Does God watch football?

In the recent past I have read news articles about the Eagles team being one of the most "spiritual" football teams and how there have been team members baptizing each other.

So apparently "being religious" is sort of a cultural thing within the NFL and isn't necessarily a true relationship with Jesus for every player. However, I think within the Eagles team a lot of it sounds authentic.

Do you think God will honor that and allow them to win the Super Bowl for the first time ever as a witness??

I don't know anything about the faith situation within the Patriots team, but I'm curious what the rest of you might think or if you can point to other teams or athletes who saw success after a spiritual revival amongst and within them. I can think of a few off the top of my head.

I'm rooting for the Eagles too. I'm sick of the Patriots winning the Super Bowl. Be glad with Brady hangs up his spikes. Yeah, I believe that God does watch football. I'm not saying it would take a miracle for Philly to win but it would be a major upset.

Yes. He is a Packers fan. I just wish he would speak us to another super bowl win. I guess that wouldn't be fair.

He watches the players hearts, but very doubtful He gets involved with the 'game'...

I had a guy several years ago tell me that the Dallas Cowboys' stadium (can't recall if it's their current stadium or former one) had a retractable roof so that God could look at His favorite team.

I didn't take that remark too well..................:cool:

God watches everything, don't ya think? :D

He just sees the spiritual reality of it all whereas we only see dimly.

Of course God watches football for He sees everything that goes on,and He sees you when you're sleeping,and knows when you're awake,He knows if you've been good or bad,so be good for goodness sake.lol.

God does not take any concern for football,for it is a worldly event that does not cater to the mission of God,but to make money and entertain people,and many football players pray to God for their team to win.

If people on the Eagle's team prays,and people on the Patriot's team prays,will God bless one team and curse another when both team prays.

That is worldly thinking for people to believe that God cares about football and blesses a team to win,and a team can be all saints that confessed Jesus as Lord and Savior,and after their needs giving all their money to help out the poor and needy,praying to God earnestly for 2 hours every day,and going to Church every day,and visiting the fatherless and widows in their affliction,and loving their father and mother,and God will still not help them to win that football game.

That is not God's concern to care about what the world is involved in,and if any person loves the world,or the things in the world,they are not of the Father.

God said they pray amiss to heap it unto their lusts,and they are living high on the hog,and loving fame from the world,and they think God is going to bless their team to win.

God does not care who wins in sports,does not have a favorite team,but is only concerned with the Gospel being preached in the world.

Some people think that God would grant people favor that has nothing to do with the kingdom of God because they pray to Him,and say they follow Him,in their endeavors of sports,and movies,musicians,the entertainment industry,and business deals as they heap money to themselves to show success and what they have accomplished having physical value to show off,and money in the bank,but God does not help people to be successful at those things if it is something that the world is involved in.

God has a hand in everything. That includes diversions.


Maybe the more Christian team will win. Maybe they will lose.

The outcome he arranges fits so finely and subtly into the grand scheme of things that projections like the one above are rendered silly.

Just enjoy the game. Make your predictions based on skill and likelihood. Pray for the salvation of mankind. Pay your taxes. Etc.

Maybe I chose the wrong title. It was meant as a joke! :D

I think God definitely could orchestrate a win for a certain team if it is part of a bigger plan. Is that what some of you are saying? Knowing some of their dedicated fans personally, it wouldn't hurt to have a godly team win as an example to those that support them. Perhaps it would cause some fans to take the team members' faith seriously and consider it for themselves.

Of course, the danger there is also delving into a prosperity Gospel kind of theology. Christians certainly won't have victories all the time...

So, yes, I believe God does watch football as some of you have already said. But to Him I'm sure it's just one possible game play in the Super Bowl of life. :p

Not only does God watch football games, he knows who is going to win before the game is played.
