBID: YEA WE ESTABLISH THE LAW.

Chapter 6
v1, What shall we say then? SHALL WE CONTINUE IN SIN, that grace may abound?
v2, God forbid. HOW SHALL WE THAT ARE DEAD TO SIN LIVE THERE ANY LONGER?
v6, Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that HENCEFORTH WE SHOULD NOT SERVE SIN.
v7, For HE THAT IS DEAD IS FREED FROM SIN.
v10, For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he lives, HE LIVES UNTO GOD.
v11, Likewise RECKON YOU YOURSELVES INDEED DEAD TO SIN, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
v12, LET NOT SIN THEREFORE REIGN IN YOUR MORTAL BODY, THAT YOU SHOULD OBEY IT IN THE LUSTS THEREOF
v13, NEITHER YIELD YOU YOUR MEMBERS AS INSTRUMENTS OF UNRIGHTEOUSNESS UNTO SIN: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of RIGHTEOUSNESS UNTO GOD.
v14, FOR SIN SHALL NOT HAVE DOMINION OVER YOU: FOR YOU ARE NOT UNDER LAW, BUT UNDER GRACE.
v15, What then? SHALL WE SIN BECAUSE WE ARE NOT UNDER LAW, BUT UNDER GRACE? GOD FORBID.
v16, Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to OBEY, his servants ye are to whom ye OBEY; whether of SIN unto death, or of OBEDIENCE UNTO RIGHTEOUSNESS?
v17, But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
v18, BEING MADE FREE FROM SIN, YOU BECAME THE SERVANTS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS.
v19, I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now YIELD YOURSELVES SERVANTS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS UNTO HOLINESS.
v20, For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.
v21, What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for THE END OF THOSE THINGS <sin> IS DEATH.
v22, BUT NOW BEING MADE FREE FROM SIN, and become servants to God, ye have your FRUIT UNTO HOLINESS, and the end everlasting life.
v23, For THE WAGES OF SIN IS DEATH; BUT THE GIFT OF GOD IS EVERLASTING LIFE THROUGH JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD.

Chapter 7
v7, What shall we say then? IS THE LAW SIN? God forbid. Nay, I HAD NOT KNOWN SIN BUT BY THE LAW: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.
v8, But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law sin was dead.
v9, For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died.
v10, And the commandment, which was ordained to life, I found to be unto death.
v11, For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me.
v12, WHEREFORE THE LAW IS HOLY AND THE COMMANDMENT HOLY AND JUST AND GOOD.
v13, Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful.
v14, For we know that THE LAW IS SPIRITUAL: but I am carnal, sold under sin.

Chapter 8
v1, There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, WHO WALK NOT AFTER THE FLESH BUT AFTER THE SPIRIT.
v2, For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
v3, For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
v4, That THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF THE LAW MIGHT BE FULFILLED IN US, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
v5, For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
v6, For TO BE CARNALLY MINDED IS DEATH; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
v7, Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
v8, So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
v9, But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
v10, ¶ And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
v11, But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwells in you.

Yep alot of scriptures indeed. It is hard to kick against the pricks......

....................

Iti s SIN that will keep all who practice it out of God's Kingdom. If any knowinly practice man made traditions that lead to breaking of God's commandments then it is simple. SIN is transgression of God'sL AW. IF there is NO REPENTANCE and SEEKING God for forgiveness then the tree is cast down and thrown into the fire. As it was in the days of Noah and Soddom so shall it be at the coming of the son of man...

God'sWord is very clear that the Judgements of God are only received by breaking God's Law (any of God's 10 commandments, Isaiah 26:21,13:11, Psalms 37:38, Rom 2:5-6, 12, Prov 11:21, Heb 9:27, Jer 21:14,Isaiah 59:18, Matt 3:10, 12, 1Cor 6:9-10, 2Pet 3:7 and 1Thess 5:3).Even if we break one of God's 10 commandments we are guilty before God of breaking all of his Law (James 2:10-11).

God's Word also tells us that the "Beast" and his "Mark"is received as the Roman Catholic Church unites with the USA and the nations of the world to enforce a national Sunday law. All who believe and obey, this law will receive the "Mark of the Beast"and the Judgements of God (Rev 13 and 14) because they turn from God by disregarding his 7th Day Sabbath to follow man made traditions (Ex20:8-11, Mark 7:7). https://www.beastsmark.com/sealofgod website advertised by LGF

Hello Phil, This post was already addressed earlier and shown for what it is DISHONEST, did you forget it? Here is a re-post as you seem to be lost for words.

Hello Phil my friend how are you today?

I think you are getting yourself a bit mixed up. You give a post title called.....

"The Gospel of works According toLovegodforever (Basically all Christians spanning 2000 years are condemned according to loveforgod)"
Then you post a topic from the website on SIN and how SIN will keep all who practice it out of God's Kingdom and add sections highlighted into the post that I have not written.

[worshipping on a Sunday - see above]
Now taking bits and pieces out of a part of a post and putting your own title to it and adding sections into a post that was not written into the post to give it a different meaning to what it is saying is a little dishonest don't you think?

The post is true however and is consistent to what is being shared here at CC. KNOWN SIN will keep all who practice it out of God's Kingdom.
and again..........

Hello Phil36,

It is not my work my friend it is God that says SIN will keep all who knowingly practice it out of God's Kingdom not me. It does not say that Christians of all time are lost at all. Only you say this. The scriptures are provided in the last post you sent so do not need to repeat them here.... or maybe I should? I am happy to share them if you do not know them?

What I also find amusing is that you take a small section out of larger post put your own heading and insertions into a post to make it say something that it is not. This is sad for you my friend.

Below is is also a section under the what you posted. I am just curious why you did not also include it?

Beastsmark.com

What do we need to do?

All of us have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God (Romans 3:23) and the wages of sin is Death but God has made a way of escape for us (Romans 6:23). For God so loved the world that he gave us his only boggott0n son, that whosoever should believe on him, including his death on the cross for our sins will not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16). This is a free gift from God to you to help you to be ready for His soon coming (Romans 5:15-18). We need to repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand (Matthew 4:17). God's judgements are coming! God's has promised us His seal and it is a free gift to all who will take it.

In times of ignorance God winks at but now calls all men everywhere to repent (Act 17:30-31). To receive the seal of God we must 1. Repent and be baptized (turn away from all sin you know about) by seeking God everyday, (Rev 3:19, Matt 3:2, Matt 4:17, Mark 1:15, Luke 13:3-5, Acts 2:38), 2. Confess your sins to God in private to him and he will forgive your sins and will cleanse you from all wrong doing and save you from the coming judgements as you believe His Word (1John 1:9) 3. Seek God with all of your heart through His Word (Matt 6:33, Isa 55:6-7, Jer 29:13 ) 4. Believe His Word. God's Word is His power of creation. God wants to create us in His own image and save us from our sins as we have faith and believe the promises in His Word (2Pet 1:4, Rom 1:17, Rom 3:22-25, 5:1, 10:17, Heb 11, 1John 1:9, 2Pet 1:4).

Today if you will hear his voice harden not your heart for God is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance (2Peter 3:9). Seek ye the Lord while he may be found call upon him while he is near; Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon (Isaiah 55:6-7).
and again.....

So Phil, are you stuck for words and cannot respond to the posts I have sent you?

Just re-posting the same post over and over does not magically make it come true when you have been caught out doing something that is not honest.

If you are at peace with what you believe and do then fine you are free to move on. If your not I am happy to talk with you further. Otherwise let's agree to disagree and remain friends. There is nothing hidden that shall not be revealed and each one of us are required to work out our own salvation with fear and trembling.

Those who are in the Lord will have peace and LOVE through FAITH and are free to FOLLOW him who LOVES all. Those that do not FOLLOW him do not KNOW him and should seek him while he may be found and call upon him while he is near...

Tommorrow may be too late..
.................

I think that last response just above this is relevant again for this post and will leave you to consider it again...

Only God's Word is true and we should BELIEVE and FOLLOW it

IN times of ignorance God winks at but now calls all men every where to REPENT for the KINGDOM of HEAVEN is at HAND (Acts 17:30-31)

God's 4th commandment is one of the ten (
Exodus 20:8-11) If we knowingly break it when God asks us not to we stand guilty before God of committing sin (James 2:8-12). If we do not seek him in repentance and forgiveness we are in danger of the Judgement (Hebrews 10:26-27)

Sunday worship is a tradition and teaching of man that has lead many to break the commandments of God. Jesus says that if we follow the traditions of man that break the commandments of God we are not following God (Matthew 15:3-9)

Who should we follow the teachings and traditions of men or the Word of God? Who should we believe the Words of men or the Word of God?
Yes I agree, Christ is the "end" of the law to everyone who believes, but I'd better not think for a moment that this releases me to "sin". Sin is the transgression of the law, so, if I am transgressing the law, then I have to be led to Christ again, to receive His Forgiveness and Freedom, because when I sin, I put myself under a yoke of bondage and the law becomes bondage.

According to Christ we define love by the 2 great commandments, 1. Love God with all your heart, and 2. Love your neighbor as yourself, but if you want to better understand those two, then we go to the 10, which explain both in greater detail. So you can't get rid of the foundation upon which all the law and the prophets hang. If we were to take a magnifying glass and see what the result of love is, we would see that it is keeping God's commandments.

The world today uses it's own definitions to define love, but we must use the Bible's. If love is the fulfillment of the law, and we are to love God and love our neighbor, then if we are not doing these things then, ultimately we are not fulfilling the law. How do I know if I am loving God, and loving my neighbor? Back to the 10 commandments. Not just the 4th either!
Hello HBG,

Well written, I agree with you because SIN is the transgression of God's LAW and there is NO knowledge of SIN without it.
If God's LAW was abolished there would be NO KNOWLEDGE of SIN (Romans 3:20) If there was no knowledge of SIN there would be no need for a Savior as no one would know they are SINNERS. IF we have no need of a Savior then we have no salvation. If we have NO Salvation then we are LOST and still IN our SINS.

What the scripture is talking about is that God's LAW brings us to Jesus. It shows us who we are because God's LAW is the standard of SIN and RIGHTEOUSNESS. It is the KNOWLEDGE of Good and Evil. It shows us that we are ALL SINNERS in need of a Savior and as the scriptures say.......

Romans 3:19
Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.

God's LAW is our school master that leads us to Christ that we might be justified by FAITH that is the meaning of Christ being the END of the LAW it means the God's LAW brings the SINNER to the CROSS

You cannot separate God's LAW (10 commandments) from GRACE the one leads to the other.

GOD'S LAW (10 commandments) KNOWLEDGE of SIN >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>CHRIST (end)

Christ is the END of the LAW the one leads to the other. LAW leads to GRACE. The scripture does NOT say God's LAW is abolished which is how you are interpreting it but rather that through the KNOWLEDGE of SIN one finds the Savior from SIN.

........................

Hello JPT,

So nice to meet you here and welcome to this thread. We look forward to sharing God's Word together with you. Some comments for your consideration provided below for your first post here.

17 “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. 18 For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. 19 Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 5:17-19

The verse -
Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets.

The law here is a reference to to the Torah, the first five books of the bible.

Likewise the prophets that foretold of the coming Messiah. The law of Moses which was always temporary, and was only in effect until the Seed should come, has been nailed to the cross.

Absolutely my friend but it seems you have not understood from the rest of your post what that OP is discussing. May I ask you a few questions to help the conversation?

Do you know what makes up the OLD Covenant and the difference and purpose of God's LAW written on stone and the laws of Moses written in the book and why God commanded Moses to keep them separated in the Old Covenant?

God's LAW (10 commandments) is not abolished at the cross it is our SINS and the Mosaic laws for remission of SIN from the book of the law that pointed to Jesus that where nailed to the cross.

It is the Mosaic laws for remission of SIN that where shadow laws pointing to the Mesaiah that are fullfilled in Christ not the 10 commandments. The 10 commandments are the standard in the Old and New Covenant and the Judgement to come.

God's LAWS are the KNOWLEDGE of SIN and RIGHTEOUSNESS or GOOD and EVIL. They show us what SIN is and that we are all SINNERS in need of a Saviour so that all the world may become guilty toward God (Romans 3:19).

God's LAW shows us our need of Salvation. If there is no LAW there is no KNOWLEDGE of SIN. If there is no KNOWLEDGE of SIN there is no need of a Savior. IF there is no need of a Savior there is no Salavation. IF there is no salvation then one is LOST because they are still in their SINS. It is SIN that will keep all who practice it OUT of God's Kingdom.

Roman 2:12
For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law;

Today, we do not keep the Sabbath according to the law of Moses, whereby people are put to death if they violate.
You shall keep the Sabbath, therefore, for it is holy to you. Everyone who profanes it shall surely be put to death; for whoever does any work on it, that person shall be cut off from among his people. Exodus 31:14
Once we agree on this point, then there is room for discussion. justpassinthrough
It look like you have got the CIVIL laws of Moses mixed up with God's LAW (10 commandments). We are not under the CIVIL law of Moses and not living in the OLD Covenant we are now in the NEW Covanant.

The CIVIL laws of Moses only apply to the nation of Israel under the Old Covenant and are NOT applicable to those in the NEW Covenant as we are only to obey the laws of the land in the country that we are living in. The following is a list of the other CIVIL laws for the death penalty where people openly broke God's LAW in Israel in the Old Covenant...

Civil Law DEATH penalties for the law of Moses

 1. Serving other Gods (Deut 13:6-18; 1Sam 26:19)
 2. Idolatary (Deut 13:1-10; 17:2-5; 27:15; Deut 7:25-26)
 3. Using God's name in vain (Lev 24:10-17 )
 4. Breaking God's Sabbath (Exodus 31:14-15; 35:2)
 5. Dishonor Parents (Lev 20:9; Deut 21:18-21; Ex 21:17)
 6. Murder (Ex 21:12-14)
 7. Adultery (Lev 20:10; John 8:5)
 8. Stealing (kidnapping) (Exodus 20:6)
 9. Lying (Deuteronomy 19:15-21)

These CIVIL laws were to teach God's people that the "WAGES of SIN" were death. IN the NEW Covenant that death penalty has not ceased but will be executed at the 2nd coming for those that reject the GIFT of God's dear son (Romans 6:23; Hebrews 10:26-27; Matthew 7:19; 2 Cor 5:10; 2 Peter 3:10; Matt 25:46; Romans 2:5; 2 Peter 2:1-9; Matthew 16:27; Romans 2:12 etc..)

....................

still nothing on Jesus's resurrection? as I have said before, I doubt you are a Christian, because belief and trust in a risen Savior is the foundation of the Christian faith. Sabbath and dietary laws are the foundation of jewish faith. you talk all the time about Sabbath, yet nothing on the Resurrection. pretty obvious.

Hello gb9, this thread is on Col 2, God's Law (10 commandments) and the Sabbath. You are welcone to start another thread somewhere and send me a link to join in the discussion if you like? Do you have anything to share here in relation to the OP?

I have answered all your questions ever since we started talking. When I ask questions they mainly get ignored. If I continue to answer your questions then do you promise to answer my questions?

I have answered your questions. you don't like the answer, or you can't refute the answer, so you just spin it to " no one answers my questions "

so here, one more time- gentiles were never under the Law, and there is no N.T. command for Christ followers to keep the Sabbath. don't give 59 verses out of 8 different books of the N.T., that is just producing something, not showing something.

and, a real Christian would answer the Christ's Resurrection question in 3 seconds or less. you haven't answered it in 2 days. very telling .

gentiles were never under the law ( Romans 2 12-15 ) , Paul directly states it ( no answer from you if you think Paul's letters are authoritative Scripture ), so there. you are refuted.

nothing on Christ. it gets more and more clear that you trust Sabbath ( or maybe ellen white ) for salvation . you should except Christ as your Lord and Savior, and denounce white and her and the other 2 founding fathers of this false sda teaching garbage.

You are following them. They rejected God's Word, and it is your tradition to do the same. And it was Jesus, before becoming a man, who created His Sabbath for man, not the Jews.

God's word tells us to put to death those who violate the Sabbath.

Work shall be done for six days, but the seventh is the Sabbath of rest, holy to the Lord. Whoever does any work on the Sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death. Exodus 31:15

If you claim to obey the Sabbath according to the law of Moses, then you are obligated to put to death, those in your Church who violate it.

5 One person esteems one day above another; another esteems every day alike. Let each be fully convinced in his own mind. 6 He who observes the day, observes it to the Lord;[a] and he who does not observe the day, to the Lord he does not observe it. He who eats, eats to the Lord, for he gives God thanks; and he who does not eat, to the Lord he does not eat, and gives God thanks. Romans 14:5-6

One person esteems one day above another; another esteems every day alike. Let each be fully convinced in his own mind.

still nothing on Jesus's resurrection? as I have said before, I doubt you are a Christian, because belief and trust in a risen Savior is the foundation of the Christian faith. Sabbath and dietary laws are the foundation of jewish faith. you talk all the time about Sabbath, yet nothing on the Resurrection. pretty obvious.
People do all sorts for their god, and their religion, we see it on the forums
and in the news on TV, they have to because false god's are impotent, but:

Christianity is what God has done for us.

Rom. 7:9 For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died.10 And the commandment, which was ordained to life, I found to be unto death.

The wages of sin is death. If we were not dead, Jesus wouldn't need to save us no would He? The Sabbath is one of several instructions that He created for man whose penalty for rejecting is death.

You don't believe these things?

5 One person esteems one day above another; another esteems every day alike. Let each be fully convinced in his own mind. 6 He who observes the day, observes it to the Lord;[a] and he who does not observe the day, to the Lord he does not observe it. He who eats, eats to the Lord, for he gives God thanks; and he who does not eat, to the Lord he does not eat, and gives God thanks. Romans 14:5-6
What possible difference does it make to me what one MAN thinks, or what another MAN thinks. I do not serve the mind of man, not even my own mind as Jesus instructed.

The Pharisees believed I couldn't walk and eat a raspberry on God's Holy Sabbaths.

SO!!!! Was it a Law of God that I couldn't walk and eat a strawberry on God's Sabbaths? No, it was a Law of Man, a tradition of man, a doctrine of man. We are to be interested in God's Words and instructions, not mans doctrines and traditions.

One person esteems one day above another; another esteems every day alike. Let each be fully convinced in his own mind.
What happens if a person, who believes I can't help a brother in need on God's Sabbaths, studies God's Word?

Will he learn from this Word that God never intended for us to leave a brother in need, regardless of the day? That it is "lawful" to do good on the Sabbath?

Let each man be fully convinced in his own mind whether to listen and honor God, or listen and honor man.

Rom. 14:11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.
12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.

gentiles were never under the law ( Romans 2 12-15 ) , Paul directly states it ( no answer from you if you think Paul's letters are authoritative Scripture ), so there. you are refuted.

nothing on Christ. it gets more and more clear that you trust Sabbath ( or maybe ellen white ) for salvation . you should except Christ as your Lord and Savior, and denounce white and her and the other 2 founding fathers of this false sda teaching garbage.
rom. 2:9 Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;10 But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile:

Rom. 2:11 For there is no respect of persons with God.

12 For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law;

13 (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.

I believe Paul was inspired by the Spirit of God. God has the same standard for the Jew as the Gentile because He is Just and not a respecter of persons.

Paul is exposing your preaching as false when you preach He has different standards for one certain DNA than another.

you stopped at verse 13. well, if you just went on one more sentence, you would see that Paul said in v.14 " for gentiles, WHO DO NOT HAVE THE LAW ...... so, there it is. in black and white. clear as day.

not to mention that John said in the 3rd chapter of his 3rd letter that the commands are believe in the name of the Son and love one another. no Sabbath .
