While I do reference other translations, there really is something special about the KJV. It seems to radiate power and authority.

Call me crazy...
Your crazy

And do you study? Do you know historical facts about Textus Receptus, Erasmus, text transmision and families of Greek manuscripts?

Do you know what the first Church used?

And I mean really studying, not reading some KJVO propaganda.
Yes

The first church? We are part of that same church, the body of Christ.

And have you really studied? Not from those new versions propaganda like James White...

Are you joking? ANYONE reading King James English MUST translate it. You CAN'T possibly understand it all without translating it yourself. No one in this day and age automatically understands what being 'girt about the paps with a golden girdle' means without looking it up or asking someone. You MUST translate it. Or you won't understand.

You can read a text that has been translated directly from the original languages to modern English by scholars. Or you can read one that is translated at a time when the language was very different and translate it again for yourself.

I'm not afraid of Bible study, I love it. I started studying more than 30 years ago. I didn't do it with King James English because it isn't necessary.
I allow Scripture to translate itself. That's the beauty of the KJV. All modern versions cannot do this.

You put your trust in scholars as you indicated. It's that what God desires of you?

In order to properly study, one needs the right words not just the overall thought.

The translations and interpretations you come up with aren't biblical or true. Seek some help from others.

That's the MAGIC!!!! of the KJV!!
Fixed that for ya! :D

All modern versions cannot do this.
You're ignorant of modern translations and their value to those who use them.

You put your trust in scholars as you indicated. It's that what God desires of you?
In Erasmus and King Jimmy's subjects you trust. Your above? A straw man and freudian slip, since you put your trust in these men yourself, you assume that others do as well, subconsciously.

In order to properly study, one needs the right words not just the overall thought.
In the modern versions we have both. KJV? Too many errors for those who don't blindly follow Erasmus, King Jimmy and his subjects, Sam Gipp, Peter Ruckman, Gail Riplinger &c.

That's because it's written with an English accent ;) You should hear me talk. You would believe everything I say ;)

I can respect that, I have no problem with people liking it. It's a legitimate translation. It's just the 'Onlyism' I disagree with.

My trust is in God, he speaks more than one language. And you are telling porkies. You CANNOT understand ALL that is written in the KJV from the standpoint of a native Modern English speaker without looking things up.

Even the word-order is different in some places than ours is now. You aren't BORN with an innate ability to understand Shakespeare. The very act of reading it means you MUST decipher it.

Even the current reigning monarch, Queen Elizabeth II of The Royal House of Windsor isn't a native speaker of the King James English. So stop making lofty claims that it magically 'translates itself' on sight.

Ok, so why dont you read Bible in Greek? It will translate itself for you.

Oh wait... you needed English scholars to translate it for you. And you believe that their work is perfect.

But you are not putting any trust in scholars... making sense.

WHY DIDN'T I THINK OF THAT?

I could have saved money on concordances and lexicons.

I wonder if I'll understand Hebrew if I just read it from left to right?

If you trust God, then you must trust His words. I do look up words I do not understand...using Scripture itself. Ever heard of the first mention principle? Probably not since it does not apply to the new versions where words are not important.

Your rhetoric is becoming less based in truth and more in error, speculation and slander.

James White is an apologist for modern Bible versions and an anti-KJV propagandist. He is definitely not a textual scholar and his writings have been debunked by others who are better equipped to be objective about this issue. It would appear that he has a financial stake in this matter, but that is second-hand information.

So now its about being scholar? You are the most inconsistent group I have ever seen.

What is the mantra of one kjv guy, a second one throws into trash.

And when they witness to ppl, they have to speak in 17th century Elizabethan English or it ain't the word of God they're speaking. No paraphrasing allowed.

Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.[1 Peter 1:23]

I am amazed they're that brainwashed...amazed, but not surprised.
Do they have to respond in KJV Ingerish?
