I suppose we all do? First post, here.
I am 51, divorced , and now newly out of a 12 year relationship after that. And I can't help but feeling that God wants me to be single. Yet I have such a yearning for someone to share my life with...and I have so much love to give another, still.

The loneliness is very hard. Surely God wants all to be happy? God planted my desire to be with another within me, yes? Why does it seem such a hard thing, to have that, when we see others coupled and happy?

Honestly, I don't struggle with it. In fact, I enjoy the single life.

Never read in the bible that God wants all to be happy. I

Maybe God planted you desire, maybe not.

You have to choose to be happy, whether you're coupled or not.

That's good to hear. Had you been previously "coupled"?
No, never have been. Maybe that's one reason why I don't mind being single. I don't know what I'm missing. If I had once been with someone and knew what it felt like, maybe I wouldn't be content with being on my own.

Singleness and being married are choice.

it does not mean you are married, the person is your forever partner until death do you part.

To maintain togetherness in a relationship, one must always maintain the love in order not to be cold. the two must always practice give and take habit, absolute trust and temperance if ever the two gets into a serious and heated argument.

You can still ask God for a partner in life if you want but since you are 51 I think it is better to stay single :) especially you have grandchildren already.

jameen, the wanting to share one's life with another does not go away at age 50. No grandkids here
