Please pray for my 17 year old daughter who is being more and more brainwashed by the lies of the world. Her generation calls good evil and evil good. She does not go to church anymore and traded christian friends for worldly friends. The media, and Hollywood teach and preach that you should live, dress, be any way you want, all religions are the same and christians are ignorant. She is very into her horoscope now and wants to consult a psychic. Please pray for her. I am broken. Seeing my once christian daughter openly reject the teachings of the Bible is torture. Seeing her drifting and thinking that she has evolved beyond christianity is killing me. She curses, listens to vulgar music and it doesn't bother her in the least. Please pray that God leads her back to Him. This is just devastating and I'm not sure what to do.

I'm so sorry to hear this about your daughter. My wife works at a High School and she can't believe the way teenagers are behaving these days!

Sadly, this world has a really negative influence on our youth. :(

But there is always hope in Christ.

Lifting your daughter up in prayer to the Lord.

Well your daughter does not have to conform to how you want her to be. Maybe prayer should also be for your love for her no matter what, and not your despair out of the loss of control. You should love your daughter no matter what. Think of the prodigal son. I pray that you accept the fact that your daughter is always your daughter. When you don't accept people the way they are, you push them away. If she admires your humble spirit (if you engage that), when things do go wrong, then she will be back. But if she feels outcast by you because of her choices, she will move on to another source of happiness, looking for the answer. Something about home doesn't make her happy. If you love her, more than she feels those around her love her, then you need to show it in 'every way'. God's way, is in 'all ways'. If you are faultless here, then maybe I am wrong. But it always takes two people in a relationship, not just 'them' and 'they' need to change. Feeling tortured or oppressed by your own thoughts about someone you care about, is a symptom of needing to change your own perspective to a more loving one. God doesn't torture us or make us feel like something is killing us, it is struggling with showing love in the right way and feeling powerless that does that. The power of the world has nothing on the power of God. But the power of God has to be absolute, to fight the 'absolution' of the world. I say this in kindness.

The Word of God that you're daughter has previously been taught will not return void.

Can you figure what triggered her change?

Sadly many young Christian girls are raped or abused and that causes them to turn from God.

I may be way off base but when I was in college, it was a shockingly repeating story of why some of my friends rebelled and turned from God.

Another reason is that many churches teach false doctrine and kids get a false image of who God really is. They build their faith on sand instead of the solid rock of Christ.

I will keep you and your daughter in prayer.

There is nothing as heartbreaking as watching our children drift away from the Lord. It is an anguish the secular world just cannot understand.

Hold to heart the story of the prodigal son. He ran into the world as fast as his two feet could carry him, but after he got his fill of the filth, he came back home - broken, humble, and expecting little. But oh! How the father rejoiced at the very sight of him! Rushing out to embrace and kiss his boy! Accepting him for who he was, and not what he had done.

I pray God will draw your daughter back to Him, and back to you. That a day of rejoicing at her return will soon come.
