take a deep breath man

if you are offended by what i said

i am sorry

my goal isnt to attack or hurt anyones feelings

if maybe you could clairfy your stance on the eternal security of someone who is made new
and born of God

with an incorruptible seed
that might help clear things up

this thread is made to glorify Jesus

its a tribute to His sacrifice and the gift of salvation

we dont need to argue

and id rather just have an open discussion
cant rep you yet McGee but this deserves one or more!

I hope I get caught up some day. ;

Not crazy about guessing whether a new member is really an old member, but by golly I think you're right!

Try as he may, Peter just can't get away from his writing style and sinless perfection doctrine.
I about puked when I read 52627.......so full of self righteous, sickening self exaltation........ALL who lift themselves up in pride will be brought low....

Isn't it obvious....self righteous judgmental accusatory falsehood.......who does he remind you of.......
Funny thing is they were pals in the past, PMing one another, then he is a "nice guy," we should "lend him an ear" &c...blah blah blah. This is why the biblical stance, not compromise, is important. The guy sows discord, false doctrine, false gospel, calls others lost, is sanctimonious, brags on self, blasphemes Christ and the Gospel.

What does Christ tell us to do about these false teachers who sow discord according to NT doctrine?

Nothing against BillG as far as him personally, just the stance. I see nowhere in Scripture we are to patronize these clowns, or give them an ear. No need to become complicit via bargaining with them. Imagine this dude in a church, he'd be excommunicated from any solid, sound assembly.

Beginning to wonder.
Discussing is one thing, but personally attacking is a new ball game.

Attack the doctrine but not the person.

I have to say PennEd

I do not believe LLH is here to bring condescension.
Maybe he did not put his point across as intended.

Having spent the last couple of days talking with him on this thread and another one, I see a open and honest person. So far I have seen a gentle and loving heart.
One that is willing to help and encourage but one that is also open to learn.
Sigh And he stabbed you in the back. Nasty. I can see why we need to cover each other with love more than ever. You know, I think forums are better than an actual church. There is something about exposing the heart easier when we think we are anonymous.

yup

clear as day to anyone with eyes
You're anyone with eyes. How do you not see it? He said we are to remove stumbling blocks from the body so 'little ones who believe in him' do not stumble and be 'cast into the eternal fire'-Matthew 18:6-9. He taught that a person who believes in him can be led astray and go to the lake of fire. Jesus did not teach once saved always saved.

But what does it matter? What matters is that you are saved and ready to meet Jesus as evidenced by a changed life. That's what counts. Whether the person who meets Jesus with a dead faith was never born again or lost his salvation does not matter. Either way that person will not inherit the kingdom. So what does it matter? Once saved always saved does not change the truth that you have to have works when Jesus comes back or you show yourself to be an unbeliever and you will not be saved from the eternal fire.

Am I detecting cleverly constructed condescension?

Perhaps not.

I haven't seen DC day he wants others to be like him. Rather like Christ.
Looks like I owe you an apology.
It does seem that you were correct.

So I apologise

the fruits of the spirit arent what provide salvation....

these are His works in His children
Right, the fruits of the Spirit do not provide salvation. They show you have it.

Only branches that are in Christ produce fruit. Apart from him we can do nothing. Dead branches are picked up and thrown in the fire. That's why we have to have fruitful works when he comes back. We need to be in him ahead of time so we will be counted among those who go to the right at his return and not to the left and into the fire. The fruit of the kingdom shows us to be in him and safe from damnation.

Produce the fruit of the kingdom so you can be sure you really are in him and prepared to meet him.

Just so I can be careful to understand what a person is saying I sometimes Google a word they have used, especially if it is not a normal part of everyday language. I did that with 'aberrant'. (I wondered if you did not mean to use 'abhorrent'.) This is what I got.

ab·er·rant
ˈabərənt,əˈberənt/
adjective

  • departing from an accepted standard.

I absolutely meant aberrant. You have departed from orthodox theology and created this mixture of a little grace and a lot of works. A little Jesus and a lot of Ralph. A corrupted gospel.

You're anyone with eyes..

i know you like to use one verse at a time

but the whole bible works in harmony ralph

praise God for opening my eyes

in context

its speaking to those who arent His sheep offending His sheep and the seriousness of these offenses

what does He do to His sheep ralph?

He chastens them....

they dont go into hellfire

what happens when His sheep go astray?

finish the verse

He goes to collect them

an unbeliever - lets say he uses his hand to punch one who is born of God...

ohhhh its better if he were to cut his hand off

or looks upon a daughter of God with lust

he would be better to pluck his eye out

but if you are His

He will chasten you

and come to grab you

one way or another

you fail again to understand context

You are proving my point. You have not heard Jesus' teaching from Matthew 25 so it is aberrant to you. And you're not being told it in the church because it can only be seen by the church as a works gospel. But I showed you it is not that at all. Works show if we are branches connected to Christ or not. Only the fruitful branches get to stay in the vine. Dead ones go into the fire. They show they are not 'in him'.

The saving that happens when Jesus comes back is the separating of the sheep from the goats. They're already going to be sheep or goats at that time. Jesus will just do the separating between them at his return, and he will use their deeds to determine who is a goat and who is a sheep. Their lives will be the evidence that they were saved ahead of time in this life
That is absolutely wrong. He already knows who are His by the BLOOD - not their deeds!

I wonder, I seriously do, what kind of cult you belong to. Your theology is so messed up, it boggles the mind.

There is a difference between sinning and leaving faith in Christ altogether. Sinning saints don't go to the fire. Former saints do.

What does it matter anyway, NoName? Whether the person never believed or lost his salvation he's still going to be lost when Jesus comes back. Once saved always saved doesn't make it so you don't have to have works to be saved when Jesus comes back. That's the point I hope you get. That's the important one. You can think what you want about once saved always saved. Just be sure to believe, and be fruitful as a result, so you can be saved when he returns.

Since the Bible does say I am holy and righteous after being born again and through Jesus Christ, I guess I am bag of spiritual chips.

Now am I lays, Frito's or Doritos?
You know where your Holiness lies. I welcome you to the forums! :)
