People blame alcohol for the fact they cheated, why?

People have different reasons (excuses) why they drink.......Some, to be social, others to relax and still others to forget (?). All in all trying to do anything constructive when your drunk is useless ans many times, dangerous. This may sound a little bit "amazing", but every auto accident I ever responded to that involved serious injury or death, was alcohol or drug related. So here's my "IMO". If you have a drinking problem STOP DRINKING............if you can't stop, GET HELP. God wants all of us to enjoy a 'real" life full of blessings and accomplishments. Alcohol and drugs are not found in that equation. God Bless............Stan

Honestly, I am more of a social drinker and I only have one, which is my limit. Even then, I never finish a glass of wine and I sip on it for a couple hours and dump the rest of it out. I never drink and drive....so assuming people that are social drinkers have a problem is a little much. I can actually count on one hand how many times I've had a drink. Like people have said drinking in moderation is okay, nothing wrong with that

I think everyone should be like me! Then we wouldn't even be having this conversation!

Rats, now what can I say to make people realize I am not "judging and condemning" them, need to mind my own business, or that the Bible never says that?

Except, if you read all the incidents of people drinking alcohol, I think there is only one that comes out right, in the OT. Of course, in Greek there is only one word for wine/juice, so we don't know what the people were drinking!

I had a pastor long ago, and he said, alcohol was known as "spirits" for a reason. Because it is a false Holy Spirit. That works for me!

As for cheating, well, as Christians we know that is wrong! Period! And you don't need to be drunk to cheat, if I may point out!
 
Some good comments have been posted already, so I'll try not to reiterate them.

Many people can drink responsibly, and many people can't. Drinking alcohol is a privilege, and should be treated as such. Blaming alcohol for sin, or trying to use it as an excuse, suggests strongly that one should not drink... at all.

As for cheating, there is a background leading to every case, and I would be surprised to find any case where it "just happened". Adding alcohol (especially beyond moderation) to an already-questionable situation is asking for trouble.
 
Like I said in my description when it comes to alcohol the philosophy is "Drunk actions are sober thoughts". Meaning everything you do while drunk is everything you've thought about doing while sober but when your drunk it lowers your inhibition. When you're sober you think about doing something but your convicts takes over and common sense enters your brain.

Not too much common sense. If that was so we would not get drunk to start with .
