Yes directly through the witness of God the Holy Spirit

It is the word of God that is the witness not the feet of the apostles. We do not receive the witness of men as if it was of God. We bear the witness of one not seen . We lost that witness of the unseen in the garden when mankind experienced doing the will of another, as that seen (walking by sight)

1John 5:9 If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son.

then people that claim themselve AS an apostle Will claim that Holy spirit directly teach them

but the Lord Jesus Christ chose Paul directly, "as face to face"

Do you think Paul was mocking Jesus in his writing about seeing a light brighter than the sun?

Remember it is written that the Holy Ghost was the image of the invisible God.

And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription? Matt 22

And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven: Acts 9:3

At midday, O king, I saw in the way a light from heaven, above the brightness of the sun, shining round about me and them which journeyed with me. Acts 26:13

I used my lazer to drive off a vulture that landed on the roof of my house once, it was around 80 ft away during the daytime. So yeah, it is brighter than the sun.

And the men which journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice, but seeing no man. Acts 9:7

Or do you think the LORD was using Paul to teach you about the Holy Ghost, who is the image of the invisible God, who descended from heaven upon Jesus when he was baptized in the desert beyond Jordan, which some might refer unto as being quickened by the LORD.
Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?Rom 6:3

Where did I say Jesus said that? Hint: I didn't. I simply stated what Scripture says, which is that Jesus told them to wait. Were they acting with the Spirit? The Spirit had not yet come upon them.

Jesus speaking one last time between crucifixion and ascension is very confusing to me.
He says to wait on the spirit, it doesnt say why.
they were short one Apostle, He never mentions this. and why do they not ask Jesus about this?
after He ascends the very first thing they do is choose the 12th, as if it has to be done right then and there. the number of 12 was important, did they have to have the number at 12 before they could receive the spirit?
why did they have to have 12 when they called Matthias and not keep the number at 12 after each one of them is killed? had matthias been called before the ascension it would make more sense but he was called after.

They were the disciples of Yahshua/Jesus, they fulfilled a prophecy... I think they were men in connection with the Most High...

at what point do the 12 stop replacing their members when they are killed?

OK that is not what I said though, I said he excludes himself from the 12. I understand he says he is an apostle, I was simply pointing out Paul is not one of the 12 disciples of Yahshuia/Jesus.

apostle has different meanings. messenger, one with authority, one of the 12. when Paul applies this term to himself, how is he using it. i dont think he believes himself to be the same as the 12 Apostles because so many times you have him going to see the Apostles, it never says going to see "the other" Apostles.

There was a reason why in the early church, the leadership did not call themselves apostles when
they performed the ministries of leadership and ministry, because they were not apostles.

2000+ years later, for apostles to appear means a new "church" "faith" has arisen which intends
to overthrow what went before, while actually being biblically illiterate.

Do any of them say "Be Holy", "Live a holy life", "live like Jesus"

To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.
"He committed no sin, and no deceit was found in his mouth."
1 Peter 2:21-22

So who are these teachers, and what is their example? Lavish lifestyles, and celebrity status.
Look at what Paul said,

For it seems to me that God has put us apostles on display at the end of the procession, like men condemned to die in the arena. We have been made a spectacle to the whole universe, to angels as well as to men.
We are fools for Christ, but you are so wise in Christ! We are weak, but you are strong! You are honored, we are dishonored!
To this very hour we go hungry and thirsty, we are in rags, we are brutally treated, we are homeless.
1 Corinthians 4:9-11

If they taught the true walk of Christ, in meekness, humbleness and love, amen, if not, goodbye.

Think about it for a minute...

How credible would it be, if a man appeared in court, and claimed that his friend told him about the details of an accident, therefore he was qualified to testify about it?

Ludicrous.

Why would I believe someone who calls himself an Apostle, who never saw the resurrection? I totally believe the Apostles who wrote Scripture, or dictated it to an assistant. They had first-hand experience with the risen Jesus, and were qualified. No one today can meet those qualifications.

Those who call themselves Apostles of Christ today are, quite bluntly, either outright liars, deceived, or mentally ill.

Note that I am not addressing "apostles" in the sense of church-planters or missionaries. I realize that some use this title to refer to those offices. I am not talking about "apostles of the church" either...those sent by the church for a specific purpose.

In relation to this topic, I recommend this article:

Are There Still Apostles Today? | The Cripplegate

It outlines three qualifications for an apostle, and NO ONE today can meet those qualifications.

Regarding those who would say I don't believe in the five-fold ministry..yes, I do. I have the ministry of the apostles which are contained in Scripture..their eyewitness accounts.

When will the church ever stop listening to prideful men, and start addressing them sharply on these issues?

Remember, real Apostles are those who are credible eyewitnesses.

I have tested those who claim to be apostles today, and found them FALSE. They were not eyewitnesses to the resurrected Jesus, so they are FALSE. It isn't hard to apply that test and find that all claimants are FALSE today.

Rev 2:2 “‘I know your works, your toil and your patient endurance, and how you cannot bear with those who are evil, but have tested those who call themselves apostles and are not, and found them to be false."

And, for those who are making such claims, be aware that you will be facing Jesus in one of the resurrections. You should be trembling in your shoes for making such claims.

Quit playing ego games with God, repent and admit your foolishness.

The same applies to people who think they are disciples of Christ when they do not meet the criteria stated in the Word (Luke 14:26-27 & 33).
I know that I do not meet the criteria for being a disciple of Christ.

Luke 14:26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.27 And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.

33 So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.

I never said you did either :) I was simply pointing out that Matthias was chosen by men, while Paul was chosen by Jesus Christ. I am not sure why you are so hung up on the "replacing Judas" idea. Judas was a devil. Jesus had told the apostles to wait for the coming of the Holy Spirit.

I'm not hung up on anything. Maybe you should read a post before making such statements.

I responded to this post:
God used the twelve apostles mightily while they were alive and He continues to use some of them through the written Word of God. When Paul speaks of apostles and prophets we are to take that as FOUNDATIONAL which means that they were involved in putting the Scriptures together. Since we have a complete Bible (66 books) with the OT prophets followed by the NT apostles, the time for apostles is over. And yes, there are only twelve apostles of the Lamb, since there are only 12 foundations for the wall of the heavenly city New Jerusalem. In other words "they are carved in stone" in a manner of speaking (with Paul replacing Judas).

I was pointing out to Nehemiah6 that this post was inaccurate, as they often are. So, I provided the scripture in an attempt to share the truth.

Then you come alone & act like Acts 1:16 - 26 is wrong because Matthias didn't become a superstar in scripture.

Look, I didn't write the scripture I just shared the truth. Nehemiah6's claim that Paul replaced Matthias isn't what scripture teaches.

Magenta. You seem to be the one with hang-up's.

Acts 1:16 Peter say's; Men and brethren, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spake before concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus.
(NOTE: CONCERNING JUDAS WHO GAVE UP JESUS)

23 And they appointed two, Joseph called Barsabas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias.

26And they gave forth their lots """""and the lot fell upon Matthias""""" and he was numbered with the

Just curious; what is the "true church"?
I believe that even this forum constitutes a church, where two or three are gathered in the Lords name, and His being here in our midst (Matthew 18:20).

Matthew 18:20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

Just curious; what is the "true church"?
The true church is the body of Christ (Colossians 1:18,24) that is made up of all born again Christians and is not a particular denomination or church building with a name stamped on it. ;)

at what point do the 12 stop replacing their members when they are killed?

they only replaced one member because he betrayed them, not because he was killed.

besides what folks forget is that God is God of the LIVING and not the dead. so many are very mistaken for the Apostles are all still very much alive with Christ.

The Holy spirit teaches all that are spirit filled. He is the teacher of all spirit filled believers, regardless of what your status is. An apostle is one who has been chosen by God, separated from the others to solely preach and teach the gospel of God. That is his only task. Paul's apostleship was solely to preach the gospel to the gentiles. even though he was an israelite, he was called to go to the gentiles. The other apostles had task of preaching to the Jews, the romans, the Hebrews and others.
