Don't take offense to this, but I have no idea what these things you speak of are.

Is someone killing an inflatable dragon, or pillow?
Actually for awhile I was confused about waifus, the term waifu can refer to a guy's wife or a fictional character whether male or female that a person is infatuated with,it also refers to a pillow that has said character which a person won't let get destroyed like an ultimate collector's item.

Rose,

I know you mean well, but...

I don't want to sound like the jaded old lady of the forum, but I'm going to anyway.

When I see things like this, I'm not thinking, "Oh, what a cute kid's toy."

I'm thinking of all the 50-year-old men who buy these things and say it's for their "daughter"--but they don't have any children.
You do realize that there are waifus of men too not just women right?

Hmm...I would imagine two things:

- Some flashy guy in a shining disco suit and shiny silver/diamond bling with a toy sword in his hand fighting/whacking an inflatable dragon at some kid theme park to 'save' his anime waifu body pillow, while yelling out various Naruto quotes over and over. (Idk either...)

- A guy who literally is a knight in shining armor...in an online MMORPG game. With ridiculously overpowered weapons.
lol that first one would be pretty amusing, will he save his waifu from the dragon or will the kids get a hold of it and tear it to feathers!?

Seriously.

Who wouldn't want a lifetime supply of homegrown sweaters?

Just don't let Tommy be the one to buy you that alpaca or it's going to wind up on the grill. :(
Hey now, there is a reason why I was asking if alpacas got along with cows.

I wouldn't grill the alpacas......not right away.

There is something seriously wrong with this.
hahaha hahaha, you're cracking me up too,it's a pillow, gasp, people have often gotten blankets, pillows, sheets, throws,or comforters of their favorite characters, like me I have a harry potter blanket of the chamber of secrets flying car scene, that I had one of my uncle's girlfriends stitch together,it doesn't make me attracted to my same gender with all males on the blanket or likewise if I had a pillow of a female anime character,it pretty much just shows I'm a fan of that anime, just like other memorabilia like I used to have a shirt of seto kaiba from yugioh and his blue eyes white dragon.
There are far worse than a few simple fan memorabilia stuff out there that someone could pursue, and plus your guess of it being wrong depends on the individual, some guys or women are weird like what you are hinting at,some guys and women aren't.

Yes, my dear Joe, I do.

I'm sure that many of the 50-year-old guys I spoke about are buying pillows of boys as well. And of course, women aren't exempt either.

I understand what you're saying about there being things out there that people pursue that are a lot worse--but you also have to understand that for some of them, their pursuit of some of those worse things started with things like this.

I think you're often missing the point of my posts. I know a lot of people like anime, and hey, that's cool, do your thing.

But if you're hanging out with people who are a few decades older than you, we're going to be the first to tell you that not everything in life is fun and games, unfortunately.

Too late for the edit, doggone it.

Joe, I know that you and some of the others here think I'm constantly ripping on anime in my posts, and I'm not. Remember, I told you, back in the day, I used to be a little bit of a fan myself.

Rather, what I'm trying to say is something like, if you're online and playing a bunch of these mass media games or talking online a bunch of anonymous strangers who all claim to be around your age and love anime and Asian culture and all the same things you do, and try to be your friend or talk to you...

Please be careful, because some of them are the 50-year-old men I'm talking about, and are just there to prey on people like you.

The-Lord-of-the-Rings-Return-of-the-King-Highest-Grossing-Films.jpg

Lord of the rings is my favorite trilogy. I love the friendship between Sam and Froto. That to me is a knight in shinning armor. Not someone who is going to save you from life, but someone who will go down to the worst possible places with you. Like the story of Ruth and Naomi, where you go i'll go. I dont want to be taken care of per say, or saved, I think someone who stands beside you when things are rough, or who encourages you and gets you up after you have failed, that's my idea of a knight.

I liked how open minded the producers of LOR were. The love between Sam and Froto.... how they always looked as if they were going to embrace eachother in a kiss.

Yeah I definitely get that point, the internet especially is a gray area, you can't always know who is really who or what age they really are,I suppose I'm just rather an optimist, because though some people are strange or plain evil,I think alot on circumstances because somethings are obvious where as somethings aren't.

Chivalry is a quality of considering the needs of someone else and demonstrating courage, kindness and honor through it.

I definitely don’t need to be rescued. I was already rescued by God. I already have a hero in my father.

This is important because I have developed a sense of self worth and respect for myself. There are too many losers out in this world who think they can woo a woman by pretense of ‘caring’.
There are so many stories of young women, some in their teens, being lured by older, predator-like men and vice versa.

If a woman respected herself, she would not deal with the louts of this world - the bad tempered, abusive, steeped in vices kind of man.
She would not deal with the emotional stringers of this world, jerking her around on every whim.
Sure, he rescued her from a dragon.

Some women are in precarious situations in life that might need a James Bond-like man to step in. The rest of the world is caught up in their own prisons of the modern world.

A man can be chivalrous when he shows he cares. I believe it is in the little things. It's when he walks you back home in the night, the other way from his own house because he wants you to be safe.
It's when you are walking on the sidewalk and he gently moves you to the side, away from the road.

It's when he texts you, because he had a feeling you might be upset. It's when he picks you up from the airport without being asked. It is when he brings you snacks and food even when you are mad at each other.

When it is super cold outside and you are bundled up inside, eating ramen noodles, you get a call - ‘Hey, I am at a food truck, what would you like?’... then you see a knight in an ordinary man's clothes.

All these tiny incidents are actual things men have done for me in my life. These little moments have stayed with me far more than anything.
Bruh your so right i love you xD but seriously i think the first part is very important we can do our best but we will never be anyone's Jesus women can't llok at us like that cuz we will be so far from your expectations it would be utterly pathetic. And the emphasis on food is just great lol that's definitely a way to be a knight but also in the more important things as well like taking care of you when your sick or pregnant , which is the hardest possible thing to do i promise you xD, being responsible and caring , giving up selfish things to spend more time with you or giving you a break from your responsibilities so you're not as stressed you know stuff like that i think that's chivalrous in a way and anyone can do something hard or difficult once but having to constantly do it over and over and still be kind is extremely hard.

On the post tho what makes us want to be like knights? Well obviously it would be a natural thing men were created to do so yea. Second we know girls like it and that's definitely gonna peak our interest. But i think there's certain people and experiences that just make you want to protect people especially a woman i mean think about it, this is the closest human relationship you can have when you're one flesh right? You would love her of course but you would also look at her almost like a porcelain doll you don't want anything to hurt or even make you think she's in danger couple that with the fact that since you care so deaply about her you want to impress her and show her how much you care slaying a dragon although dangerous would be more of an opportunity then a challenge. The rewards would be amazing too think of how much she would care about you if you showed her how much you cared it's like what Jesus did on the cross in a way and naturally as a Christian we want to be like him. Of course you'd want to be like a knight you have someone who you have crazy feelings for and can't express them fully with words only actions can do your love justice. I personally have many more reasons then most people do not just for a girl i like but women and children in general i want to protect people because I've failed to many times when i was younger or when i just wasn't there or able to help which is one of the reasons why men might want to be physically strong i know we aren't smart and most girls look at us like we are pretty dumb but trust me we think about things a lot more then you'd give us credit for xD. Hmmm a time i felt like a knight in shining armor well I've protected my nephews and nieces on multiple occasions and although that's not for a girl i still felt like i did something right like i was doing something for the kingdom like I wasn't completely useless. I also want to add that men were created to lead and not being able to hurts it really does, failing to do something you simply were created to do makes you feel like crap maybe that's why men don't usually go for super intimidating girls because they just think they would fail at being a leader. If you are a girl and you're with some guy maybe let him know every now and then that you appreciate him trying his best to lead and take care of you if he's even close to a man he'll appreciate it for sure. I wanna eventually be like a knight for God and a woman but that's all his choice i guess, and who knows maybe he'll give me a girl with tons of scars who's way too independent to let me help her and hopefully I'll digure out a way to convince her to let me sounds pretty cool to me cx. #intimidatingfemalesFTW

I don’t know about Millennials or Gen Xers, and I sure don’t need rescuing. But I wouldn’t mind being swept up on the horse of a Baby Boomer Knight to find fun and adventure!

Most of my neighbors have horses. I do not. I choose to ride dirt bikes that pack 70 horses of power cradled in a good handling frame. Im afraid sweeping you up with one of these may be about 69 times more fun and adventurous then you may want to handle. ;)
Im still trying to figure out how to fit into the knights suit in my profile pic

There's no such thing as too much fun or adventure.

I would think it a bit uncomfortable riding a dirt bike while encased in shining armor.

This is what I think is a modern day knight in shining armor:

- The Understanding Man (aka being political correct, or to put another way, is a door mat)
- Is more than willing to treat a woman as royalty, but at the same time is more than happy to be treated as a peasant, in other words, he will treat the woman in his life as a high priority, but at same time is more willing to accept as being treated as a low priority
- Cannot open up a door for a woman just in case that act could be confused as some sort of assault
